WiFi Access Control User Manual
A comprehensive guide to setting up and managing your WiFi Access Control smart lock system.
Introduction
This device is a WiFi-based Touch Key Access Controller & RFID Reader. It allows users to easily access doors via a mobile application (TuyaSmart or Smartlife) installed on their smartphone. The application supports up to 500 mobile users and can manage a maximum of 1000 users, including those using Fingerprint, PIN, or Card credentials.
APP Operation
1. Free APP Downloading
To get started, download the mobile application by searching for "TuyaSmart" or "Smartlife" on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Ensure your mobile phone has a working WiFi connection.
2. Register & Login
Register an account using a valid email address, which is essential for password recovery. The option to use a mobile number is exclusively for China Mobile users. Upon registration, you will agree to the User Agreement and Privacy Policy. A verification code will be sent to your registered email address.
The app interface guides users through the registration and login processes.
3. Add Device
To add your WiFi Access Control device, navigate to the 'Add Device' section or tap the '+' icon. It is recommended to enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, as this facilitates faster device discovery and addition. The app presents various device categories; select "Smart Lock". You will then be prompted to choose your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Before proceeding, ensure the device is reset and the smart door lock is functioning normally. Confirm that the device's indicator light is blinking rapidly to signify it's ready for pairing. Upon successful pairing, the device will be added to your account.
Note: Creating a Home
To effectively manage your devices and family members, it is necessary to create a "HOME" within the application before proceeding with device management.
Attention: Remote Unlock Setting
When you first open the lock using the app, you will be prompted to enable the 'remote unlock' feature.
4. User Management
4.1 Add Members
For members to be added, they must first register their own account. The Home Owner (Super Master) has the authority to designate users as either Administrators or Ordinary members.
4.2 Manage Members
The Home Owner can define the access duration for members, choosing between permanent access or limited timeframes. This includes setting specific effective and ineffective times, repeat schedules, and valid days of the week.
4.3 Delete Members
Members can be removed from the system by selecting them within the app and initiating the delete function.
4.4 Add Users (Fingerprint/PIN/Card)
The application supports the addition of users via fingerprint, PIN, or card. For fingerprint registration, users are instructed to touch the identification area multiple times with the same finger at various angles to ensure accurate recognition. The process for adding PIN and Card users is similar to adding fingerprint users.
4.5 Delete Users (Fingerprint/PIN/Card)
Users registered via fingerprint, PIN, or card can also be deleted following a similar procedure to deleting a fingerprint user.
5. Temporary Code
Temporary access codes can be generated and shared with guests or users through messaging applications like WhatsApp, Skype, WeChat, or via email. There are two types of temporary codes:
- Cyclicity: Allows for scheduled access, for example, valid from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM every Monday through Friday during specific months (e.g., August-October).
- Once: A one-time code that is valid for a limited duration (e.g., 6 hours) and can only be used a single time.
5.1 Edit Temporary Code
Temporary codes can be managed within the app; they can be deleted, edited, or renamed while they are still valid.
6. Setting
- 6.1 Remote Unlock Setting: By default, this feature is off. It is prompted during the initial device setup. If disabled, mobile users will not be able to access the lock via the app.
- 6.2 Automatic Lock: This feature is enabled by default. It can operate in Pulse Mode (when Automatic Lock is on) or Latch Mode (when Automatic Lock is off).
- 6.3 Auto Lock Time: The default setting is 5 seconds, with a configurable range from 0 to 100 seconds.
- 6.4 Alarm Time: The default alarm duration is 1 minute, adjustable from 1 to 3 minutes.
- 6.5 Key Volume: Users can adjust the key volume to Mute, Low, Middle, or High.
7. Log (Including Open History and Alarms)
The log feature provides a record of all access events, including door opening history and any triggered alarms. This includes details such as unlock events by code, fingerprint, or card, as well as alarms for incorrect entry attempts (wrong card, code, or finger).
8. Remove Device & Reset WiFi Binding
- Disconnect: This action removes the device from the application. Existing user credentials (card, fingerprint, code) remain active. However, if the Super Master disconnects, all other members will lose access to the device.
- Disconnect and Wipe Data: This option unbinds the device from the current WiFi network and resets its WiFi configuration, allowing it to be connected by new users.
- Method 2 to Reset WiFi: This method involves using a Master Code. The default Master Code is 123456. To change the Master Code, refer to a separate user manual.
ATTENTION: Unsupported Features
The WiFi version of this device does not support the following features:
- 'Change PIN'
- 'Card + PIN' Access Mode
Tips for PIN Security: The system allows users to enhance PIN security by hiding their correct PIN with additional numbers, up to a maximum of 9 digits.
