Introduction
The DigiTech® Ventura Vibe is a stereo vibrato/rotary pedal designed for guitarists seeking high-quality vibrato/rotary effects in a compact package. It offers 3 versatile effects, true bypass, constant high voltage operation, and true stereo processing, making it an essential addition for players valuing sound quality and performance.
Effects Included
- Vintage Vibrato (based on the legendary Uni-Vibe®)
- Modern Vibrato
- Rotary (effect based on a rotating Leslie® speaker cabinet)
To use the pedal, enable the effect with the Footswitch (indicated by the LED). Set the MIX control to the 3 o'clock position. Select the desired effect type with the TYPE switch. Adjust the TONE, DRIVE, DEPTH, and SPEED controls to achieve the desired sound. Re-adjust the MIX control for the desired blend of wet and dry signals.
Features
- 3 Effects in a Single Pedal
- Effect Type Switch
- Controls for Speed, Depth, Mix, Drive, & Tone
- True Bypass
- Stereo 1/4" Inputs & Outputs with True Stereo Processing
- Constant High Voltage Power Rails
- Effect On/Off LED Indicator
- Soft Touch Vacuum Switch
- Included StompLock™ & Pedalboard Hook & Loop Pad
User Interface
The pedal features a central graphic with numbered controls:
- 1. Effect Type Selector Switch: Selects between VINTAGE, MODERN, and ROTARY effects.
- 2. DC Power Jack: Connect the specified Harman power supply (sold separately) here. Use the correct power supply for your region's mains voltage.
- 3. DEPTH Knob: Controls the intensity of modulation effects. Clockwise increases intensity, counter-clockwise decreases it.
- 4. TONE Knob: Adjusts the amount of high frequencies in the effect signal. Clockwise increases highs, counter-clockwise decreases them. At 12 o'clock, there is no boost or cut.
- 5. DRIVE Knob: Controls the amount of drive/distortion. Clockwise increases drive/distortion, counter-clockwise reduces it.
- 6. Input 1 (Mono): Use for single connection. Connect your instrument, a pedal output, or an amp effects send. Signals are heard at both outputs when only this jack is used.
- 7. Indicator LED: Lights red when the effect is turned on.
- 8. Input 2: Connect a second input for stereo operation. Inputs 1 and 2 are processed separately for true stereo separation.
- 9. Footswitch: Turns the effect on or off.
- 10. SPEED Knob: Controls the rate of the modulation effect. Clockwise increases rate, counter-clockwise decreases it. Holding the Footswitch while the effect is on ramps the speed up to maximum for the selected type. Releasing it returns the speed to the knob's setting.
- 11. MIX Knob: Controls the blend of the effected signal with the dry (unprocessed) signal. Clockwise for more effect, counter-clockwise for less.
- 12. Output 1 (Mono): Connect to a single guitar amplifier or amp effects return.
- 13. Output 2: Connect to a second guitar amplifier for stereo use. When only Input 1 is used, signals are heard in both outputs.
Making Connections/Applying Power
To connect the Ventura Vibe pedal to your rig:
- Turn down the amplifier's master volume control.
- Make all audio connections as shown in the connection diagrams.
- Connect the appropriate Harman power supply (not included) to the POWER input connector and plug it into an AC outlet.
- Strum your guitar and gradually increase your amplifier's master volume control until the desired level is achieved.
Connection Diagrams
Mono/Stereo Amplifier Setup
This setup involves connecting your guitar to Input 1 (Mono) of the Ventura Vibe. Output 1 (Mono) and Output 2 can then be connected to one or two amplifiers, respectively. A Harman Power Supply connects to the DC Power Jack. Unbalanced TS instrument cables are recommended for audio connections.
Amplifier Effects Loop Setup
For this setup, connect your guitar to Input 1 (Mono). Output 1 (Mono) connects to the amplifier's FX RETURN jack, and the amplifier's FX SEND jack connects to the pedal's Input 1 (Mono). A Harman Power Supply connects to the DC Power Jack. Unbalanced TS instrument cables are recommended. If the amp's effects loop has a mix control, set it to 100% full wet.
