DESCRIPTION OF SYMBOLS

The rating plate on your tool may show symbols. These represent important information about the product or instructions on its use.

	DANGER! – Read the operating instructions to reduce the risk of inquiry.

If you give the equipment to any other person, hand over these  operating instructions and safety regulations as well. We cannot accept any liability for damage or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow these instructions and the safety instructions.

GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNING

WARNING!
Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

1) Work area safety

• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2) Electrical safety

• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.
  Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
  Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
• If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

3) Personal safety

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.
  Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
  A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
• Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.

4) Power tool use and care

• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce  the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.  in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

5) Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
6) Battery tool use and care
a. Ensure the switch is in the off position before inserting battery pack. Inserting the battery pack into power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
b. Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
c. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
d. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
e.Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE BATTERY PACK AND BATTERY SAFETY
Use only the WORKPROX batteries supplied with the WORKPROX Tool or WORKPROX-approved replacements.
Do not use the battery to power any device other than the WORKPROX tool it was sold with.
Do not charge the battery in a place where static electricity is generated nor let the battery touch something that is statically charged.
The battery can be stored at temperatures between 40°F(4°C) and 104°F(40°C).
Never store or leave your lithium ion battery in temperatures over that recommended otherwise fire may occur.
DO NOT store the Lithium Ion battery anywhere that the temperature can easily reach higher temperatures than recommended -this includes garden type sheds, and vehicles where the inside temperature can climb to dangerous levels in the direct sunlight and on high temperature days. THINK BEFORE LEAVING YOUR LITHIUM ION BATTERY PACK IN STORAGE.
The battery can be charged or operated at temperatures between 40°F(4°C) and 104°F(40°C).
NEVER CHARGE YOU LITHIUM ION BATTERY BELOW OR ABOVE TEMPERATURES RECOMMENDED OTHERWISE FIRE OR SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY PACK MAY OCCUR.
The most suitable temperatures to charge the battery pack are between 68°F(20°C) -77°F(25°C).
Always allow the battery pack to cool down after charging, do not place it in a hot environment such as a metal shed or open trailer left in the sun.
Take care where the tool is stored. Do not store in areas of corrosive fumes, or salt air or similar conditions. Try and store the tool in the packaging supplied with the tool.
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire or put the battery into a microwave oven, conventional oven, dryer, or high-pressure container. Under these conditions, the battery may explode.
Never attempt to open the battery pack, puncture the battery or subject the battery to strong physical shock.
If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks open or cracks, immediately discontinue its use and do not recharge it. Ensure the battery pack clip is in good condition and will not allow the pack to fall free from the tool. If the clip is damaged or for any reason is not locking the pack in place, Do Not continue to use.
Stop using the battery if it exhibits abnormal heat, odour, colour, deformation, or is in an abnormal condition.
If you detect leakage or a foul odour, it is especially important to keep the battery away from fire. If battery liquid leaks onto your skin or clothes, wash well with clean water immediately. If liquid leaking from the battery gets into your eyes, do not rub your eyes. Rinse your eyes well (for at least 10 minutes) with clean water, and consult a doctor immediately.
Do not use a leaking battery.
Handle batteries with care to avoid shorting the battery with conducting materials, such as nails, screws, metal watch bands, rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery may overheat and could burn you.
After the battery has reached the end of its useful life, we recommend recycling the materials at your local municipal council recycling centre. DO NOT attempt to replace the battery cells in the battery pack, repair or modify any part of the battery pack assembly.
When recycling, make it nonconductive by applying insulating tape to the terminals located on the battery.

WHEN TO CHARGE THE BATTERY
New batteries are shipped in a low charged condition and should be fully charged before Use. The battery pack can be recharged at any time during use, provided the pack is not overheated.
If the battery pack starts to cut out due to low voltage, or previous tasks undertaken can no longer be performed, it is suggested to stop using the tool and recharge the battery.
For storage, it is suggested to recharge the battery between 50% and 75% charge.Charge the device at least once in 3-6 months to preserve battery life span.

7) Cordless string trimmer safety warnings

• Always keep proper footing and operate the String trimmer only when standing on fixed, secure and level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces may cause a loss of balance or control of the Power tool.
• Before turning the String trimmer on, remove any adjusting key or wrench. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the String trimmer may result in personal injury.
• AVOID accidental starting. DO NOT push any switch the of the String trimmer before connecting the battery pack.
• Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition may affect the equipment’s operation.
• DO NOT allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. Not recommended for use by children.
• STAY ALERT, watch what you are doing. Use common sense.
• DO NOT operate String trimmer when you are tired.
• Keep handles and grasping surface dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handle and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the String trimmer in unexpected situations.
• Before inserting the battery pack into the tool, always check that the Trigger and the Safety lock buttons can be pulled freely and will return to its original position when released, please check that the tool is in good and safe working condition, make sure the Guard cover is in place, and do not use the tool until it is fully installed.
• Never position hand near or directly in front of working area. Always hold the tool with both hands and must wear protective equipment.
• Disconnect the battery pack from the equipment before making any adjustment or storing the equipment. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the equipment accidentally.
• After each use, to prevent accidental start, please ensure that the battery on the Power tool has been pulled out. And to prevent accidental cuts, please wear protective gloves.
• DO NOT attempt to modify this Power tool or create accessories not recommended for use with this Power tool. Any such alteration or modification is misuse and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious injury.
• To prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the Power tool when assembling parts, making adjustments, or cleaning the tool.
• Operate the tool only by grasping the insulated handle, because the blade may come into contact with hidden wires. When the blade comes into contact with a live wire, exposed metal parts of the power tool may also become live and shock the operator.
• Keep all parts of the body at a certain distance from the blade. Do not remove the cutting material or hold down the material while the blade is moving.
• Make sure the switch is off when removing jammed material, distraction during operation of the Power tool can result in serious personal injury.

8) Protection system

• The tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection system. This system automatically cuts off power to the motor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation.

Overload protection
When the tool is operated in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high current, the tool automatically stops without any indication, In this situation, turn the tool off and stop the application that caused the tool to become overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.
Overheat protection
Continuous operation of the tool will cause the battery temperature to rise and heat up. The tool will automatically stop without any instructions. in this case, the battery activates the temperature protection and will reboot after tool and battery cool down.
Low power protection
When the battery capacity is not enough, the tool stops automatically. In this case, remove the battery from the tool and charge the battery.

ASSEMBLY

WARNING!
Always remove battery pack before changing or removing accessories. Only use accessories specifically recommended for this tool.

5.1 Assembling the tri-fold shaft
Step 1:
Unpack the tri-fold shaft carefully, they are joined by internal wiring.(See Fig.2)
Step 2:
To connect the Lower shaft to the Middle section, align the Stop pin(A) and the Pinhole(B), press the pin and insert the Lower shaft into the Middle section until the pin locked in the pinhole securely.(See Fig.3)
Step 3:
To connect the Middle section to the Upper shaft, align the Stop pin(A) and the Pinhole(B), press the pin and insert the Middle section into the Upper shaft until the pin locked in the pinhole securely.(See Fig.4)

5.2 Installing the spacer guard and the safety guard
WARNING!
Using the string trimmer without proper installation of the Safety guard and Spacer guard may result in serious personal injury.
Step 1:
As shown below, fit the Spacer guard into the groove on Cutting head.(See Fig.5)
Step 2:
Use the supplied Philips screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the Cutting head, fit the Safety guard into the slots and line up the screw holes,then install the screws and tighten them.(See Fig.6)

5.3 Installing the auxiliary handle and adjusting angle
Step 1: Press in on Auxiliary handle rotation buttons on both sides of Upper shaft and position the handle as shown below.(See Fig.7)
Step 2: Partially push the handle on so it will hold the buttons in when you release them with your hand. Push the handle completely onto the housing and position it slightly until it “snaps” into place.
Step 3: To adjust the handle up or down, press in on both Auxiliary handle rotation buttons and raise or lower the handle. The handle should be adjusted so that your front arm is straight when the trimmer is in the working position.(See Fig.8)

5.4 Inserting/Removing the Battery pack (Fig.9)

• To remove the battery, push in the release buttons and pull the battery pack away from the tool.
• To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body of the tool. Make sure it latches securely into place.

WARNING!

• Always switch off the tool before installing or removing the battery pack.
• Hold the tool and the battery pack firmly when installing or removing the battery pack. Failure to hold the tool and the battery pack firmly may cause them to slip off your hands and result in damage to the tool and battery pack and a personal injury.

BATTERY PACK

6.1 Battery capacity indicator (Fig.10)
The battery pack has an LED screen, and press the can display real-time power level. The screen will automatically turn off in three seconds.

6.2 Recharge the battery pack (Fig.11)
To charge your battery pack, connect one end of the USB cable with a USB-C port to the corresponding USB-C port on the battery pack, and connect the other end to a USB-C or USB-A interface charger.

6.3 Charge portable device (Fig.12-13)

• Press the button as shown in, the indicator will light up green to indicate that the battery pack is active and that the USB ports are ready to be used.(See Fig.12)
• Plug the USB cable into the correct port, and the other end of the cable into your device to begin charging the device.(See Fig.13)
• After charging, disconnect the USB cables, press the button to turn the indicator off.

NOTE: The green light remains on during output.After pressing the button, if no USB cable is connected for an extended period, the green light will automatically turn off after 5 minutes.

OPERATION

CAUTION:
Inspect area to be trimmed and remove any wire, cord, or string-like objects which could become entangled in the rotating line or spool. Be particularly careful to avoid any wire which might be bent outwardly into the path of the appliance, such as barbs at the base of a chain link fence.

WARNING!

• Use personal protective equipment. ALWAYS wear  eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection use a for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.
  They can be caught in moving parts. Gloves and substantial rubber soled footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Don’t operate the appliance when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Wear heavy long pants to protect your legs.Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.

7.1 Turn the equipment on (Fig. 14)

• The tool is equipped with Safety lock buttons on both sides, so both left-handed person and right-handed person can easily start the machine.
• To turn the equipment on, press the Safety lock button (A) first, then squeeze the Trigger (B) simultaneously.

7.2 Auto feed head & Adjusting The Line Length

• The line will automatically feed when the trimmer is started.
• During use, the line will become worn, or may break off if it strikes a stone or a similar hard object.
• If the cutting line requires more feeding, please restart the trimmer. the line will automatically feed when the trimmer is being restarted. Excess line will be cut off by the cutting blade.
• After starting the tool for 3-5 seconds, the tool will be in a stable state. Before the tool enters a stable state, do not start the machine repeatedly, which will cause unnecessary consumption of string lines.

NOTE: In order to keep the unit running, you must continuously squeeze the Safety lock button (A) and Trigger (B). To turn the unit off, just release the Trigger.
WARNING!
Operate the machine with both hands during operation, when you hold the rear handle with one hand, the other hand should hold the Auxiliary handle.

7.3 Trimming
Tilt the machine toward the area to be cut, Use the tip of the string line to cut grass. Slowly swing the machine from right to left to prevent thrown debris toward the operator.(See Fig.15)
While trimming, maintain a cutting angle of 5° to 10°, do not exceed 10°.(See Fig.16)
Maintain a minimum distance of 24 inches (609.6 mm) between the guard and your feet.(See Fig.17)
NOTE: According to different cutting requirements, you can press the Cutting head rotation button and adjust the angle from 0°-90°.(See Fig.18)

NOTE:

• Use the tip of the line to do the cutting. Do not cut in the dangerous area.
• Do not force the trimmer head into uncut grass.
• Wire fences, picket fences, brick wall, curbs, or wood can cause extra wear, even breakage.

WARNING!

• The wheel only serves for easier guidance when trimming edges, it should not be used for cutting.
• Risk of damage to the unit! Avoid contact with solid surfaces to prevent rapid wear of the string line.

7.4 Edging
The trimmer can be used in edging mode to trim overhanging grass along lawn edges and flower beds.(See Fig.19-21)

• Remove the battery pack from the tool.
• Press the Cutting head rotation button, rotate the cutting head to 0°.
• Press the Shaft rotation button, rotate the shaft to 90°, then the string trimmer is in Edging mode.

WARNING!
When being used as an Edger, stones, pieces of metal and other objects can be thrown out at high speed by the line. The trimmer and guard are designed to reduce the danger. However, the following special precautions should be taken: MAKE SURE that other persons and pets are at least 100 feet(30m)away. Optimum cutting results are achieved on edges deeper than 2 inches (50 mm).
Position the edging wheel on the edge of the sidewalk or abrasive surface so the string line is over the grass or dirt area to be edged. Using the edging wheel guide the trimmer as shown in Fig.22.

NOTE:

• You will experience faster than normal string, line wear if the trimmer line is positioned directly over the sidewalk or abrasive surface.
• To return to trimming mode, first press the Cutting head rotation button, adjust to your ideal angle, then press Shaft rotation button, rotate the shaft clockwise back to its original position.

7.5 Instruction of the spacer guard
When you use the tool where there are flowers and  plants, to protect them, pull out the Spacer guard on the cutting head. As shown below, the Spacer guard helps distancing flowers and plants from the tip of cutting line.(See Fig.23)

NOTE:
If you don’t need to protect flowers and plants while working, retract the Spacer guard back.

7.6 String line feeding instruction and replacement Instruction
This trimmer is equipped with a line cut-off blade on the guard. The line tips will fray and wear during use, and the special self-feeding spool will automatically feed and the cut-off blade will trim a new section.(See Fig.24)

NOTE:
After starting the tool for 3-5 seconds, the tool will be in a stable state. Before the tool enters a stable state, do not start the machine repeatedly, which will cause unnecessary consumption of string lines.

Replacement
The string trimmer comes with 2 string spools.(See Fig.25-26)

• Press the Lock tabs (A) on both sides of the spool housing, and remove the Spool cap(B).
• Grasp empty spool with one hand and spool housing with other hand and pull spool out.
• Remove any dirt and grass from the spool and housing.
• Insert the end of string line into the Eyelet (C) and fit the replacement spool into housing until it is seated,the line should protrude approximately 10 inches.
• Install the Spool cap(B) back securely.

NOTE:
Hand wound spools from bulk line are likely to become tangled more frequently than WORKPROX String line spools. For best results, WORKPROX String line spools are recommended.
To install bulk line, follow the steps below:(See Fig.27)
Remove battery from the String trimmer, and remove the empty String spool.
Remove any remaining cutting line from the spool.
Make a fold at the end of the cutting line at about 3/4 inch (19mm), insert the end into the Anchoring hole(A).
Wind the string line onto the spool in the direction of the arrow on the spool. Make sure to wind the line on neatly and in layers, do not crisscross.
When the wound cutting line reaches the Recesses(B), cut the line.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition may affect the equipment’s operation. If damaged, contact us before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained equipment.

WARNING!
Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment.

8.1 Cleaning

• Remove the battery first.
• Keep the machine and the motor free of leaves, branches or excessive oil to prevent fire risks. Clean the machine after use with a moist cloth dipped in neutral detergent.
• Do not use aggressive detergents or solvents to clean the plastic parts or handles. Keep the trimmer head free of grass, leaves, or excessive grease.
• Keep the air vents clean and free of debris to avoid overheating and damage to the motor or the battery.
• Do not spray water onto the motor and electrical components.
• Plastic parts may be cleaned by using a mild soap and a damp rag.

8.2 Maintenance
There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

STORAGE

• Clean the exterior of the machine thoroughly using a soft brush and cloth, Do not use water, solvents or polishes.
• Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5°C（41°F）and 30°C（86°F）. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.
• For storage, it is suggested to recharge the battery between 50% and 75% charge.
• Charge the device at least once in 3-6 months to preserve battery life span.

DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

This product has been marked with a symbol relating to removing electric and electronic waste. This means that this product shall not be discarded with household waste but that it shall be returned to a collection system.
It will then be recycled or dismantled in order to reduce the impact on the environment.
Electric and electronic equipment can be hazardous for the environment and for human health since they contain hazardous substances.

DISPOSAL OF AN EXHAUSTED BATTERY PACK
To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of the battery pack properly. This battery pack contains Li-ion batteries.
