Getting to Know Your Drone
Please read all warnings and instructions prior to use. This document contains important information about your Drone Aero Stunt LED.
Drone Overview
The Sharper Image Drone Aero Stunt LED is a quadcopter design with four propellers. It features a central body, landing feet, and stripe blade guards around each propeller. A status light is located on the front of the drone. An ON/OFF switch is present on the drone's body.
The remote control features two joysticks (left and right), various buttons for flight functions (Flip, Flight, Navigation and Stunts), and trimming controls (Left/Right, Forward/Backward). It also has an Auto Orientation button and an ON/OFF switch.
Charging
- Drone must be charged before each use (USB Charge Cable included).
- Indicator light on the drone will turn off once fully charged.
- Install batteries in the remote.
Drone Charging: Turn off the drone before charging. Connect the USB Charge Cable to the charge port on the drone. Connect the USB connector to a power source. The red rear light on the drone will light up while charging and turn off when fully charged. Charge time is approximately 120 minutes.
Remote Control Battery Installation: Loosen the screw at the bottom of the remote using a Phillips or cross screwdriver to remove the battery cover. Install 4 AA 1.5V batteries as shown in the diagram, ensuring correct polarity. Replace the cover and tighten the screw.
⚠️ RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WARNING: Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the item before being charged. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the item. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of this product in a fire, as batteries inside may explode or leak.
⚠️ BATTERY WARNING: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Remove batteries from the unit when not in use for an extended period. Always remove exhausted batteries from the unit. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of this product in a fire, as batteries inside may explode or leak.
Pairing
Before each flight, pair the remote with the drone:
- Turn your drone on and place it on a flat, level surface.
- Turn on the remote.
- Push the left joystick up and then down.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 if necessary.
IMPORTANT! After a hard landing, turn the drone and remote off. Then, repeat pairing!
Note: If there is more than one unpaired drone within 12 feet, one must be successfully paired before others may be paired.
Direction
- The head of the Drone Aero Stunt LED is the front of the drone.
- The tail of the Drone Aero Stunt LED is the back of the drone.
- Not applicable in auto-orientation mode.
Remote Control
Practice flying your drone below 10 feet and at low speeds until comfortable with all controls to avoid unnecessary damage or injury.
- Left joystick:
- Up/Down: controls elevation.
- Left/Right: controls spin.
- Right joystick: controls flight direction.
- Direction Trim: use to eliminate drift.
To cut power to the drone, move the left joystick to the down position.
Operating Drone
Pre-Flight Checklist
- Read all warnings and instructions.
- Install remote batteries (page 4).
- Make sure that the drone and remote are powered off.
- Install the drone holder.
- Charge batteries (page 4).
Pre-Flight Setup: Ensure the remote is off. Slide the drone onto a flat, even surface. For ease of control, the red lights should be toward you.
Pairing Visual: Turn on the remote control, push the left joystick up and then down. The drone's lights will flicker during the pairing process and become solid once it has paired.
Choose an Indoor Location
Choose an indoor location with approximately 10 feet of open space. Avoid flying near furniture, walls, or other objects. The diagram shows a person standing within a 10-foot diameter clear area.
Take Off
Take Off Procedure: With the drone on a flat, even surface, press the orange FLIGHT button to lift off. The drone will elevate 1 to 2 feet off the ground and hover.
Land
Landing Procedure: There are two ways to land the drone: slowly and carefully press the right joystick (ROTATE) down until it lands, or press the orange FLIGHT button to trigger auto landing.
Note: If the drone begins to drift, you can still control the drone's direction using the Navigation button.
Fine-Tuning/Direction
Drifts Left and Right: To correct left drift, push the right joystick right. To correct right drift, push the right joystick left.
Hover Up and Down: To increase elevation, push the left joystick up. To decrease elevation, push the left joystick down.
Rotate Left and Right: To rotate left, push the left joystick left. To rotate right, push the left joystick right.
Drifts Forwards and Backwards: To correct forward drift, push the right joystick down. To correct backward drift, push the right joystick up.
Forward and Backward Flight: To fly forward, push the right joystick up. To fly backward, push the right joystick down.
Sideways Flight: To fly left, push the right joystick left. To fly right, push the right joystick right.
Stunt Modes
Note: Do not start a stunt within 8 inches of your ceiling.
Flip Stunts (360°)
Hover the drone at least 6.5 feet above the ground. Press the Flip button. Move the Navigation joystick in the direction you would like the drone to flip.
Flip Stunts Visuals: The diagrams illustrate the drone performing a 360-degree flip in various directions (forward, backward, left, right) based on the joystick input after pressing the Flip button.
Turn Stunts
Hover the drone at least 6.5 feet above the ground.
- Corkscrew Left: Press the stunt button and move the right joystick left.
- Corkscrew Right: Press the stunt button and move the right joystick right.
- Left Twist 360: Press the stunt button and move the left joystick left.
- Right Twist 360: Press the stunt button and move the left joystick right.
Turn Stunts Visuals: Diagrams show the drone performing corkscrew and twist stunts, indicating the required joystick movements.
Maneuver Stunts
Hover the drone at least 6.5 feet above the ground.
- Leap Frog: Press the stunt button and move the right joystick up.
- Fade Away: Press the stunt button and move the right joystick down.
- Banked Loop Left: Press the stunt button and move the right joystick left.
- Banked Loop Right: Press the stunt button and move the right joystick right.
Maneuver Stunts Visuals: Diagrams depict the drone performing leap frog, fade away, and banked loop maneuvers, showing the corresponding joystick inputs.
Auto-Orientation
When the drone is in auto-orientation mode, the drone will orient to the user (remote), no matter what direction the drone is facing.
Activating Auto-Orientation: Press the Auto-Orientation button for 2 seconds to activate it (the drone will beep twice). To deactivate, press the button again (the drone will beep once).
Tips & Troubleshooting
Tips
- Do not crash the drone into sand or dirt. Drone gears may become clogged.
- When first learning to fly, practice lifting off and hovering indoors.
- Always keep the drone in viewing distance.
- Stay several feet from walls and buildings.
- Always press throttle all the way down after crashing or when something gets stuck in propellers.
- Never fly drones above or near people; sudden changes in wind or other conditions could lead to unexpected crashes.
- Always use caution when flying drone vehicles, obey relevant laws, respect the privacy and property rights of others.
- The drone shall never be modified or used for anything except its intended purpose.

Troubleshooting
- When remote switch is turned on, the remote light does not illuminate:
- Check that batteries in the remote are installed correctly.
- Replace with new batteries.
- During flight, the Remote Power LED is flashing:
- Remote batteries are low. Land the drone immediately.
- Replace old batteries.
- Drone and remote properly pair, but the drone will not lift-off:
- Drone battery needs charging. Use the USB Charge Cable to connect the drone to a power source.
- After trimming the drone, flight is very unstable and it cannot fly properly:
- One or more blades are most likely damaged. Replace with the proper number replacement blade and try flying again (page 3).
- Press the thumbstick down for 5 seconds to reset the gyroscope.
- Turn off the drone and remote, then repeat the pairing process (page 6).
- Remote and drone cannot be paired:
- Remote must be within 12 feet of the drone.

- DO NOT TOUCH SPINNING PROPELLERS.
- Do not allow anything to intentionally make contact in any way with spinning propellers.
- Prevent contact with spinning blades by turning off the remote prior to handling the drone.
- Use caution and pay attention to your surroundings while operating the drone.
- Do not fly the drone into animals, people, or inanimate objects.
- Keep the drone away from power lines, buildings, trees, public areas, and any other potentially hazardous areas.
- Do not operate the drone in heavy wind, or any type of severe weather.
- Do not land the drone on wet surfaces.
- Never touch or allow others to touch the drone while it is flying.
- Always turn the drone off when it is not in use.
- Always fly the drone in large open areas.
- Always keep the drone in viewing distance.
- Fly outdoors at your own risk. Sudden wind changes or other conditions may lead to unexpected crashes and fly-aways.
Propeller Replacement
The drone comes with replacement propellers. To remove a broken propeller, pull it firmly. To install a new one, push it firmly and carefully. Each blade has a letter on it (A, B). Match the blades with the corresponding letter on the drone.
