A Flexible Multicolor Strip Light Built for Industrial Applications

Industrial Status Indication

A flexible LED strip light, curved. It features adjustable length by cutting on designated trim lines for customized fits. The strip is backed with high-strength adhesive tape for mounting without brackets. The light is divided into segments of three LEDs, with each segment individually controllable as one unit, offering 18 LEDs per 300 mm. It supports 19 color options plus animations.

LC25 LED Controller

The LC25 LED Controller enables operation by either IO-Link or discrete I/O. It features direct M12 connection to the WLF12 Pro LED Strip Light, dynamic control and advanced animations, DC operation from 12 to 30 V, and is IP65, IP67, and IP68 rated to simplify installation.

AGV Status Indication

Challenge

Design engineers at an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) manufacturer sought a way to add lights to their vehicles to communicate the AGV's status to personnel working nearby. For instance, adding turn signals to indicate direction of travel. The lights needed to be installed around the curved corners of the AGV, ruling out typical industrial lighting products.

Solution

The WLF12 Pro was selected for its flexible and durable housing, peel-and-stick installation, multiple color options, and animation capabilities. Its availability in five lengths, with the ability to be cut in 50 mm increments, allowed for an exact fit. The high-strength adhesive backing enabled quick mounting. Electrical installation was simplified by using industry-standard M12 connectors, eliminating the need for special soldering. Engineers configured the WLF12 Pro to display specific colors and animations to communicate various AGV states.
