  • Subwoofer (optional)
  • Monaural pin cable (RCA) (optional)
  • Wireless router (for Internet connection)

Items marked with * may not be required.

1-3 Connecting Speakers

Connect speakers as illustrated. Connect a subwoofer if needed.

Connection Steps:

  1. Peel back approximately 10 mm of insulation from the speaker cable ends and twist the core wires tightly.
  2. Loosen the speaker jack knob by turning it left. Insert the speaker cable core wires into the jack hole.
  3. Tighten the knob by turning it right.

Note: Use speakers with 4-ohm impedance or higher. Adjust impedance settings in the Advanced Setup menu if using 4-ohm speakers (or higher than 4-ohm but lower than 8-ohm).

Notice: Do not let speaker cable core wires touch each other or metal parts of the product to prevent damage.

1-4 Flipping Up the Wireless Antenna

Flip up the wireless antenna as shown in the illustration. Notice: Do not use excessive force on the antenna.

1-5 Connecting the Power Cord

Connect the included power cord to the AC IN port and then to a power outlet.

2 Operation

2-1 Turning the Power On

  1. Press the ⚡ (Power) switch. The power indicator will light up.
  2. After the message (e.g., "Wireless WAC R-N800A TE12BA") appears on the front display, press RETURN on the front panel to clear it. This may take about 30 seconds.

The WAC (Wireless Accessory Configuration) function helps apply wireless settings from an iOS device to another device for network connection. Cancellation of WAC is explained later.

2-2 Automatic Speaker Settings Adjustment (YPAO)

Use the included YPAO microphone and run YPAO to automatically adjust speaker settings like volume balance and tone based on speaker connections and listening position.

  1. Turn on subwoofers and set volume to midpoint. If adjustable, set crossover frequency to maximum. (Skip if no subwoofer is connected.)
  2. Place the YPAO microphone at the listening position and connect it to the YPAO MIC jack on the front panel.
  3. Press SELECT on the front panel to start the automatic adjustment. It begins after about 10 seconds and takes about 1 minute. Avoid making noise during this process.
  4. Check the results on the front display. Follow on-screen instructions and use SELECT buttons to complete.
  5. If there are no errors or warnings, press SELECT to proceed. If errors (E-) or warnings (W-) occur, refer to the User Guide at https://manual.yamaha.com/av/22/rn800a/q1ypao.html.
  6. Save the YPAO results by pressing SELECT when prompted. To cancel or retry, turn SELECT to choose the option.
  7. Remove the YPAO microphone from the YPAO MIC jack.

YPAO settings are now complete.

2-3 Configuring Network Settings

After installing the "MusicCast Controller" app, connect the product wirelessly to your network via the app.

  1. Prepare your smart device: Ensure it's connected to your wireless router via Wi-Fi.
  2. Install "MusicCast Controller" from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Start the app and follow its instructions to configure settings. This may involve pressing CONNECT for 5 seconds or longer.

Important Notice about Information Security: See https://manual.yamaha.com/av/policy/mcc/.

Note: You can also connect via a wired connection. To cancel configuration, press RETURN. If connection fails, restart from Step 3.

2-4 Playing Internet Radio

Use the app to play Internet radio.

  1. On the app, select your registered room and choose "Net Radio" as the source. A list of stations will appear if connected to the Internet.
  2. Choose your desired station from the list.
