Introduction
This document provides a quick start guide for the GIGABYTE BRIX Extreme Ultra Compact PC Kit. It covers system information, appearance, hardware installation, and BIOS setup.

Safety and Regulatory Information

Chapter 1: System Information
1-1 Installation Precautions
ESD Warning: System components are sensitive to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). Follow precautions:
- Do not remove or break motherboard S/N or warranty stickers.
- Always disconnect AC power before installation/removal of components.
- Ensure hardware components are connected tightly.
- Avoid touching metal leads/connectors on the motherboard.
- Use an ESD wrist strap or touch a metal object to discharge static electricity.
- Place motherboard on an antistatic pad or shielding container.
- Ensure power supply is turned off before unplugging.
- Verify power supply voltage setting.
- Ensure all cables and power connectors are properly connected.
- Prevent screws from contacting motherboard circuits.
- Ensure no leftover screws or metal parts are inside the casing.
- Do not place the system on uneven surfaces or in high-temperature environments.
- Do not turn on power during installation to avoid damage or injury.
- Consult a certified technician if uncertain about installation steps.

1-3 Package Contents
1-3-1 GB-BEi Bare-bone
The package includes the bare-bone unit. It does NOT include M.2 (2280) SSD, 2.5" HDD, or SO-DIMM memory.
1-3-2 VESA Mount
Includes VESA bracket and 6 screws.
1-3-3 135W Adapter & Power Cord
Use the included power cord only with this product. Do not use it with other products.

Chapter 3: System Hardware Installation
Pre-installation Instructions
ESD Warning: Handle components with care to prevent ESD damage. Always disconnect power before working. Use ESD wrist strap or ground yourself. Handle boards by edges only. Leave components in static-proof packaging until needed.
3-1 Removing the Bottom Cover
Instructions:
- Remove the screw securing the chassis side cover.
- Slide the cover towards the rear and remove it.
3-2 Installing the M.2 SSD
Instructions:
- Remove the small screw and thermal plate from the M.2 SSD slot A.
- Carefully insert the M.2 SSD into slot A.
- Secure the thermal plate and M.2 SSD with the removed screw.
3-3 Installing the Memory
Guidelines: Ensure system compatibility. Use matching memory modules. Always disconnect power before installation. Memory modules install in one direction.
Instructions:
- Carefully insert SO-DIMM memory modules.
- Push down until modules click into place.
- Repeat for the second module if applicable.
- Push down until modules click into place.
3-4 Remove the Wireless Module
Instructions:
- Disconnect antennas by lifting clips.
- Remove the center screw.
- Carefully pull the wireless module from the slot.
3-5 Installing the VESA Bracket
Note: VESA screws are 5.0 mm M3 type.
Instructions:
- Remove both side covers.
- Slide the hard disk drive into the slot.
- Mount with two screws on each side.
3-6 Installing Additional SATA 6Gbps HDD (2.5" HDD)
Note: HDD thickness must be less than 7mm.
Instructions:
- Unscrew and remove the HDD bracket.
- Disconnect the SATA cable.
- Screw the HDD and bracket together with four screws.
- Connect the HDD with the SATA cable.
- Connect the cable to the SATA connector on the motherboard.
- Reinstall the bracket with HDD to the bottom panel.
3-7 Installing LAN/COM/M.2 Upgrade Kit
Note: System does not support both LAN/COM kit and 2.5" HDD. M.2 module cannot have a thermal plate due to space limitations.
Instructions:
- Unscrew and remove the bracket.
- Disconnect the SATA cable.
- Install the upgrade kit board onto the bottom panel with four screws.
- Connect the upgrade kit cable to the board.
- Connect the cable to the SATA connector on the motherboard.
- Reinstall the bracket with the upgrade kit to the bottom panel.
Chapter 4: BIOS Setup
4-1 USB Power On Function
Allows device power-on via USB, useful when mounted behind a display or TV.
Note: Windows requires an additional patch ('USB Power-On Patch') available on the GIGABYTE website for this functionality.
Instructions to enable USB Power On:
- Press "Del" during startup to enter BIOS.
- Select "Chipset" from the menu.
- Manually configure "USB S5 Wakeup Support" to "Enable".
- Press F4 to Save and Exit.
