How to Make a Time Lapse Video
The Brinno TLC200 Pro is designed for easy time-lapse creation. The following outlines general steps:
Example: Capturing a Sunset Time Lapse
To create a time-lapse video of a sunset:
- Step 1: Mount and power on the camera.
- Step 2: Configure essential settings such as Time Lapse Frame Rate, Exposure, and Scene mode (e.g., 'Twilight' or 'Daylight').
- Step 3: Press the 'OK' button to start recording [▶️ Recording].
- Step 4: Allow the camera to complete the recording session.
- Step 5: The camera will process the footage [⚙️ Processing].
- Step 6: The recording is finished [✔️ Finish].
Note: For optimal results, experiment with different settings based on lighting conditions and desired video speed.
Example: Capturing in a Low Light Environment
For shooting in dimly lit conditions:
- Ensure the 'Low Light Recording' setting is enabled [⚙️ Settings > Low Light Recording: on].
- Consider adjusting the 'Exposure' and 'Scene' settings (e.g., 'Night' or 'Twilight').

- Options: 1 FPS, 5 FPS, 10 FPS, 15 FPS, 20 FPS, 30 FPS.
- White Balance Mode: Adjusts the color temperature to accurately represent white under different lighting conditions.
- Options: Auto, 5000 Day (Daylight), 7000 Shad (Shady), 6000 Clou (Cloudy), 4000 FL-C (Fluorescent - Cool), 3300 FL-W (Fluorescent - Warm), 2800 Inc (Incandescent).
- Image Quality: Select the quality of the captured images.
- Options: Best, Better, Good.
- Scene: Pre-set camera configurations optimized for specific environments.
- Options: Daylight, Twilight, Night, Moon, Star.
- Timer: Allows you to set specific start and stop times for recording sessions.
- HDR Range: Adjusts High Dynamic Range settings to capture more detail in both bright and dark areas of an image.
- Options: High, Medium, Low.
- Exposure: Controls the amount of light that reaches the camera sensor, affecting image brightness.
Advanced & System Settings:
- Set Time Interval: This setting defines the duration between each captured frame. This is crucial for controlling the speed of your time-lapse video.
- Options: ASAP (as fast as possible), 30 Sec, 1 Sec, 1 Min, 2 Sec, 5 Min, 3 Sec, 10 Min, 5 Sec, 1 Hr, 10 Sec, Custom (allows setting a specific interval, e.g., 20 Sec).
- Custom Image: Personalize image characteristics.
- Saturation: Adjusts the intensity of colors.
- Contrast: Modifies the difference between light and dark areas.
- Sharpness: Controls the level of detail and edge definition.
- Time Stamp: Overlay the date and time onto the recorded footage.
- Options: off, on.
- Low Light Recording: Optimizes camera settings for improved performance in low-light conditions.
- Options: off, on.
- Set Date & Time: Configure the camera's internal clock and calendar.
- LED Indicator: Control the status LED light on the camera.
- Options: off, on.
- Band Filter: Select the appropriate frequency for your region to avoid flicker from artificial lighting.
- Options: None, 50Hz (common in Europe/Asia), 60Hz (common in North America).
- Firmware Version: Displays the current version of the camera's software.
- RESET: Resets all camera settings to their factory defaults [⚙️ RESET].
