Operation and Features

Appliance Lid

Ensure the lid is clean and free of spills before raising. It may only be closed when cooking zones have completely cooled down. Do not close the lid when a burner is lit. Turn off all burners before shutting the lid.

Appliance Drawer

⚠️ Do not store combustible, explosive, volatile, or temperature-sensitive items (like paper, dish cloths, plastic bags, cleaners, spray cans) in the oven's storage drawer, as they can ignite and cause a fire.

Wire Guides

Wire guides allow food preparation on four levels (counted from bottom up). Guides 3 and 4 are for grilling. Appliance operation is safe with or without tray guides.

Telescopic Pull-Out Guides

Telescopic pull-out guides may be fitted for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th levels. They can be partly or fully extendible.

Embossed Grooves

The oven has stamped side grooves in four levels for inserting grids and baking sheets.

Oven Door Switch

This switch deactivates oven heating and the fan when the oven door is opened during cooking. When the door is closed, the switch reactivates the heaters.

Cooling Fan

The appliance has a cooling fan to cool the housing and control panel. The fan operates when the oven is in operation.

⚠️ The appliance and some accessible parts heat up during cooking. Use oven mitts.

Grid

There is a safety latch on the grid. Lift the grid slightly at the front when pulling it out. The grid or tray should always be inserted into the groove between the two wire profiles.

With telescopic guides, pull out the guides, place the grid/tray, then push them in fully. Close the oven door when telescopic guides are retracted.

Before Using for the First Time

  • Upon receiving, remove all parts, including transport equipment.
  • Clean accessories with warm water and detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • If the cooker has cast iron plates, set hotplate knobs to level 4 for 30 minutes without dishes. Some smoke may appear as cooking zones heat up.
  • A characteristic smell may be emitted during the first oven heat-up. Ventilate the room thoroughly.

Cooking Hob

Energy Saving Tips:

  • Match pot/pan bottom diameter to the cooking zone diameter. Small pots lose heat and can damage the zone.
  • Use a lid if the cooking process allows.
  • Use cookware sized for the amount of food. Large pots for small amounts lose energy.
  • Use a pressure cooker for dishes that take a long time.
  • Cook vegetables in minimal water with a tightly closed lid. Reduce heat after boiling to maintain a simmer.

Electric Hobs:

  • Ensure cooking zones and cookware bottoms are clean and dry for better heat conduction.
  • Be careful when cooking with fat or oil; overheated fat/oil can ignite. Always control the process.
  • Do not place wet cookware or lids covered in steam on cooking zones, as moisture can cause damage.
  • Do not cool hot cookware on unused cooking zones; condensate may cause corrosion.

Rotate the knob to switch on a cooking zone. Heating power is set in steps 1 to 6.

Switch off the cooking zone 3-5 minutes before the end of cooking to use residual heat and save power.

Rapid Cooking Zones

These zones (on some models) operate at higher power for quicker heating. They are indicated by a red dot, which may disappear after repeated heating and cleaning.

Prolonged use of cast iron plates may cause discolouration. Service for this is not covered by warranty.

Tips Regarding Your Cookware

  • Use quality cookware with a flat, stable bottom.
  • Pan bottom and cooking zone diameters should match.
  • Tempered glass cookware with special ground bottoms can be used if diameter fits. Larger diameters may crack due to thermal tension.
  • Ensure pots/pans are centered on the cooking zone.
  • When using a pressure cooker, monitor it until pressure is reached. Start at maximum power, then reduce according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Ensure sufficient liquid in pressure cookers or pots. Empty pots can cause overheating and damage.
  • Observe manufacturer instructions for special cookware.

Gas Burners

  • For searing, set the burner to maximum power, then cook at minimum.
  • Some models have thermoelectric safety devices. If the flame extinguishes, gas supply shuts off automatically, preventing leaks.
  • Always place the burner cap accurately on the burner crown. Ensure burner crown slots are not blocked.

Tips Regarding Your Cookware (Gas)

  • Correct cookware choice optimizes cooking time and gas consumption. Diameter is key.
  • Small pots with flames reaching over the edge will be damaged, increasing gas consumption.
  • Large pots reduce air intake and burning efficiency.

Gas Hob Reducer: Use for smaller diameter containers on the auxiliary burner.

Burner typeContainer diameter
Large (3,0 kW)220-260 mm
Normal (1,9 kW)180-220 mm
Auxiliary (1,0 kW)120-180 mm
Multi-ring burner (3,6 kW)220-260 mm

Burner Ignition and Operation

Always press the knob before rotating it.

Cooking power levels are indicated by large and small flame symbols on the knobs. Rotate the knob between the large and small flame positions. Settings between these are not recommended as the flame may be unstable or extinguish.

To turn off a burner, rotate the knob to the right to the 'off' position.

Single-handed ignition: Press and rotate the knob to maximum power. The spark plug activates the gas.

Two-handed ignition: Press and rotate the knob to maximum power. Press the spark plug button. The spark plug activates the gas.

Electric ignition requires the power cord to be connected. If electric ignition fails (power supply issue, damp plugs), use a match or lighter.

After ignition, keep the knob depressed for ~5 seconds until the flame stabilizes.

If a burner does not ignite within 15 seconds, close it, wait 1 minute, and retry. If a flame extinguishes, close the burner, wait 1 minute, and retry.

First ignite the gas burner, then place cookware. Never lean over a lit burner.
