IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. IF YOU PASS THIS PRODUCT ONTO ANOTHER PERSON ENSURE THAT YOU ALSO PASS THESE INSTRUCTIONS TOO.

When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

• Only use 12 V plug in car cigarette socket or similar 12 V output socket. Not suitable for trucks 24 V sockets.
• Do not block the air vents on top of the lid.
• Do not block the fan. If the fan is blocked and stops spinning it can become a fire hazard.
• Do not switch between heating and cooling without turning off the cooler for at least 30 minutes. Open the lid and vent before switching.
• The cooler must not be exposed to moisture or rain.
• Do not pour liquid or place ice directly in the cooler.
• Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
• Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
• Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
• Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified person in order to avoid an electrical hazard.
• Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull the cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always unplug the unit when not in use, before cleaning or when adding or removing parts.
• The use of accessory attachments is not recommended or supplied by the manufacturer may result in injuries, fire or electric shock.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter. Ensure that the cord is not in a position where it can be pulled.
• Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces and do not place on or near a hot electric burner or in a heated oven.
• Do not use the appliance on a gas or electric cooking top or over or near an open flame.
• Use of extension cord with this appliance is not recommended.
• Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
• Always unplug the appliance when not in use or before cleaning.
• Always operate the appliance on an even, stable surface.
• The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage or injury caused by improper or incorrect use, or for repairs carried out by unauthorised personnel.
• Your appliance must not be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.
• Do not position the appliance in direct sunlight or any sources of heat, do not operate for extended periods in confined, poorly ventilated areas.
• Car use: When using in a car the appliance should be kept upright at all times. Also ensure that it is placed in a safe area in the vehicle i.e. not placed on a seat during a journey as this may cause a hazard during sudden breaking etc.
• Be aware that if this unit is kept operating on a vehicle battery when the engine is not running for more than a few hours, you may have difficulty starting your engine.
• You should not operate this appliance in an enclosed boot space as there may be a build-up of heat. Also ensure that any vents are not obstructed if the appliance is packed amongst items of luggage.
• The best performance will be obtained if the unit is loaded with food and drink that is already cool.
• For best cold retention after disconnection from a power supply keep the lid closed.

PROPER USE

This electric cool box is to be used solely for cooling pre-cooled food and drinks or keeping hot food warm. Not suitable for heating up cold food. The appliance is intended for private domestic or camping use. The appliance is not intended for commercial use.

USING YOUR 18L COOL BOX

WHEN CAR POWER IS USED (DC 12V)

1. First make sure the switch at the back of the unit is in the OFF position.
2. Turn on the car engine/electrics.
3. Insert the DC power cord connector into the back of the cooler unit.
4. Plug in the cigarette lighter adaptor of the DC cord into the cigarette lighter socket in the car.
5. Adjust the control switch at the back of unit to choose cold or warm mode.

NOTE: When using in the car, ensure to turn the car on before plugging in the cool box to avoid a power surge that could result in overheating.

If you turn off the engine while this unit is working it may drain your battery.

WHEN MAINS ELECTRICITY IS USED (AC 220V-240V)

1. First make sure the switch at the back of the unit is in the OFF position.
2. Connect the AC power cord into the AC socket on the back of the unit.
3. Insert the plug end of the cable into your wall or adapter socket and turn on.
4. Move the switch on the back of the box to choose cold or warm mode.

Cooling: When power switch is set to the COLD position the green light will be on, indicating the unit is in cooling mode. [green-light-icon]

Warming: When power switch is set to the WARM position the red light will be on indicating the unit is in warming mode. [red-light-icon]

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION

(Power adapters only)

Never open the power adapter, you risk getting an electric shock. Only use the power adapter that is supplied with your product. You must always connect the power adapter to the product before connecting to the mains power supply. The power adapter must be used indoors only, and must not be subjected to damp conditions. The power adapter does not have any user serviceable parts.

2-CORE PLUG

WARNING: Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal. This symbol indicates that this 2-core appliance is Class II and does not require an earth connection. The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.

3-CORE PLUG

WARNING: This appliance must be earthed. The wire coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter E, or by the earth symbol, or coloured green or green and yellow. The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, switch off the cool box, unplug from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely if it has been set to WARM function.

• Clean the cool box with a damp cloth with a mild detergent and then polish with a soft dry cloth.
• Do not use steel wool pads or harsh/abrasive cleaners.

This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of original purchase. If any defect should occur due to faulty materials or workmanship, please return it to the store it was purchased from. You will need to have your receipt of purchase to hand. The guarantee is subject to the following provisions:

• It is only valid within the boundaries of the country of purchase.
• The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance with the instructions contained in the User Manual.
• The product must be used solely for domestic purposes.
• The guarantee will be rendered invalid if the product is re-sold or has been damaged by inexpert repair.
• The manufacturer disclaims any liability for incidental or consequential damages.
• The guarantee is in addition to, and does not diminish, your statutory or legal rights.
