AVMFRITZ!Box 4060Router · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The FRITZ!Box 4060 is a pure tri-band Wi-Fi 6 router with no modem and no telephone ports. Its factory password is unique per device and printed on the underside label; enter it at http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1). There is no username and no admin/admin default.

Recovery & reset instructions

Because the 4060 has no phone ports, reset it from the interface: System > Backup > Load Factory Settings, then confirm and wait for the WLAN LED to stay lit.

AVMFRITZ!Box 5590 FiberModem / gateway · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is an AON/GPON fibre gateway with Wi-Fi 6 and telephony. Like other current FRITZ!Box models it carries a unique password on the base type label rather than a shared default, entered at http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1); there is no username.

Recovery & reset instructions

Use System > Backup > Load Factory Settings in the interface and confirm, or dial #991*15901590* on an attached phone and hang up after about three seconds, to restore factory defaults.

AVMFRITZ!Box 6591 CableRouter · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem router with FRITZ!Mesh support (as Master or Repeater) — distinct from the DSL/fibre FRITZ!Box models already covered. Login password is a unique per-device string printed on the type label on the bottom of the housing, not a shared default, per AVM's own knowledge base.

Recovery & reset instructions

Press and hold the Reset button on the rear panel for about 5 seconds, or use System > Backup > Restore Factory Settings in the FRITZ!OS user interface.

AVMFRITZ!Box 6660 CableModem / gateway · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The FRITZ!Box 6660 Cable is a DOCSIS 3.1 cable gateway with Wi-Fi 6. It has no default admin/admin: the per-unit password is printed on the type label on the base and typed into http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1). Login is password-only.

Recovery & reset instructions

Restore defaults from System > Backup > Load Factory Settings in the FRITZ!OS interface, or dial #991*15901590* from a connected telephone and hang up after about three seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Box 7490Router · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword created during setup

The FRITZ!Box 7490 is an older VDSL/ADSL flagship. Unlike current models it ships with NO password at all — on the first visit to http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1) you must set your own. There is still no username field and no admin/admin default.

Recovery & reset instructions

Assign your own password on the first visit. To factory-reset, use System > Backup > Load Factory Settings in the interface, or dial #991*15901590* from an attached telephone and hang up after about three seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Box 7530Router · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The FRITZ!Box 7530 is a compact VDSL/ADSL router with DECT telephony. AVM ships it with a per-device user-interface password on the underside type label (no admin/admin, no username); type it in at http://fritz.box or 192.168.178.1.

Recovery & reset instructions

In the FRITZ!OS interface choose System > Backup > Load Factory Settings and confirm; alternatively dial #991*15901590* from a connected phone and hang up after a few seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Box 7530 AXRouter · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The 7530 AX adds Wi-Fi 6 to AVM's popular compact 7530 DSL router. Its user interface is protected by a unique factory password printed on the device label — not a universal default — and is reached at http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1) with a password only.

Recovery & reset instructions

Factory-reset from System > Backup > Load Factory Settings in the interface, or from a connected telephone dial #991*15901590* and hang up after roughly three seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Box 7583Router · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The FRITZ!Box 7583 is a VDSL supervectoring (35b) router aimed at long lines and small-business use, with DECT and telephony. It ships with a unique label password (no shared default, no username) used at http://fritz.box or 192.168.178.1.

Recovery & reset instructions

Reset via System > Backup > Load Factory Settings in the interface, or by dialling #991*15901590* on a connected phone and hanging up after a few seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Box 7590Router · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The FRITZ!Box 7590 is AVM's flagship VDSL/ADSL router with a built-in DECT base and analog/ISDN telephony. There is no admin/admin: each unit ships with its own password (4–6 lower-case letters then 4 digits) printed on the type label underneath, entered at http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1) with no username.

Recovery & reset instructions

Open the interface and choose System > Backup > Load Factory Settings and confirm — the LEDs flash once and the WLAN LED stays lit when finished. On a connected phone you can instead dial #991*15901590* and hang up after about three seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Box 7590 AXRouter · Webhttp://fritz.box (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The 7590 AX is the Wi-Fi 6 (AX) revision of AVM's 7590 DSL flagship. Login is password-only at http://fritz.box (192.168.178.1): the factory password is unique to the device and printed on its base label, so there is no shared default and no username field.

Recovery & reset instructions

Reset from the interface via System > Backup > Load Factory Settings (confirm, then the WLAN LED stays lit), or dial #991*15901590* on an attached telephone and hang up after roughly three seconds.

AVMFRITZ!Repeater 1200 AXMesh system · Webhttp://fritz.repeater (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.178.2 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) mesh extender, combined 2.4+5GHz throughput up to 3 Gbit/s, 1x Gigabit LAN port; joins a mesh via a FRITZ!Box/FRITZ!Repeater Mesh Master. AVM's first-party mesh-extender product line, previously absent despite many covered FRITZ!Box models.

Recovery & reset instructions

Press and hold the recessed Reset button for about 5 seconds until the LEDs flash, to restore factory settings; or trigger a mesh reset from the FRITZ!Box Mesh Master's Home Network > Mesh page.

AVMFRITZ!Repeater 2400Mesh system · Web–No username requiredPassword on the device label

Wi-Fi mesh range extender, paired with a FRITZ!Box or another FRITZ!Repeater as Mesh Master — a tier beyond the already-seeded FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX and 6000. Official AVM knowledge base: "The user interface of your FRITZ!Repeater is either protected with a unique password in the factory settings or you must assign your own password the first time you open the user interface... If your FRITZ!Repeater does have a factory-set password, the password is located on the type label of the FRITZ!Repeater and consists of one word with 4 to 6 lower-case letters, followed by 4 numerals."

Recovery & reset instructions

Press and hold the recessed RESET button (use a pin) for about 15 seconds until the LEDs flash, or trigger 'Load factory settings' from the repeater's/FRITZ!Box's user interface.

AVMFRITZ!Repeater 3000Mesh system · Webhttp://fritz.repeater (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

A tri-band step up from this run's 600, carrying AVM's older (pre-Wi-Fi 6) higher-throughput repeater chipset. AVM's knowledge base documents the identical credential mechanism across the FRITZ!Repeater line: "either protected with a unique password in the factory settings or you must assign your own," with that factory value "located on the type label ... one word with 4 to 6 lower-case letters, followed by 4 numerals."

Recovery & reset instructions

Type http://fritz.repeater into any browser; this address resolves locally even with no internet. Asked for a password? It's the code on the 3000's bottom label — a single lowercase word followed by four digits, no symbols. Missing or wrong? Create a fresh password right there on first access, or reuse whatever your Mesh Master already has set. A full wipe happens via the UI's System > Backup > Factory settings page, or the unit's physical reset button, after which the same login steps apply again.

AVMFRITZ!Repeater 3000 AXMesh system · Webhttp://fritz.repeater (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

The Wi-Fi 6 generation replacing this run's older tri-band 3000, newest of the three AVM repeaters added this run. The same AVM knowledge-base template applies: the interface "is either protected with a unique password in the factory settings or you must assign your own password the first time you open the user interface, or, if you did not assign a password during configuration, use the password of the Mesh Master (FRITZ!Box or FRITZ!Repeater)," with any factory password "located on the type label ... one word with 4 to 6 lower-case letters, followed by 4 numerals."

Recovery & reset instructions

Point a browser at http://fritz.repeater — no active internet connection is required for the page to open. If it asks for a password, flip the unit over: the sticker shows a one-word, lowercase-plus-4-digit code. Nothing there, or it fails? Pick your own password at that first screen, or enter your Mesh Master's password instead. Returning it to a blank slate means System > Backup > Factory settings in the admin UI, or the reset button, followed by the same first-login choices.

AVMFRITZ!Repeater 600Mesh system · Webhttp://fritz.repeater (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword on the device label

AVM's compact dual-band repeater — the smallest/entry tier of the three AVM mesh extenders added this run. Per AVM's knowledge base: a FRITZ!Repeater's interface "is either protected with a unique password in the factory settings or you must assign your own password the first time you open the user interface," and that factory password, where printed, "consists of one word with 4 to 6 lower-case letters, followed by 4 numerals."

Recovery & reset instructions

Browse to http://fritz.repeater (no internet connection needed for this to load). A login prompt may appear: look at the underside type label of the 600 for a short factory password — one word, lowercase letters plus 4 digits. Nothing printed there, or the password rejected? Set your own on this first visit, or sign in instead with your Mesh Master's existing password. Wiping it back to day-one state is done from System > Backup > Factory settings in the UI, or via the reset button on the case.

AVMFRITZ!Repeater 6000Mesh system · Web–No username requiredPassword on the device label

Wi-Fi 6 mesh repeater with three radio units (2x 5GHz + 1x 2.4GHz) for up to 6 Gbit/s combined throughput, 1x 2.5-gigabit LAN — AVM's higher mesh-repeater tier above the already-seeded FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX. AVM's official knowledge base: "If the FRITZ!Repeater user interface is already protected with a unique password in the factory settings, the password is located on the type label of the FRITZ!Repeater and consists of one word with 4 to 6 lower-case letters, followed by 4 numerals."

Recovery & reset instructions

If the assigned password is forgotten there is no way to recover it — restore the FRITZ!Repeater 6000 to factory settings via the recessed Reset button (or the FRITZ!Box Mesh Master's Home Network > Mesh page) to regain access; all configuration is lost.

How to reach your router

  1. Connect your computer or phone to the router’s Wi-Fi or an Ethernet port.
  2. Open a documented login address. If it does not load, look for the Router or Default gateway address in your device’s network settings.
  3. Match your model and hardware revision to the table. Use the device label or your setup password when the model has no shared default.

Admin password or Wi-Fi password?

The admin password opens the router’s settings. The Wi-Fi password connects a device to the wireless network. They may be different, and an ISP or cloud account can be separate again.

If the password does not work

Check capitalization and the device label, then use the manufacturer’s password-recovery instructions. A factory reset erases settings and may require ISP setup details; follow the instructions for your exact model.
