55 GALLON SPRAYER

Document Code: 010-0655 Rev 6/22

Manufacturer: Harvest Tec, LLC.

Installation Instructions

Installation of Tank and Saddle

  1. Bolt the frame and legs to the forage harvester's tongue using 5/8" u-bolts. Check for wheel clearance and obstructions. Position the leg with the pump to face away from the opposite leg for easy plumbing access.
  2. Bolt the tank saddle into the legs using 1½" bolts.
  3. Place the tank in the saddle with the end fitting on the same end as the pump. Secure with 5/16"x3" bolts and double nuts.
  4. Thread the valve and filter into the side fitting of the tank. Run a line to the pump intake (follow arrows on pump).
  5. Wire the switch to a 12-volt power source on the tractor.
  6. Locate the band lubricator nozzle on the side of the blower housing. It must be placed before the feed intake and after the feed discharge. Cut an oblong hole (2½" long, 1¾" wide) on a straight radius line, 2" from the outside of the band. Align the two scored marks on the nozzle assembly with the radius line and weld in place. Ensure the spray tip aligns with the scored mark inside the nozzle housing and that inside and outside scores align.
  7. Run a line from the pump discharge to the nozzle assembly, securing with provided ties.

Diagram Description (Page 3): A diagram illustrates the placement of the nozzle assembly on a blower housing. It shows the discharge spout, nozzle assembly, feed inlet, and a radius line with measurements (2 inches). A note indicates the nozzle hole should point towards the outer diameter of the blower housing.

Installation of Inoculant Nozzle

  1. Mount the nozzle assembly above the cross auger by drilling a 9/16" hole in the side or top of the auger case. Connect the plumbing line from the pump discharge to the nozzle assembly. (Note: Quick connect fittings at both nozzles allow easy selection of spray point if sufficient slack is left.)

Operation Instructions

  1. The pump is an internal bypass type, operating continuously at 40 psi. For lubrication, it delivers 18 gallons per hour through lubricator tip #5003.
  2. For inoculant application, calculate your harvesting rate.
  3. Mix inoculant for desired application using the charts below.

Note: To apply product at 25 psi, order part #007-4121S.

Maintenance

Clean the tip strainer and main strainer every ten hours of operation.

NOTE: Some inoculant products leave a residue after use. This residue may affect pumping performance. If a product residue is present, flush the system with clean water after each use.
