5. OPERATION INSTRUCTION
5.1. Multiview Output Layout
The multiview output displays PGM (Program) and PVW (Preview) feeds. The level meter for PGM audio is shown in the multiview, while the SDI/HDMI PGM output does not have overlays. The multiview typically shows 6 windows corresponding to the 6 input signals, along with status information in the lower right corner, including channel selection for audio mixer (CH1, CH2), audio levels, audio mode, PGM output status, and clock.
Example Multiview Layout:
[Image Description: A grid of video feeds. Top row shows a wide shot of a stadium with 'Preview' overlay on the left and 'Program' overlay on the right. Below are feeds labeled IN1-SDI1, IN2-SDI2, IN3-SDI3, IN4-SDI4. The bottom row shows IN5-HDMI5, IN6-HDMI6, a clock face, and a status screen showing CH1, CH2, PGM, AUX, Audio Mode, and resolution.]
5.2. PGM PVW Switching
5.2.1. PGM, PVW Channel Selection
Buttons 1-6 under PGM and PVW correspond to the 6 input windows in the multiview layout. When a button is selected for PGM, its LED turns red. When selected for PVW, its LED turns green. The selected PGM source is indicated by a red border in the multiview, and the selected PVW source by a green border.
Example Selection: To switch PGM source to SDI 1 and PVW source to SDI 2, select button '1' under PGM and button '2' under PVW.
[Image Description: A diagram showing the PGM and PVW buttons numbered 1 through 6. The PGM row has buttons 1-6 highlighted in red, and the PVW row has buttons 1-6 highlighted in green, indicating a selection.]
5.3. Transition Control
There are two types of transition controls: without effects and with effects.
1) Transition without Effects
CUT: Performs an immediate switch between Preview and Program views with no delay. WIPE, MIX, or FADE effects are not used.
2) Transition with Effects
- AUTO: Performs an automated switch between Preview and Program views. The transition timing is set by the speed button, and selected transition effects (WIPE, MIX, or FADE) are applied.
- T-Bar: Manual transition control similar to AUTO, offering more flexibility in timing based on the manual switch speed.
5.3.1. FTB (Fade to Black)
Pressing the FTB button fades the current Program source to black. The button flashes to indicate it is active. Pressing it again reverses the action, fading from black back to the currently selected Program source. FTB is typically used for emergency situations.
[Image Description: A sequence of four video frames. The first three show a soccer game, and the fourth is completely black, illustrating the Fade to Black effect.]
Note: If the PGM window remains black after a transition, check if the FTB button is flashing. Press the FTB button again to stop the black screen.
5.4. Audio Mixer Setting
5.4.1. Audio Description
The video switcher supports 1 channel 3.5mm Stereo audio input/output and 1 channel RCA (L/R) analog audio input/output. It also handles 4-channel SDI embedded audio. The unit supports both Audio Follow Video (AFV) mode and audio mixing mode.
[Image Description: A diagram showing audio input and output connections. Labeled are AUDIO IN (L and R RCA), AUDIO OUT (L and R RCA), and a 3.5mm AUDIO IN/OUT jack.]
5.5. Transition Effects
5.5.1. MIX Transition
Pressing the MIX button selects a basic A/B dissolve for the next transition. The MIX transition effect involves a gradual blend between two video sources.
[Image Description: A sequence of five video frames showing a gradual transition from one scene (soccer game) to another (stadium crowd) through a dissolve effect.]
5.5.2. WIPE Transition
A WIPE transition replaces the current source with another, creating a moving boundary. There are 8 WIPE selections from different directions. The transition can be operated using the T-Bar or AUTO controls.
[Image Description: A sequence of five video frames showing a wipe transition, where one scene is progressively replaced by another with a distinct edge.]
The INV button can be used to start a WIPE transition from an inverse direction.
5.5.3. FADE Transition
A FADE transition smoothly blends one source to another with a gradual fading effect. This transition is activated by pressing the FADE button and using the T-Bar or AUTO controls.
6. MENU SETTING
6.1. SDI PGM/ AUX and Multiview Output Format
The multiview output format is fixed at 1080p60. The PGM output format can be adjusted using the knob. An AUX output is available, which can be selected as PVW or PGM via the Menu knob. The default setting for AUX is PGM after reset. Resolutions for SDI/HDMI PGM and AUX outputs are selectable from 1080P 50/60/30/25/24Hz and 1080I 50/60Hz.

6.5. Network Settings
6.5.1. Network
There are two methods to acquire an IP address: Dynamic (configured by router) and Static (manually set). The default setting is Dynamic.
- Dynamic: Connect the video switcher to a router with DHCP. The device will automatically obtain an IP address. Ensure the switcher and PC are on the same local area network.
- Static: Use this method when the PC does not have DHCP. Connect the video switcher to the PC via a network cable. Set the PC's IP address to the same range as the video switcher (default IP: 192.168.1.215), or set the video switcher's IP address to match the PC's IP range.
[Image Description: A screenshot of the Network Settings menu showing IP Acquisition set to Dynamic, with fields for IP, NetMask, GateWay, Save, and Return.]
6.5.2. NetMask
Set the NetMask. The default setting is 255.255.255.0.
6.5.3. GateWay
Set the GateWay according to the current IP address. Save the configuration after finishing network settings.
