LPBF48250 Use CAN Protocol to Communicate with Deye Inverter Instruction

(1) Description of Battery Parallel Connection

This section describes the parallel connection of batteries for communication with a Deye inverter. It involves a combine box, DIP switch, and the connection of multiple batteries.

Diagram Description:

The diagram shows a Deye inverter connected to multiple batteries (LPBF48250) via a combine box. The connection utilizes CAN protocol. A USB cable (provided with the battery package) is shown connecting to the battery. Another cable, also provided with the battery package, is used for the connection to the inverter side, with specific pin definitions for RS485 and CAN communication.

Cable Connections:

  • Battery Side (P1):
    • P1-3: CANL
    • P1-4: CANH
    • P1-5: RS485-B
    • P1-6: RS485-A
  • Inverter Side (P2): Connections need to be made according to the inverter's pin definition.

Note: Battery side pin 3 connects to inverter side pin 5; battery side pin 4 connects to inverter side pin 4.

(2) Cable Pin Definitions

The P1 end of the cable is pre-wired with RS485 and CAN protocol pins for the battery. The other end (P2) requires manual connection based on the inverter's pin definition.

(3) Battery DIP Switch Settings

Set the battery DIP switches according to the table below for parallel operation.

Note: The inverter must be connected to the first battery, which is the battery pack with DIP switch 1 and 5 set to ON.

(4) Inverter Setup Instructions

Follow the instructions below to configure the Deye inverter for communication with the battery system.

System Setup:

  • Navigate to 'System Setup'.
  • Select 'Battery Setting'.
  • Options include 'System Work Mode', 'Grid Setting', and 'Gen Port Use'.
  • Further settings are available under 'Basic Setting' and 'Advanced Function'. 'Device Info' provides device details.

Battery Setting (Inverter Interface):

  • Batt Mode: Select 'Lithium'.
  • Batt Capacity: Set to 400Ah.
  • Max A Charge: Set to 40A.
  • Max A Discharge: Set to 40A.
  • Activate Battery: Check this option.
  • Lithium Mode: Set to '00'.
  • Shutdown: Set to 10%.
  • Low Batt: Set to 20%.
  • Restart: Set to 40%.

(5) Viewing Battery Information

Follow the instructions below to view the battery information on the inverter display.

  • Status: Stand-by
  • SOC: 36%
  • Voltage (U): 50.50V
  • Current (I): -58.02A
  • Power: -2930W
  • Temperature: 30.0°C
