Assembling your machine
Lift your machine out of the box by its base using both hands. Do not lift by the loop amplifier.
For models supplied with a HEPA+Carbon filter:
Push the HEPA+Carbon filter into the outer cover and position it onto the base. Push firmly until both outer covers click securely into place.
For models supplied with separate HEPA and carbon filters:
Push the carbon filters into place on the machine. Then, push the HEPA filter into the outer cover. Position the outer covers onto the base and push firmly until they both click securely into place.

Getting started
Place the remote control on top of the machine with the buttons facing down.
Plug in the machine and switch it on.

Remote Control Layout:
The remote control features the following buttons:
- Standby on/off: Power button, located on the top left.
- Information menu: Accesses monitored information, located on the top right.
- Airflow speed: Toggle button to adjust fan speed, located in the middle left.
- Auto mode: Activates automatic adjustment based on air quality, located below the Information menu button on the right.
- Airflow direction: Button to change airflow direction, located below the Auto mode button.
- Oscillation on/off: Controls air circulation, located on the bottom left.
- Night mode: Activates quiet settings and dimmed screen, located at the bottom right.
Power and continuous monitoring
Stand-by on/off
Press the Standby on/off button on the machine or remote control to stop the fan. The machine will continue to monitor air quality in standby mode.
Continuous monitoring
Continuous monitoring is turned off by default. When activated, it remains on until manually switched off.
With continuous monitoring enabled, the Dyson purifying fan gathers air quality, temperature, and humidity information, displayed on the LCD screen.
To turn continuous monitoring on, press and hold the Auto mode button on the remote control for 5 seconds. The LCD screen will indicate the status.
Information menu
Press the Information menu button on the remote control to scroll through monitored information, including air quality, temperature, humidity, and filter levels.
When a specific pollutant affects air quality, a corresponding symbol will appear on the LCD screen.

Monitored Information:
- Indoor air quality: Displays a graph of the last 12 seconds of air quality data.
- Particulate matter (PM10): Larger particles (up to 10 microns) like dust, mould, and pollen.
- Particulate matter (PM2.5): Microscopic particles (up to 2.5 microns) like smoke, bacteria, and allergens.
- Nitrogen dioxide and other oxidising gases: Potentially harmful gases from combustion, cooking, and vehicle emissions.
- Indoor humidity: Displays the amount of water vapour in the air as a percentage.
- Formaldehyde (HCHO): A common indoor pollutant from furnishings, floorings, and glue.
- Volatile organic compounds (VOCs): Odours that may be harmful, found in cleaning products, paints, and furnishings.
- Indoor temperature: Monitors ambient temperature for comfort.
- Filters: Shows the remaining filter life, indicating when replacement is needed.
Auto mode
In Auto mode, the Dyson purifying fan uses its sensors to intelligently adjust settings based on air quality.
- Air quality: The machine may pause when target air quality is met and resume when levels drop.
- Airflow speed: The airflow speed increases until the target air quality and temperature are reached.

Airflow speed and direction
Press the Airflow speed button to increase or decrease the fan speed.
Press the Airflow direction button to change the airflow from front to back for personal comfort. Select "Fan mode" for airflow directed forward for purifying and cooling.

Oscillation
Press the Oscillation button to circulate air around the room. The oscillation settings can be scrolled from 0° to 350°.

Night mode and Sleep timer
In Night mode, the purifier continues to monitor and respond to air quality changes using its quietest settings, with a dimmed LCD screen.
Press the Night mode and Sleep timer button to scroll through timer options.

Changing your HEPA+Carbon filter
Before changing, switch off and unplug your Dyson purifying fan. The screen displays remaining filter life and indicates when non-washable filters need replacing. Press the Information button on your remote.
You must reset the filter life on your machine after replacement.
For Dyson Purifier Cool Auto React supplied with a HEPA+Carbon filter:
To change the filter, push down on the buttons on either side of the machine to release the outer cover. Push down on the tabs to remove the old filter.
Push the new HEPA+Carbon filter into the outer cover, ensuring the tabs click into place.
Position the outer covers back onto the machine and push firmly until they click securely.
Plug in and switch on your machine, then reset the filter life.

Resetting your HEPA+Carbon filter life
It is important to reset your filter life after replacing it.
To reset the HEPA+Carbon filter life, press and hold the Night mode button on the remote control for 5 seconds. The machine's display will countdown from five, indicating the filter life has been reset.

Changing your HEPA and carbon filters

Looking after your machine
To ensure optimal performance, regularly clean your Dyson purifying fan and check for blockages.
Cleaning your machine
If the machine is dusty, wipe it with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Check for blockages in the air inlet holes on the filter and the small aperture inside the loop amplifier.
Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris.
Do not use detergents or polishes for cleaning.
Error codes
If an error code appears, try turning the machine off and then on again. If the error persists, contact Dyson Customer Care.
