1. General Instructions - Safety
Thank you for purchasing the SMARTBOX WiFi module. The SMARTBOX WiFi module allows remote control of your Hayward heat pump via a mobile device and a WiFi or 4G Internet connection. This manual provides installation and configuration information. Read carefully before proceeding. Illustrations are non-binding. The manufacturer is not liable for injury or damage due to installation errors, troubleshooting, or unnecessary maintenance. Follow instructions at all times. Keep this manual for future reference.
Authorised Personnel
Installation, electrical connections, maintenance, and repairs must be performed by an accredited professional according to local regulatory texts and standards. For France: Low-voltage electrical installation according to NF-C 15-100.

Installation Conditions
- Do not attempt to install this device yourself.
- Check the power cable. If damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service, or a qualified professional.
- Only use genuine spare parts.
- Failure to comply with recommendations will invalidate the warranty.
Conditions for Use
This device can be used by children aged 8 years and over, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities, or lacking experience or knowledge, if they are correctly monitored or have received safety instructions and understand the risks. Children must not play with the device. User cleaning and maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.

2.3 Description
The SMARTBOX WiFi module has the following components:
- 1. Configuring the 2.4 GHz Wifi network
- 2. Connecting to the 2.4 GHz Wifi network
- 3. Connecting to the Cloud
- 4. RS485 communication
- 5. Configuration/Reset button
- 6. MAC address
2.4 LED Status
The status of the SMARTBOX WiFi module is indicated by LEDs:

3. Installation
Important: Before installing the SMARTBOX WiFi module on the heat pump, switch off the mains power supply to the heat pump. Then follow the steps below.
3.1 SMARTBOX WIFI Module Purchased as an Accessory
Opening the Heat Pump
Follow the numbered steps in the diagrams to open the heat pump casing.
Connections
Connect the SMARTBOX WiFi module using the provided cables (A, B, B') as shown in the diagrams. Ensure correct connection points (1, 2, 3, 4) within the heat pump and to the module.
Secure the module (step 7) and connect it externally (step 8) as illustrated.
3.2 SMARTBOX WIFI Module Supplied with the Heat Pump
Opening
Follow the diagrams to access the connection point for the pre-installed module.
Connections
Connect the module (step 2) to the heat pump's internal board (step 3) and the external interface (step 4) as shown.
4. Pairing the SMARTBOX WiFi Module
Important: ⚠️ Do not use the SMARTBOX on a 5 GHz WiFi network.
- Switch on the heat pump.
- Download and install the Hayward Eyespool Inverter Connect application from your device's app store.
- Activate Bluetooth ⊛ on your smartphone.
- Scan the QR code provided in the manual [QR Code for Tutorial] to access the tutorial and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Upon successful pairing, the LEDs on the SMARTBOX WiFi module will indicate the status as shown in the diagram (refer to page 4 for LED status details).
- If the pairing is unsuccessful, repeat the tutorial, carefully following the application's instructions.

5.2 End of Life of the Device
The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin ?️ indicates that this product is electrical and electronic waste. It must not be disposed of with household waste, bulky items, or in landfills. At the end of its life, the device requires selective collection for recycling or reclamation. Specific collection circuits are available in the European Union and Norway. Contact the installer or local representative for collection, dismantling, and recycling. If the product contains batteries marked with this symbol, they may contain harmful or polluting substances and must be taken to a used battery collection point.
