SICCE ECOPOND 1-2 Pond Filter Instructions
This document provides instructions for the SICCE ECOPOND 1-2 pond filter.
Pond Preparation
Creating a pond is a rewarding garden feature. Choose an airy, sunny location, avoiding trees. Mark the desired shape with stakes. Dig a hole approximately 70 cm deep, creating a central area for the pump and a tiered edge for aquatic plants (Fig. 1). Level the bottom, add a thin layer of sand, and then lay the plastic liner or pre-formed basin. If using a liner, be careful not to puncture it. Temporarily secure the liner with stones. Add about 10 cm of medium-grain gravel to the bottom to create a natural base (Fig. 3). Fill the hole halfway with water to allow for final shaping of the tiered edge (Fig. 4).
Pump Positioning and Regulation
Prepare the ECOPOND pump according to the positioning and regulating instructions. Place the pump centrally within the pond, in an accessible area, at a depth of 60 cm (Fig. 5-6). Ensure the cable exits the pond in a safe location where it cannot be damaged. Fill the pond completely with water (Fig. 9). Trim any excess liner, leaving at least 15 cm protruding around the edge. This excess liner can be covered with natural stones, shaped stones, or waterproofed wooden beams for a decorative border (Fig. 10). Start the pump to create water features and maintain water clarity.
ECOPOND Pumps: These compact pumps feature a special folding support for stability. To open/close supports, simply turn them (Fig. 7). Before submerging, attach the chosen spray nozzle to the telescopic pipe. Insert accessories into the pump. Position the pump in the basin or fountain, and if it's not stable, place stones on top (Fig. 6). Adjust the pipe height so the spray is always above the water level. Plug the pump into a suitable power socket.
Telescopic Pipe Extension: If the pond is too deep, use the provided extension pipe to add 17 cm to the telescopic pipe's length. Insert the coupling into the extension pipe and connect it to the main telescopic pipe. The spray nozzle should be at the top end of the extension pipe (Fig. 8).
Water Flow Regulation: Adjust the water flow width and shape using the valve integrated into the telescopic pipe (Fig. 7). Turn the knob towards '+' to increase flow or '-' to decrease it. Further adjustments can be made by modifying the spray nozzle itself.
Water Flow Deviation: To create streams or waterfalls, connect a 10 mm (ECOPOND 1) or 22 mm (ECOPOND 2) flexible pipe to the side outlet of the valve. Use the tap on the outlet to regulate the flow by turning the knob. This diverts some water to the side outlet, creating a branching flow (Fig. 8).
Safety Regulations
Before any work on the pump or filter, disconnect power to all submerged electrical devices. Do not install if the cable or pump are damaged. The power cable cannot be replaced; if damaged, the appliance must be scrapped. The product complies with current safety standards. Ensure the pump's voltage matches the mains voltage. Use a residual current device (RCD) with a rated current not exceeding 30 mA.
Important: The pump must not operate without water and should only be used in liquids with a temperature not exceeding 35°C.
Maintenance of ECOPOND
Clean the ECOPOND every 4-5 months. Before any maintenance, disconnect the power supply and follow safety regulations. Remove the filter by its handle, unscrew and remove the telescopic tube, and release the lid by turning it counter-clockwise (Fig. 11). Remove outer modules by lifting them upwards (Fig. 12). Rinse the sponge thoroughly under running water (Fig. 13). If the pump needs cleaning, remove internal rings by pushing outwards on the three hooking teeth (Fig. 14). Remove the pump from the base by unhooking the four fixing teeth (Fig. 15). Reassemble in reverse order, aligning arrows on outer modules with the cable outlet (Fig. 16).
The ECOPOND 1-2 pumps are centrifugal pumps with magnetic drive, powered by a watertight synchronous motor. They require minimal maintenance, primarily periodic cleaning of the filtering material and rotor. Wash all parts in lukewarm water with a soft brush to remove scale, then reassemble in reverse order.
Spray Head Adjustment and Maintenance
To adjust the water jet size, use the valve on the telescopic pipe. You can also vary the shape of the WATERBELL and WATERLILY sprays by turning their central cones.
If a spray head is not working correctly, remove and dismantle it:
- WATERBELL and WATERLILY: Completely unscrew central cone A.
- SINGLE DAISY and DOUBLE DAISY: Turn external ring nut B counter-clockwise.
- LARGE WATERBELL: Completely unscrew central cone C.
- SMALL DAISY - 3 STAGES: Turn top part D counter-clockwise.
Wash spray heads carefully in lukewarm water, removing any scale with a soft brush.
Guarantee
This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. The guarantee certificate must be completed by the dealer and accompany the appliance for repair, along with the proof of purchase. The guarantee covers replacement of faulty parts. Improper use, tampering, or negligence by the buyer or user will void the guarantee. The guarantee is also void without proof of purchase. Shipping and return costs are borne by the buyer.
