Cooking Tips
The following factors may affect cooking results:
- Food arrangement: Place thicker areas towards the outside of the dish, thinner parts towards the center, and spread evenly. Avoid overlapping if possible.
- Cooking time length: Start with a short time setting, evaluate after it times out, and extend as needed. Overcooking can result in smoke and burns.
- Cooking food evenly: Foods like chicken, hamburger, or steak should be turned once during cooking. Stir food from outside to center once or twice during cooking, depending on the food type.
- Allow standing time: After cooking, let the food stand in the oven for an adequate time to complete its cooking cycle and cool down gradually.
- Whether the food is done: Check for steam coming from all parts of the food, easily movable poultry joints, no blood in pork or poultry, and opaque, easily sliced fish.
- Browning dish: When using a browning dish or self-heating container, always place a heat-resistant insulator (e.g., a porcelain plate) underneath to prevent damage to the turntable and rotating ring.
- Microwave safe plastic wrap: When cooking food with high fat content, do not let the plastic wrap contact the food, as it may melt. Some microwave-safe plastic cookware may not be suitable for foods with high fat and sugar content; do not exceed the preheating time specified in the dish's instruction manual.
Maintenance
Servicing
Before calling for service, please check the following:
- Place one cup of water (approx. 150ml) in a glass measure in the oven and close the door securely. The oven lamp should go off if the door is closed properly. Let the oven work for 1 minute.
- Does the oven lamp light?
- Does the cooling fan work? (Check by placing your hand over the rear ventilation openings.)
