Product Overview
This document provides instructions for operating the Sharper Image Drone Aero Stunt LED. It covers setup, flight, stunts, and troubleshooting.
1. Pre-Flight Checklist
Before flying, ensure the following:
- Read all warnings and instructions.
- Remote control is powered off.
- Install remote batteries (page 4).
- Drone and remote are powered off.
- Install drone holder.
- Charge drone batteries (page 4).
2. Operating the Drone
Pairing Drone
- Turn the drone switch to ON. Place the drone on a flat, even surface. For ease of control, the red lights should be towards you.
- Turn on the remote control.
- Push the left stick up and then down. The drone's lights will flicker during pairing and remain on once paired.
- Repeat steps if necessary.
Take Off
Hover the drone to at least 6.5 feet. Press the orange FLIGHT button to lift off. The drone will elevate and hover.
Hovering and Direction Control
- Hover Up and Down: Use the left stick.
- Rotate Left and Right: Use the left stick.
- Drifts Left and Right: Use the direction trim controls.
- Drifts Forwards and Backwards: Use the direction trim controls.
- Sideways Movement: Use the right stick.
Landing
To land the drone:
- Slowly and carefully press the left stick (FLIGHT AND ROTATE) down. The drone lands.
- If the drone begins to drift, use the navigation controls to maintain direction.
3. Stunt Modes
Flip Stunts
Press the Flip button, then move the navigation button to the direction you want the drone to flip.
- Corkscrew Left
- Corkscrew Right
- Left Twist 360
- Right Twist 360
Turn Stunts
Perform 360-degree turns.
Maneuver Stunts
- Leap Frog
- Fade Away
- Banked Loop Left
- Banked Loop Right
Note: Do not start a stunt within 8 inches of your ceiling.
4. Fine-Tuning/Direction
Use the direction trim controls to eliminate drift and stabilize the drone's flight.
5. Auto-Orientation
Press the Auto-Orientation button. When in auto-orientation mode, the drone will orient itself to the user.
6. Charging and Battery
Drone Charging
- Turn off the drone before charging.
- Connect the USB Charge Cable to the drone's charge port and a power source.
- The indicator light will turn off when the battery is fully charged. Charge time is approximately 120 minutes.
Remote Battery Installation
- Loosen the bottom of the remote using a Phillips or cross screwdriver to remove the battery cover.
- Install 1.5V batteries as shown.
WARNING: Only use the provided USB cable for charging.
7. Replacing Propellers
- Pull firmly to remove a broken propeller.
- Match the letter on the new propeller with the corresponding letter on the drone.
- Push the new propeller firmly and carefully into place.
8. General Warnings and Safety
- Not recommended for children under 14 years of age. Adult supervision is required.
- Observe precautions during handling and use to reduce the risk of electrical shock.
- Always use caution when flying, obey laws, and respect privacy and property rights.
- Do not touch spinning propellers.
- Do not allow anything to intentionally make contact with spinning propellers.
- Prevent contact with spinning blades by turning off the remote before handling the drone.
- Do not fly the drone into animals, people, or inanimate objects.
- Pay attention to your surroundings while operating the drone.
- Keep the drone away from power lines, buildings, trees, public areas, and hazardous areas.
- Do not operate in heavy wind or severe weather.
- Do not land the drone on wet surfaces.
- Always keep the drone within viewing distance.
- Fly outdoors at your own risk. Sudden wind changes can lead to unexpected crashes.
- Do not crash the drone into sand or dirt, as gears may become clogged.
- When learning to fly, practice lifting off and hovering indoors at low speeds.
- Stay several feet from walls and buildings.
- Always press the throttle all the way down after crashing or if something gets stuck in the propellers.
- The drone shall never be modified or used for anything except its intended purpose.
FAA WARNING: This drone weighs 0.187 lbs (85g). As of November 2017, the FAA requires registration for unmanned aircraft weighing more than 0.55lbs. Visit www.faa.gov/uas/ for more information. Compliance with Federal, state, and local laws is the owner's responsibility.

9. Tips & Troubleshooting
Tips
- When first learning to fly, practice lifting off and hovering indoors.
- Always keep the drone in viewing distance.
- Stay several feet from walls and buildings.
Troubleshooting
- Remote light does not illuminate: Check battery installation, replace batteries.
- Remote Power LED flashing during flight: Remote batteries are low; land immediately and replace batteries.
- Drone will not lift-off after pairing: Drone battery needs charging.
- Unstable flight after trimming: Check propeller condition and replace if damaged; reset gyroscope by pressing the thumbstick down for 5 seconds; repeat pairing process.
- Remote and drone cannot be paired: Ensure remote is within 12 feet of the drone. If multiple drones are present, pair one successfully before attempting others.
