Quick Start Guide
If you are a Windows user, please find the appropriate keycaps in the box and follow the instructions to replace them.
1. Switch To The Right System
Ensure the system toggle on the top left corner of the keyboard is set to match your computer's operating system (Mac or Win).

2. The VIA Key Remapping Software
Download the latest VIA software from caniusevia.com to remap keys. If the software does not recognize your keyboard, contact support for instructions.

3. The Layers
The keyboard has four layers of key settings:
- Layer 0 and Layer 1 are for the Mac system.
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 are for the Windows system.
If the system toggle is set to Mac, Layer 0 is activated. If set to Windows, Layer 2 is activated. When using in Windows mode, make changes to Layer 2, not Layer 0, to avoid common mistakes.

4. The Backlight
Press fn + Q to change the lighting effect.
Press fn + tab to turn the backlight on/off.

5. Adjust The Backlight Brightness
Press fn + W to increase the backlight brightness.
Press fn + S to decrease the backlight brightness.

6. Activate Siri / Cortana
For Siri on Mac: Go to System Preferences > Siri, then select the "Hold Command Space" option. Note: Siri key functionality is limited to macOS and does not work on iOS.
For Cortana on Windows: Select Start > Settings > Cortana, then press Windows key + C. Note: Windows Cortana requires Windows 10 or later and availability may vary by region.

7. Watch The Building Tutorial On Our Website
For first-time builders, it is recommended to watch the building tutorial video on the Keychron website before assembling the keyboard.

8. Factory Reset
Troubleshooting: If you encounter issues, try the following steps:
- Plug in the power cable and factory reset the keyboard by pressing fn + J + Z (for 4 seconds).
- Download the right firmware and QMK Toolbox from the Keychron website.
- Unplug the power cable and remove the space bar keycap to find and access the reset button on the PCB.
- Hold the reset key first, then plug in the power cable. Release the reset key; the keyboard will now enter DFU mode.
- Flash the firmware with the QMK Toolbox.
- Factory reset the keyboard again by pressing fn + J + Z (for 4 seconds).

Keyboard Overview and Key Layouts
The keyboard offers different layouts for Mac and Windows operating systems, with multiple programmable layers.
Mac / Windows Overview

Default Key Layouts
LAYER 0: Mac Default
This layer is activated when the keyboard's system toggle is switched to Mac.

LAYER 2: Windows Default
This layer is activated when the system toggle is switched to Windows.

Multimedia and Function Keys: Some multimedia or function keys may be disabled due to compatibility, versions, brands, and drivers of devices.
