INSTRUCTIONS
For 2.5-inch SATA SSD:
- Turn off your computer and unplug the power cable.
- Open the case or laptop storage compartment.
- Remove the existing hard drive or find an empty 2.5-inch bay.
- Mount the SSD using screws or brackets.
- Connect the SATA data cable to the motherboard and SATA power cable from the PSU.
- Close the case and reconnect power.
- Boot the system and initialize the SSD in the operating system if necessary.
For M.2 NVMe SSD:
- Power off the system and unplug.
- Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
- Remove any existing M.2 screw.
- Insert the M.2 SSD at a 30° angle and press down gently.
- Secure with the screw.
- Close the case and power on the system.
- Initialize the SSD via disk management if it’s a new drive.
How to Use
- After installation, check BIOS/UEFI to ensure the SSD is recognized.
- Format the SSD if it’s a new drive using your operating system’s disk management tools.
- Install your operating system, applications, and data on the SSD for optimal performance.
- Use as a primary or secondary storage device depending on your setup.
Safety Tips
- Always power down the system before installing or removing the SSD.
- Handle the SSD by its edges to avoid static discharge damage.
- Do not bend or force the SSD into the slot.
- Use anti-static protection (wrist strap or mat) when handling the drive.
- Do not expose the SSD to extreme temperatures or liquids.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| SSD not detected | Loose connection or unrecognized in BIOS | Check cables, reseat M.2 or SATA, enable in BIOS |
| Slow performance | Fragmented system or outdated drivers | Update drivers, enable AHCI/OS optimization |
| Boot failure | OS not installed or boot order incorrect | Set SSD as primary boot device, reinstall OS |
| Data loss | Power failure or corruption | Restore from backup, use recovery software |
| Excessive heat | Poor ventilation | Improve airflow, ensure correct installation |
