Important Safety Precautions
- Keep the instruction manual for future reference.
- Never leave the appliance unattended.
- This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.
- Do not use if there is any visible damage to the appliance.
- Do not let excess cord hang over the edge of a table or worktop or touch hot surfaces.
- Never let the power unit, cord, or plug get wet.
- Never use a damaged appliance. Get it checked or repaired.
- Do not let children play with this appliance.
- Never use unauthorized attachments.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- When the container is hot, do not put cold water into it.
- Do not heat the container directly on fire.
- This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or instructed in safe use and understand potential hazards.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- The device must not be used if it has been dropped, shows obvious signs of damage, or has leaks.
- Do not operate if the cord or plug is damaged, if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or a similarly qualified person.
- This appliance may be used by children 8 years of age or older, provided they are supervised or instructed in safe use and understand the dangers.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are over 8 and under adult supervision.
- Keep the device and its cable out of reach of children under 8 years old.
- When using electrical devices, safety precautions should always be taken to prevent fire, electric shock, and/or injury from improper use.
- Check that the voltage indicated on the nameplate corresponds to your electrical installation. If not, contact the dealer and do not plug in the device.
- Never leave the device unattended while in use.
- Never open the appliance from the front; always position yourself slightly to the side to avoid burns from steam.
- Keep this document available and give it to the future owner.
- Your appliance is designed for household use only and not for professional environments (kitchens, shops, offices, farm inns, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast).
Before First Use
- Release the appliance from packaging.
- Before connecting, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance sticker corresponds with your home's main voltage.
- Read all instructions carefully to avoid damage from improper use or mishandling.
- Wash the parts:
- Always switch off and unplug, and allow to cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the power base with a damp cloth, then a dry cloth. Do not wash with water.
- The container and cover can be washed with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid, then dried with a dry cloth.
ATTENTION: Never immerse the power base in water or other liquid. Do not wash with caustic or scouring cleaning agents.
Operation
- Place the power base onto the wok-surface, rib side down.
- Fit the container onto the power base.
- Fill the food in the container and add water according to the menu.
- Fit the cover on the container.
- Fit the power unit.
- Turn the switch to "MAX"; the lamp will light up.
- The appliance will boil automatically. When the food is done, turn the switch to "OFF".
- After use, unplug and dismantle.
NOTE: Total food should not exceed 2/3 of the inner capacity. It is preferable for food to be pre-cooked to reduce cooking time.
Cleaning
- Disconnect the tajine electric and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- The tajine electric heating base is not dishwasher safe.
- Only the tajine bowl is dishwasher safe.
- Clean the base with a mild detergent and a damp cloth. Never use harsh or abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or a sanding sponge, as these could damage the device. Never immerse the device in water or other liquid.
- Let the tajine bowl soak in hot water and clean it with a soft brush.
