Key Parts List

The product comes partially charged and needs to be fully charged prior to use. Carefully read and understand the vehicle owner's manual on specific precautions and recommended methods for jump starting the vehicle. Make sure to determine the voltage and chemistry of the battery by referring to your battery owner's manual prior to using this product. This product is for jump starting 12 volt lead acid batteries only.

Recharging

IMPORTANT!

  1. Connect micro USB cable to the unit's USB IN port.
  2. Connect the other end of the micro USB cable to any powered USB power port such as a laptop, 12V DC adaptor (included) or AC charging cube (not included).

Operation

Battery Status

Press the button. The Internal Battery Level Indicator LEDs will illuminate to indicate battery capacity level.

[Battery level indicator: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%]

USB Power

IMPORTANT! Make sure there are no devices plugged in to the USB power port when unit is being recharged or stored.

The unit is equipped with a USB port Quick Charge 5V, 2.4A/9V, 2A/12V, 1.5A power output. This port is ideal for charging portable electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets and more.

  1. Connect device(s) to USB OUT port(s) using a USB cable.
  2. Press [power button] to turn unit on and activate USB power.

DC Power

IMPORTANT! DO NOT use this unit to operate appliances that need more than 10A to operate from the DC power port.

This unit is equipped with one DC outlet socket and can be used to power most 12 volt accessories and appliances.

  1. Plug the DC cable into the DC power port.
  2. Plug your appliance into the DC cable outlet.
  3. Press [power button] to turn the unit on.

NOTE: DC appliance must draw at least 150mA or the unit will automatically shut off to conserve battery power.

Auto Shut-Off Feature

This jump starter has a built-in energy saving feature that will automatically shut off the unit after 30 seconds if no load is detected or after 4 hours continuous operation.

LED Flashlight

This unit has a built-in multi-mode LED flashlight for convenience and emergency use. Hold the [power button] for 3 seconds to activate the LED flashlight. Keep pressing the [power button] to cycle through the 4 options: 100% -> Strobe -> SOS -> Off.

Jump Starting

WARNING! EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

Warning! Instructions are for negative ground systems only (most common for vehicles today). If your vehicle is a positive ground system, reverse steps 2 and 3. Please consult your vehicle's manual to confirm your vehicle's ground system.

  1. Press [power button] to turn the unit on. If less than 75%, recharge the unit before attempting a jump start.
  2. Connect the Smart Jumper Cables to the unit.
  3. Connect the red clamp to the POS (+) terminal of the vehicle battery.
  4. Connect the black clamp to the NEG (-) terminal of the vehicle battery.
  5. Check LEDs on Smart Jumper Cables, and proceed accordingly:
LED Status Description Action
[Green LED] Good connection. Proceed with jump start attempt.
[Red LED] Connection is reversed. Reverse the clamp connections.
[Flashing Red LED with audible alarm] No connection detected: 1. Poor connection between clamps and battery terminals, or 2. Vehicle battery voltage extremely low. Check to ensure a clean and solid connection between clamps and battery terminals. If after checking that clamps have a good connection both LEDs are OFF, the use of OVERRIDE mode will be required. See USING OVERRIDE MODE.
[Flashing Red LED] OVERRIDE mode activated (30 seconds). Proceed with jump start attempt. Use of OVERRIDE mode disables all safety features. Refer to USING OVERRIDE MODE for more information.
[Flashing Red LED] Over-current protection enabled. Vehicle drawing excessive current. Wait 30 seconds for jump starter to reset. If error repeats, have vehicle checked.
[Solid Red LED] 1. Jump starter battery too hot, or 2. Jump starter battery low charge, or 3. Poor connection between jump starter and smart clamp assembly. Allow jump starter to cool down. Charge the jump starter. Remove the smart clamp plug from jump starter and fully re-insert.

USING OVERRIDE MODE:

This unit has an OVERRIDE feature which allows you to force ON the jump starter function, allowing you to boost discharged batteries as low as 0 volts.

CAUTION! USE THE OVERRIDE MODE WITH EXTREME CARE

  1. ENSURE CORRECT POLARITY (red clamp to POS + terminal of the battery and black clamp to the NEG – terminal of the battery).
  2. Press OVERRIDE button.
  3. OVERRIDE mode will be enabled for 30 seconds. Proceed with jump start attempt within the 30 seconds.

Note: the OVERRIDE mode will only be active for 30 seconds. Once 30 seconds has passed, the unit will reset.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The engine being boosted will not start
  • Main power is OFF
  • Vehicle battery too low
  • Unit is not fully charged
  • Bad clamp connection with battery
  • Vehicle battery is damaged
  • Mechanical issue with vehicle
  • Battery in the unit is damaged
  • Press [power button] to turn unit ON (refer to JUMP STARTING instructions)
  • OVERRIDE mode may need to be used (refer to JUMP STARTING instructions)
  • Check if unit has at least 75% charge. Recharge if necessary
  • Reconnect clamps and ensure proper contact and polarity has been established
  • Replace vehicle battery
  • Have the vehicle serviced
  • Replace unit
Unit will not charge
  • No power from USB port
  • Faulty USB cable
  • Power draw during recharge
  • Plug in to a different USB outlet
  • Replace USB cable
  • Disconnect all accessories plugged into the unit and make sure all of the unit functions are off
USB Power port does not work
  • Main power is OFF
  • Unit has insufficient charge
  • Incompatible device
  • Press [power button] to turn unit ON (refer to USB POWER instructions)
  • Check unit battery charge level. Recharge if necessary
  • Check if device is compatible with this USB type/port
LED Flashlight does not work
  • Main power is OFF
  • Unit has insufficient charge to power appliance
  • Press [power button] to turn unit ON (refer to USB POWER instructions)
  • Check unit battery charge level. Recharge if necessary

Do not dispose of this product in the usual household garbage at the end of its life cycle; hand it over at a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. The symbols on the product, the instructions for use or the packing will inform about the methods for disposal.

Warranty

This MotoMaster product carries a one (1) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. This product is not guaranteed against wear, breakage or misuse. Should this product become defective within the stated warranty period, return it to the store with proof of purchase, and it will be replaced or repaired free of charge.
