What is Velvet?

Velvet is crafted using a traditional weaving technique that results in a fabric with a warm, deep color, a soft surface, a dense pile, and a light, reflective shine. Its unique light reflection can make the color appear to change. Small fibers may naturally appear on the surface but will disappear over time or can be removed with a garment roll. Press marks may also occur but typically fade with time. These can be gently smoothed by hand in the direction of the pile, brushed with a fabric brush, or vacuumed with a soft nozzle.

Care Instructions

To ensure your velvet maintains its look and feel, regular care according to the product's included instructions is essential.

Fixed Covers

• Do not wash.
• Do not bleach.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Do not dry clean.
• Do not iron.

Removable Covers

• Do not wash.
• Do not bleach.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Steam iron is recommended.
• Professional dry cleaning is permitted using tetrachloroethene and hydrocarbons, following a normal process.
• Steam can be used on the fabric/pile with the face side up.
• The velvet cover can be ironed on the reverse side at a low temperature (110°C).

General Care Tips

• For removable covers: Iron the velvet cover on the reverse side at a low temperature (110°C) before putting it on your sofa for the first time.
• Do not iron the velvet on the pile side, as this can damage the pile.
• Use a steamer to restore the fabric, or use the steam function on an iron without pressing directly onto the fabric.
• Wet marks should be dried off as soon as possible to prevent moisture penetration.
• Light stains can be removed with a sponge dampened in water or a mild soapy solution.
• Remove dust with a lint remover.

Important Note: For sofas and armchairs with removable cushions where another fabric is sewn to the edge, washing the covers is not recommended. This is because the cover's color may appear different on various parts of the sofa.
