Operation

Using the Professional Weather Center

Learning Mode:

Self-Calibrating Forecasting uses an algorithm to analyze pressure changes over time to determine your altitude. After 14 days, the Learning Mode icon disappears, indicating the forecast is tuned to your location.

Weather Forecast:

AcuRite's Self-Calibrating Forecasting provides a 12 to 24 hour personal forecast by collecting data from the sensor in your backyard. It generates a forecast with pinpoint accuracy, personalized for your exact location.

Forecast Icons:

The display uses icons to represent forecast conditions: Storm Developing, Snow Likely, Light Rain Likely, Cloudy, Partly Cloudy, Sunny.

View the complete list of icons at www.AcuRite.com/acurite-icons.

Weather Select

Weather Select displays data including wind chill, dew point, heat index, feels like temperature, days with rain this month, and days since last recorded rainfall. Press the "SELECT" button to cycle through these categories.

Barometric Pressure

Subtle variations in barometric pressure affect the weather. The display shows the current pressure with an arrow icon indicating the trend (Falling, Steady, or Rising).

Rainfall Tracking

This weather station tracks historical rainfall data, recorded for today, over all-time, by year, by month, and by rainfall event. Press the "RAINFALL" button to review rainfall records. The icon indicates that historical data is being viewed.

Records are shown in the following order:

*Previous rainfall is the amount of rain recorded from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm on the date shown.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Solution
Inaccurate temperature or humidity
  • Ensure display and sensor are away from heat sources or vents (see page 7).
  • Ensure units are away from moisture sources (see page 7).
  • Mount 5-in-1 sensor at least 5 ft off the ground.
  • Calibrate indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity (see page 11).
No rainfall
  • Check that the rain gauge stabilizer (plastic tab) has been removed from the sensor.
  • Clear debris (leaves, etc.) from the rain collector funnel and debris screen.
  • Calibrate the rain gauge (refer to sensor manual).
Inaccurate wind readings
  • Compare wind readings to professionally mounted weather stations (typically at 30 ft). Ensure your sensor is mounted at a similar height.
  • Check sensor location: mount at least 5 ft in the air with no obstructions.
  • Ensure wind cups spin freely. Lubricate if necessary with graphite powder or spray lubricant.
Display screen not working
  • Verify the power adapter is plugged into the display and a working electrical outlet.
  • Reset the display by pressing and holding the CLEAR ALL/RESET button (located in the battery compartment) for 10 seconds. Date and time will need to be re-entered after a reset.

If your AcuRite product does not operate properly after trying the troubleshooting steps, visit www.AcuRite.com or call (877) 221-1252 for assistance.

Care & Maintenance

Display Care:

The indoor/outdoor temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure readings can be calibrated on the display to improve accuracy.

  1. To access calibration mode, press and hold the "∧", "SET", and "∨" buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.
  2. Use the "∧" or "∨" buttons to adjust the flashing item's value higher or lower.

Calibration Preference Order: OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE, OUTDOOR HUMIDITY, INDOOR TEMPERATURE, INDOOR HUMIDITY, BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (must be set to MANUAL mode to calibrate).

*To change between AUTO and MANUAL pressure modes, press and hold "SET" for at least 10 seconds. The display will show the selected mode.
