Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this TAGA Harmony power filter. The PF-DC series power filters combine functions of power noise filtering and DC component blocking.
The electricity network in homes and workplaces is exposed to various interferences, such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated by connected appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners, computers, etc.). These interferences can originate from within your building or from external sources, and may vary depending on the time of day or week. These noises can enter your AC power and interfere with your audio-video system, negatively affecting its performance.
TAGA Harmony power noise filters help limit these negative noises and isolate your system from contaminated power. Some models feature an indicator to show and reverse power phase in the output sockets.
The built-in DC blocker removes or reduces unwanted DC components in the supply voltage, which cause noises (buzzing) and higher operational temperatures in transformers, deteriorating sound quality. Consequently, connected audio-video devices operate more quietly and efficiently, and mains hum in speakers is significantly reduced. This leads to an improved audio and video experience.
Contaminated electricity can also negatively impact internal circuits and power supplies. The PF-DC filter acts as a buffer, helping to increase the longevity of connected components.
The voltage indicator on the front panel (on selected models) helps monitor power voltage stability. The removable Schuko-IEC C13 power cable allows for upgrading the system with a premium audiophile power cable.
Cleaning: Do not use strong or abrasive cleaners. Use a damp, soft cloth for cleaning.

Controls and Displays
The PF-1000DC floor model features controls and displays on the front, rear, and top panels.
Front Panel:
- 1. Phase LED Indicator: Indicates correct or incorrect power phase.
- 2. Voltage Indicator Display: Shows approximate current voltage in Volts.
- 3. Power Switch: [Power ON (I)] and [Power OFF (0)].
Rear Panel:
- 4. Power Cable Input: Connector for the main power cable.
- 5. Reset Button: Resets the power supply after an overload condition.
- 6. Polarity Switch: Used to set or reverse the polarity of the power sockets. ⚠️ Never operate this switch when the filter is connected to the electrical outlet, as this may damage the filter and/or connected devices, voiding your warranty. Always disconnect the Power Cable before operating the Polarity Switch!
- 7. Ground Screw: For connecting the unit to a ground source.
Top Panel Sockets:
The top panel features multiple power sockets, divided into two types:
- 8. Power Sockets - DIRECT Output (non-filtered): Marked sockets for direct power output, also featuring DC BLOCKER functionality.
- 9. Power Sockets - FILTERED Output: Sockets that provide filtered power with DC BLOCKER.
Diagram Description: The front panel shows a voltage meter (0-300V) labeled "TAGA HARMONY" and a power switch labeled "POWER" with ON/OFF positions. The rear panel shows a power input socket, a "RESET" button, a "POLARITY" switch, a "GROUND" screw, and various warning labels including "CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN". It also lists specifications like "230-240V~50/60Hz 14A" and "Max. power consumption: 3.22kW". The top panel displays a diagram of eight sockets arranged in two rows of four. Each socket is labeled with L (Live), N (Neutral), and some are marked "DIRECT" and "(DC BLOCKER)" while others are marked "FILTERED".
Hooking Up the Filter
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the TAGA Harmony PF-DC filter unit. Power cables are shown connecting from the filter to two types of equipment: an "Amplifier, AV Receiver, Power Amplifier etc." connected to the "DIRECT" sockets, and a "CD Player, Media Player, DAC, FM/AM/TV Tuner, DVD/BluRay Player, TV set etc." connected to the "FILTERED" sockets. The filter itself has a "Power cable" input and multiple output sockets.
- Ensure the filter is turned off (Power Switch in OFF position) and the Power Cable is removed from the wall outlet.
- Connect your audio-video equipment to the Power Sockets using power cables (only one power cable for the filter is supplied). Follow these recommendations:
- FILTERED SOCKETS: These sockets filter electrical noises. Connect audio-video sources (CD/DVD/BluRay/Media Player, Radio/TV Tuner, Digital-to-Analog Converter, Turntable, Preamplifier, Active Speakers, etc.) and video display devices (TV Set, Video Projector, etc.) here.
- DIRECT SOCKETS: These sockets are not filtered. Connect amplification audio equipment (Integrated/Power Amplifier, AV/Stereo Receiver, Active Subwoofer, etc.) here. If you experience noisy transformers or mains hum, consider using sockets with DC BLOCKER.
The recommendations for connecting equipment may not be optimal for all devices. For best results, conduct empirical tests by connecting devices to different socket types: FILTERED, DIRECT, and DIRECT (DC BLOCKER).
- Grounding is recommended. Using a suitable insulated cable (not supplied), connect the Ground Screw to a ground source in the room.
- Your filter is ready for operation.
Note: We recommend using Schuko plugs in all power cables.
Total Maximum Power Load: The total power consumption of all connected devices must not exceed the filter's maximum power load rating, which is printed on the filter and available on www.TagaHarmony.com.
Operation
This unit requires a single-phase 3-conductor electrical outlet.
- Ensure the Polarity Switch is set to '1' (default). This sets the polarity of the female contacts in the Power Sockets according to the L and N markings.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows a single socket with clear labels for L (Live) and N (Neutral) contacts. - Plug the Power Cable into the filter and then into the electrical outlet.
- Turn on the filter using the Power Switch (upper ON position).
- Phase LED Indicator: This indicator WILL ILLUMINATE if the power phase is INCORRECT. If it illuminates:
- d1 - Remove the Power Cable from the electrical outlet.
- d2 - Set the Polarity Switch to '2'.
- d3 - Connect the Power Cable back to the electrical outlet.
- d4 - The Phase Indicator should now be OFF, indicating correct phase.
If your audio-video equipment has polarity markings (L/N), ensure its power cable plug is connected correctly to the filter according to these markings.
⚠️ Never operate this Polarity Switch when the filter is connected to the electrical outlet – this may damage the filter and/or connected devices, voiding your warranty. Make sure to disconnect the Power Cable before operating the Polarity Switch!
Setting the Polarity Switch to '2' will reverse the polarity in the Power Sockets (swapping L and N). Consider this when connecting external equipment.
- Turn on your audio-video equipment and enjoy your system.
- Reset: The Power Output Sockets will power off if the maximum power load is exceeded. Press the RESET button to restore power supply. (Check rear panel or specifications for maximum load details).
- Voltage Indicator: When the power filter is on and connected to a working outlet, this indicator displays the approximate current voltage in Volts. Note: Indications are approximate and should not be used for professional power line quality assessment.
Additional Operation Notes:
⚠️ INCORRECT PHASE: There is no unified standard for Live (L) and Neutral (N) wire positions in electrical outlets across most European Union countries. The term "incorrect phase" in this manual refers specifically to the L and N positions in the power filter's output sockets relative to the device's requirements.
⚠️ POWER CABLES AND PHASE: Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires in different power cables may be internally connected differently between the plug and connector. If the Phase LED Indicator changes status after swapping the factory power cable for another, it is not a malfunction but indicates a different internal connection. If the Phase LED Indicator illuminates, follow the steps described in the "Phase LED Indicator" section.
- When turning off the power filter, it is recommended to turn off your audio-video equipment first.
- This power filter is not an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). It will not operate if the input power source fails (no power or too low voltage).
