Getting Started
After buying your detector, decide what you want to find and then do a little research on possible detecting sites. Depending on whether you're looking for rare coins, lost jewellery, gold nuggets or pieces of history will determine where you look and also affect the settings on your detector.
Places to Find Treasure
You'll find treasure wherever you look for it! People leave things behind all the time so if you're looking for treasure in the form of coins, artifacts or jewelry, it makes sense to hunt wherever people have been such as:

For Gold Prospectors
Do your research on historic goldfields in your target area as gold may be hiding in:
