LEDVANCE LED Tube T8 and T5 HF Ballast Compatibility Guide 2025
This document provides essential information regarding the compatibility of LEDVANCE LED Tube T8 Universal, T8 HF, and T5 HF products with various electronic ballasts (ECGs). It is intended for informational purposes and should be treated as a recommendation.
Important Notice
The compatibility list is based on testing conducted by LEDVANCE in a simulated laboratory environment. Actual results may vary in field applications due to a multitude of factors. LEDVANCE assumes no responsibility or liability for results achieved under different conditions, with successor models, or with different models from the same manufacturer. Failure to adhere to the instructions may lead to safety risks, such as flickering, no light, overheating, premature aging, or device failure. Luminous flux may also change depending on the ballast used. These LED tubes are designed for general lighting and are not intended for use in explosive atmospheres.
The operating temperature range for these lamps is restricted. For any doubts regarding application suitability, please consult LEDVANCE GmbH. Please note that T8 Universal, HF, and T5 HF LED tubes have only been tested with HF ballasts on AC operation. The performance of ballasts with DC operation has not been tested and is therefore not guaranteed. Since only the lamp is replaced, no constructive modification to the luminaire is required.
How to Check and Read Compatibility List
Step 1: Check Ballast (ECG) Reference Number
Verify the exact ECG reference number and compare it with the compatibility list. Checking only the ECG name and brand is not sufficient to prove compatibility. For example, OSRAM QT-FIT8 1X36 or PHILIPS HF-P 254/255.
Step 2: Check if ECG is Released in the Compatibility List
Refer to the provided tables to confirm if your specific ballast model is listed as compatible ('OK') or not compatible ('NO'). Some entries may be marked with an asterisk (*) indicating compatibility but with a potential ±10% luminous flux deviation compared to the claimed value.
Step 3: Operating Temperature Range
The operating temperature range of the LED tube is restricted. If you have any doubts about the suitability for your application, please measure the 'Tc max' temperature on the marked Tc point on the product.
