Precautions and General Recommendations
- Electrical installation and connection must be performed by a qualified technician according to manufacturer instructions and local safety regulations. Do not repair or replace parts unless specified in the manual.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before any installation work.
- WARNING: Failure to install screws or fixing devices correctly may result in electrical hazards.
- Earthing of the appliance is compulsory (unless identified as Class II).
- Do not pull the power supply cable to unplug.
- Electrical components must not be accessible to the user after installation.
- Do not touch the appliance with wet body parts or operate when barefoot.
- Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced capabilities, can use the appliance with supervision and understanding of hazards. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance by children require supervision.
- All other maintenance must be carried out by a specialized technician.
- When drilling walls, be careful not to damage electric connections or pipes.
- Air vents must always discharge to the outside.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by improper use or wrong settings.
- Regular maintenance and cleaning ensure good working order and performance. Clean surfaces regularly to avoid grease build-up. Remove, clean, or change filters as per "Cleaning and maintenance" instructions.
- Never flame cook (flambé) under the appliance; free flames can cause fire.
- Failure to follow cleaning and filter replacement instructions may result in fire.
- Exhaust air must not be vented through flues used by gas combustion appliances or other combustible materials; use a separate outlet. Observe national regulations for fume extraction.
- Ensure adequate ventilation if the hood is used simultaneously with gas or other combustible appliances. The room's negative pressure should not exceed 4 Pa (4x10-5 bars). Ensure the room is well ventilated. Consult a qualified person if in doubt.
- Do not leave frying pans unattended while frying, as frying oil may catch fire.
- Ensure light bulbs are cold before touching them.
- Do not use or leave the hood without the light bulb correctly fitted, as this may cause electric shock.
- The hood is not a work surface; do not place objects on it or overload it.
- Wear appropriate working gloves during installation and maintenance.
- This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use.
- WARNING: Accessible parts of the hood may become hot when the hob is in use.
Installation and Connection
In case of problems, contact the Authorized Service Centre. To prevent damage, remove the appliance from its packaging only at the time of installation.
Preparing for Installation
WARNING: This is a heavy product; it should only be lifted and installed by two or more people.
Minimum distance between the hob and the bottom of the hood:
- 65 cm for burning gas or other fuels.
- 60 cm for electric cookers.
Always check the minimum distances stated in the cooker's manual and observe any greater distances specified.
Range hoods can affect the safe operation of gas appliances due to back flow of combustion gases, potentially causing carbon monoxide poisoning. After installation, the operation of flued gas appliances should be tested by a competent person to ensure this does not occur.
Electrical Connection
Ensure the power voltage specified on the appliance rating plate matches the mains voltage.
Information regarding power cable replacement (type H05 VV-F) and electrical plug connection can be found on the inside of the hood, under the grease filter. Power cable replacement must be carried out by a qualified electrician. If the hood has an electric plug, connect it to a socket complying with current regulations and located in an accessible place.
WARNING: If the hood is fitted with direct wiring to the mains (no plug) or if the socket is not accessible, a qualified electrician should install a standardised double pole power switch for complete isolation from the mains, in accordance with wiring rules.
Use
The hood is designed for either "Extraction installation" (venting air outside) or "Recirculation installation" (filtering and returning air to the room).
Extraction Installation
Cooking steam is sucked and channelled outside through a discharge duct (not supplied) fitted to the hood's steam outlet. Ensure the discharge duct is correctly fitted to the air outlet using an appropriate connection system.
Important: If already installed, remove the charcoal filter(s).
Recirculation Installation
The air is filtered through one or more charcoal filters and then returned to the room.
Important: Ensure appropriate air circulation around the hood.
Important: If the hood is supplied without charcoal filters, they must be fitted before use. Filters are available at IKEA shops.
The hood should be installed away from particularly dirty areas, windows, doors, and heat sources.
Wall fixing accessories are not included as different wall materials require different fixing systems. Use systems suitable for your walls and the appliance's weight. Contact a specialized dealer for details.
Keep this booklet for future consultation.

Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING: Never use steam cleaning equipment. Always disconnect the hood from the electric power supply before cleaning.
IMPORTANT: Do not use corrosive or abrasive detergents. If any product accidentally contacts the appliance, clean immediately with a damp cloth.
- Clean surfaces with a damp cloth. If very dirty, add a few drops of washing-up detergent to the water. Finish with a dry cloth.
- IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive sponges or metallic scrapers/scourers, as they can damage the surface over time.
- Use detergents specifically designed for cleaning the appliance and follow manufacturer instructions.
- IMPORTANT: Clean the grease filters at least monthly to remove oil or grease residuals.
To Clean the Grease Filter
The metal grease filter has an unlimited life and must be washed once a month, either by hand or in a dishwasher at low temperature with a short cycle. Washing in a dishwasher may cause the filter to become dull, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.
Grease Filter Maintenance:
- Disconnect the hood from the electric power supply.
- Remove the grease filters: pull the spring release handle downwards, then remove the filter.
- After cleaning, remount the grease filter in reverse order, ensuring the entire extraction surface is covered.
Charcoal Filter Maintenance (Recirculation Mode)
- Pull out the plug or disconnect the power supply.
- Remove the grease filter.
- If carbon filters are fitted (covering the motor impeller grilles) and need replacement, turn the central handle anti-clockwise to unlock them.
- Open the two filter shells.
- Pull out the two circular mats.
- Proceed in reverse order to fit the new filters.
- Refit the grease filters.
Unlike traditional charcoal filters, this type can be washed and reactivated. Clean monthly. The best method is a dishwasher wash at the highest temperature possible with normal detergent. Wash the filter alone to avoid unpleasant smells from food particles. After washing, dry the filter in the oven at 100°C for 10 minutes to reactivate it. The filter retains its odour-absorbing capacity for three years, after which it must be replaced.
Lamp Maintenance
The hood is equipped with an LED lighting system. LEDs provide optimum lighting, last up to 10 times longer than traditional lamps, and save 90% electrical energy.
For replacement, contact the Authorized Service Centre.
