- Transport the unit vertically. If not possible, secure at an angle, not horizontally.
- Drain the unit before transporting. Wait at least 4 hours after transportation before switching on.
- Packaging materials are recyclable.
- The appliance has a safety device that prevents the compressor from switching on again for at least 3 minutes after it switches off.

Installation
Electrical Connections
Before plugging in, check:
- Mains power supply matches the rating plate.
- Mains socket and electrical circuit are adequate.
- Mains socket matches the plug.
- Mains socket is adequately earthed.
Failure to follow these instructions absolves the manufacturer of liability. The power cable must be replaced by a qualified professional.
Air-Conditioning Without Installation
Steps to ensure comfort:
- Fit the air exhaust hose 13 into the housing 8 at the back of the appliance.
- For sash windows: place the bracket 17 on the window sill, extend it, fix with the pin, lower the window onto the bracket. Insert the window outlet 14 of the exhaust hose 13 into the slot and connect to the air conditioner.
- For double windows: use the sucker to hold the two parts of the window together.
Keep air hoses as short and free of curves as possible to avoid constrictions.
Semi-Permanent Installation
If required, the appliance can be installed semi-permanently.
- Drill a 5.25-inch (134 mm) hole in an outside wall or window pane, respecting the dimensions and height shown in figures F and G.
- Fit the wall flange 11 into the hole.
- Fit the air exhaust hose 13 into the relevant hose location on the rear of the appliance.
- Fit the end of the hose 13 to the wall flange 11.
NOTE: When installing semi-permanently, leave a door slightly open (1/2" or 1 cm) for ventilation.
Special tools may be required; professional installation is recommended.

Operating from the Control Panel
- Turning the Appliance On: Plug into the mains socket. Press the 15 button. The last function active when turned off will appear.
- Never turn off by unplugging. Always press the 15 button, wait a few minutes before unplugging to allow the appliance to perform checks.
Operation Modes
Air Conditioning Mode
Ideal for hot, muggy weather.
- Press MODE until the air-conditioning symbol appears.
- Select target temperature using the +/- buttons.
- Select fan speed using the FAN button. Speeds: Maximum, Medium, Low, AUTO.
Recommended temperature: 75°F to 81°F (24°C to 27°C).
Dehumidifying Mode
Ideal for reducing room humidity.
- Press MODE until the dehumidifying symbol appears.
- The air exhaust hose must be attached.
- Fan speed is automatic and cannot be set manually.
Fan Mode
The air hose does not need to be attached.
- Press MODE until the fan symbol appears.
- Select fan speed using the FAN button. Speeds: Maximum, Medium, Low. AUTO speed cannot be selected.
Smart Mode
The appliance automatically chooses between air conditioning or fan mode. Fan speed is also set automatically.
- Press MODE until the SMART symbol appears.
Boost Function
Cools rooms rapidly.
- Press the BOOST button.
- Operates in air conditioning mode at maximum fan speed. Temperature and fan speed cannot be changed.

Using the Remote Control
- Point the remote at the receiver. Maximum range is 23 ft (7 meters).
- Handle with care; do not drop or expose to heat.
- Inserting/Replacing Batteries: Remove cover, insert two “AAA” 1.5V batteries correctly, replace cover. Dispose of batteries responsibly. Do not mix old/new, alkaline/carbon-zinc/rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of in fire. Remove batteries if not in use for a long time.
- Setting the Time: Press +/- buttons until correct time is reached. Hold to advance rapidly. Press OK to confirm. Press RESET to cancel settings.
- Refer to the control panel section for basic operations (turning on, mode selection, fan speed).
- Boost Function: Press the BOOST button for rapid cooling.
- Sleep Function: Press the SLEEP button for gradual temperature reduction and silent operation. Temperature increases by 2°F (1°C) after 60 minutes and 4°F (2°C) after 2 hours during air conditioning.
- Selecting Temperature Scale: Press the °C/°F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Programming the Timer:
- Start Up: Press the Timer ON button. Set time using +/- buttons. Press OK to confirm. The timer symbol will appear.

Self-Diagnosis
The appliance has a self-diagnosis system to identify malfunctions. Error messages are displayed on the appliance.

Tips
- Close windows and doors for best performance, except when installed through a wall, where slight draught is recommended for ventilation.
- Protect the room from direct sun by closing curtains/blinds to improve efficiency.
- Never rest objects on the air conditioner.
- Do not obstruct air intake (7) or outlet (1) grilles.
- Ensure there are no heat sources in the room.
- Never use the appliance in very damp rooms or outdoors.
- Ensure the air conditioner is on a level floor. Use castor locks (15) if necessary.
Cleaning
- Turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance.
- Cleaning the Cabinet: Use a slightly damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth. Do not use petrol, alcohol, solvents, or insecticide sprays. Never wash with water.
- Cleaning the Air Filters: Clean the dust filter weekly. Remove the filter upwards. Use a vacuum cleaner or rinse in warm water (max 104°F/40°C). Dry thoroughly before replacing.
Start of Season Checks
- Ensure the power cable and plug are undamaged and the earth system is efficient.
- Follow installation instructions precisely.
End of Season Operations
- Empty the internal circuit of water: remove the cap, run off water into a basin, replace the cap.
- Clean and dry the filter thoroughly before storing.

Limited Warranty
De'Longhi AIR CONDITIONER is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the purchase date, covering free parts and labor. An additional four (4) years of warranty covers parts of the sealed system (compressor, evaporator, condenser, factory-connected refrigerant tubing). Labor and other parts during this extended period are the owner's responsibility.
All repairs require shipping to an authorized De'Longhi service center at the owner's expense; De'Longhi covers return shipping costs.
After five years, all expenses (parts, labor, shipping) are the owner's responsibility.
This warranty applies only if the AIR CONDITIONER is used according to factory directions and on an AC circuit.
This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties and representations. De'Longhi does not authorize others to assume liability.
Warranty does not apply to units repaired/altered outside the factory or subjected to misuse, negligence, or accidents.
