Product Usage Instructions:
Mounting & Connecting:
LANCOM 1800EF-4G
LTE/4G Antenna Connectors: Screw the supplied mobile
radio antennas to the appropriate connectors. Ensure the device is
switched off when attaching or replacing antennas.
Micro SIM Card Slot: Slide the SIM card into the slot
with the marker facing the right way. The SIM card should click
into place. Only insert or remove the SIM card when the device is
switched off.
Ethernet Interfaces: Use the cable with kiwi-colored
connectors to connect ETH 1 to ETH 4 to your PC or LAN switch.
WAN Interface: Use the cable with green connectors to
connect the WAN interface to your WAN modem.
SFP Interface: Insert a suitable LANCOM SFP module into
the SFP port and connect it with a compatible cable following the
module’s mounting instructions.
USB Interface: Connect a USB data medium or printer to
the USB interface using a compatible cable (not supplied).
Serial USB-C Configuration Interface: Use a USB-C cable
for optional configuration of the device on the serial console
(cable not included).
Power Supply Connection Socket: Use only the supplied
power adapter and ensure proper installation as per the enclosed
guide.
Setting Up:
Please observe the following when setting up the
device:
- Use self-adhesive rubber pads if setting up on a table.
- Avoid placing objects on top of the device or stacking multiple
devices. - Keep all ventilation slots clear of obstruction.
Rack Installation:
Rack installation is possible with the optional LANCOM Rack
Mount/Rack Mount Plus (sold separately).
FAQ:
Q: Can I replace the antennas while the device is switched
on?
A: No, antennas may only be attached or replaced when the device
is switched off to avoid damaging the 4G modules.
Q: What should I do if the SIM card does not click into
place?
A: Ensure you are inserting the SIM card in the correct
orientation and try again. Do not force it into place.
Q: Can I use third-party accessories with this device?
A: No, support for third-party accessories is not provided.

Hardware Quick Reference

LTE- / 4G antenna connectors Screw the supplied mobile radio antennas to the appropriate connectors.
Antennas may only be attached or replaced when the device is switched
off. Mounting or dismounting while the device is switched on may
destroy the 4G modules!
Micro SIM card slot Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot using the marker to ensure that
the card is the right way round. Ensure that the SIM card clicks into place
on insertion.
To remove the card from the device, press the card lightly into the
device. Let go to release the SIM card from the slot.
The SIM card may only be inserted or removed when the device is switched off. Inserting or removing while the device is switched on may destroy the 4G modules!
Ethernet interfaces Use the cable with the kiwi-colored connectors to connect one of the
interfaces ETH 1 to ETH 4 to your PC or a LAN switch.
WAN interface Use the cable with the green connectors to connect the WAN interface
to your WAN modem.
SFP interface Insert a suitable LANCOM SFP module (e.g. 1000Base-SX or
1000Base-LX) into the SFP port. Choose a cable compatible with the
SFP module and connect it as described in the SFP module’s mounting
instructions www.lancom-systems.com/SFP-module-MI.
SFP module and cable to be connected to it are not included.
USB interface Connect a USB data medium or a USB printer to the USB interface.

Serial USB-C configuration interface A USB-C cable can be used for optional configuration of the device on
the serial console. (cable not included)
Power supply connection socket Use only the supplied power adapter!
Before initial startup, please make sure to take notice of the information regarding the intended use in the enclosed installation guide!
Operate the device only with a professionally installed power supply at a nearby power socket that is freely accessible at all times.
The power plug of the device must be freely accessible.
