Key Parts List

The unit features several key components for its operation. A diagram illustrates these parts, numbered for reference:

Recharging

CAUTION! EQUIPMENT DAMAGE Do not charge the unit through the 12V DC charging port if your vehicle's electrical system operates above 15 V. Ensure that no 12 V DC appliances are connected while recharging. Do not operate any unit functions while charging. Do not recharge while connected to an external battery.

Battery Status

Press and hold the Battery Status Button. The Battery Level Indicator LEDs will illuminate to indicate the battery capacity level:

IMPORTANT Recharge battery as soon as possible after each use or every two months when in storage to prolong battery life and keep the unit ready for use. Allowing the unit to stay in a discharged state can cause battery failure. It is recommended to recharge unit every two months when not in use. All lead acid batteries suffer from self-discharge over time, especially under extreme temperatures. Store in a cool dry place.

NOTE The red CHARGING STATUS LED light indicates charging. The battery status indicator illuminates green when fully charged. Charging current automatically goes to floating charge.

Recharging with standard household extension cord (included)

  1. Turn BOOSTING switch to the [OFF] position.
  2. Pull open the AC adaptor cover on the side of the unit.
  3. Connect the female end of the extension cord (included) to the AC plug.
  4. Connect the male end of the extension cord to a grounded 120 V AC outlet.

Charging with 12V DC Charging Adaptor

NOTE Due to a safety circuit built into the input charging port, DC charging through this location will not fully charge the battery. The vehicle should be running for full charging to take place (DC charging will not work if the engine is off).

  1. Turn BOOSTING switch to the [OFF] position.
  2. Plug the 12V DC Charging adaptor pin into the DC charging port.
  3. Plug the 12V DC Charging plug into the vehicle’s 12V DC accessory outlet.

A red light on the DC adaptor outlet will illuminate to confirm a good connection.

Operation

Jump Starting

⚠️ WARNING! EQUIPMENT DAMAGE Do not crank the engine for more than 5 seconds at a time. Allow the battery booster pack to cool down for at least 3 minutes after each boost.

⚠️ WARNINGS! EXPLOSION HAZARD Do not turn jump start switch to [ON] position if the REVERSE POLARITY WARNING LED light is ON and an alarm buzzer is sounding. Never allow the red and black clamps to touch each other or a common piece of metal.

Important Pre-operation Checks

Jump Starting Procedure

Note: Instructions are for negative ground systems only (most common for vehicles today). If your vehicle is a positive ground system, reverse steps 1 and 2. Please consult your vehicle’s manual to confirm your vehicle’s ground system.

NOTE: If the red REVERSE POLARITY WARNING LED light is on and an alarm is activated, STOP and reverse clamp connections immediately.

  1. Connect the red clamp to the POSitive ([+]) terminal of the vehicle battery.
  2. Connect the black clamp to the NEGative ([-]) terminal of the vehicle battery.
  3. When clamps are connected properly, turn BOOSTING switch to the [ON] position.
  4. Try starting your vehicle. Crank the engine in 5 second bursts until the engine starts.
  5. Once the vehicle starts, turn BOOSTING switch to the [OFF] position.
  6. Disconnect both clamps in the reverse order (black clamp first, then red clamp).
  7. Recharge unit immediately and store unit safely.

12V DC Accessory Power

This unit is equipped with one DC outlet socket and can be used to power most 12 volt accessories and appliances. The running time will depend on the condition of the battery and the current draw of the appliance.

  1. Pull open the cover of the 12 V DC Power Port on the side of the unit.
  2. Insert the 12 V DC plug from the appliance into the 12 V DC Power port on the unit.
  3. Switch appliance ON and operate as usual.

Typical Operating Times

DC Powered Products Typical Watts* Approx. Running Time **
Cell Phone 4 18 hours
Fluorescent Lantern 4 18 hours
Car Fan 9 8 hours
Portable 12 Volt Cooler 48 1.2 hours
Spotlight 55 1 hour
Car Vacuum 80 40 minutes

*Actual wattage of different models may vary.
**Approximate running time for reference only based on fully charged battery and model used. Actual running time may vary based on model load and battery condition.

IMPORTANT Do not use this unit to operate appliances that need more than 12 A to operate from the 12 V DC power port. The unit has a 12 Amp automatic overload protection. If loaded more than 12 Amp, it will auto shut off for protection.

Operate Air Compressor

This unit is equipped with a built-in 150 PSI air compressor that can be used to inflate tires, sports equipment, and other recreational inflatables.

CAUTION! EQUIPMENT DAMAGE Do not operate air compressor continuously for longer than 10 minutes. Allow compressor to cool down for every 10 minutes of continuous use.

CAUTION! BURST HAZARD AND INJURY Carefully follow instructions and recommended pressure of products being inflated. Do not over-inflate. Always wear eye protection. Always check pressure with the pressure gauge. Never leave the compressor unattended during use.

IMPORTANT The Air Compressor operates from the internal battery of the unit. Check battery condition to make sure it is satisfactory before operating compressor. Do not use compressor function if battery is less than 50%. Recharge unit after each use.

  1. Remove hose from storage compartment.
  2. a) For inflating tires or other objects with valve stems, screw in the nozzle connector to the valve stem.
  3. b) For inflating sporting equipment, party balloons or other objects without valve stems, screw in the appropriate adaptor into the nozzle connector and insert it into the object being inflated.
  4. Turn Compressor switch to the [I] position.
  5. Monitor the pressure gauge while inflating. When desired pressure is reached, turn compressor switch to [O] position.
  6. Unscrew the nozzle connector from the valve stem of the object being inflated. If using an adaptor, disconnect from object being inflated and remove adaptor from nozzle connector.
  7. Store air hose and ball/balloon adaptors in the appropriate storage compartments.

LED Light

Press the LED Light switch to turn the LED light ON/OFF.

IMPORTANT Make sure the LED light is [OFF] when the unit is being recharged or stored.

USB Port

The unit is equipped with a USB port with a 5V 2.4A power output. This port is ideal for charging portable electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and more.

Connect your device to the USB Power port and operate your device normally.

IMPORTANT Make sure there are no devices plugged in to the USB power port when the unit is being recharged or stored.

Fuse Replacement

The fuse in the plug end of the 12 V DC charger protects the adaptor's charging circuit. If the 120 V AC charger works but DC charging does not, the fuse may have blown. This product comes with a replacement fuse for the 12 V DC adaptor.

To replace the fuse in the plug:

  1. Twist off the upper cover.
  2. Check fuse condition. If blown, remove the blown fuse and insert the replacement 2 A fuse.
  3. Twist the upper cover back on the plug. Do not over tighten the cover.

The 12V DC plug contains a 2 A 250 V Fuse. The upper cover should be handled carefully.

Maintenance

Routine maintenance is required to keep your MotoMaster® battery booster pack operating properly.

CAUTION! EQUIPMENT DAMAGE All batteries lose energy from self-discharge with time, more rapidly at higher temperatures. Gradually warm the frozen battery to 0°C (32°F) before recharging to avoid battery damage.

WARNING! SHOCK AND FIRE HAZARD Disconnect all sources of AC power and DC power before performing any type of maintenance.
