Introduction

The AURA STORM-545BT is a versatile car stereo receiver offering Bluetooth, USB, and FM radio functionality.

  1. When installing the unit, avoid places with high temperature, humidity, or excessive dust.

  8. This product is designed for use with 12-volt DC negative-ground electrical systems. Using it with positive-ground systems or voltages other than 12 volts may damage the vehicle and the unit.

Installation

  1. Install the mounting sleeve into the standard 1DIN opening provided by the vehicle manufacturer. If the dashboard opening is 2DIN, use AURA brand adapter frames.
  2. Use a screwdriver to bend the metal tabs on the mounting sleeve outwards to secure it in place.
  3. Check electrical connections, connectors, or individual wires (depending on the vehicle's wiring harness). Connect the main connector to the unit. Verify system functionality before securing the unit in the mounting sleeve.
  4. Insert the unit into the mounting sleeve and slide it in until it clicks into place.

Note: In some car makes (e.g., TOYOTA, HONDA), the unit is mounted with screws to the factory brackets. In such cases, the mounting sleeve is not used.

Connections

Power Connection

Ensure your vehicle's onboard voltage is +12V DC.

  1. Before connecting wires, remove the fuse from the unit.
  2. Connect the Yellow wire (A4) to the +12V constant power circuit.
  3. Connect the Red wire (A7) to the ACC terminal of the ignition switch.
  4. Connect the Black wire (A8) to the metal part of the vehicle's chassis [Ground].
  5. Connect the Blue wire (A5) to the amplifier remote turn-on or antenna power control input.
  6. Connect the Orange wire (A6) to the circuit that receives +12V when the parking lights are on.
  7. Connect the remaining wires according to the diagram.

Note: To avoid high current draw and unstable operation, if connecting the Red power wire (A7) to constant +12V (along with Yellow A4), set the "CAR ACC" function in the "SYSTEM" menu to "NO".

Speaker Outputs:

  • SUB: RCA for subwoofer

Front Panel Controls

The unit features a comprehensive set of controls:

  1. Power / Source [?/SRC]: Turn the unit on/off or select the audio source.
  2. Next Track / Fast Forward / Radio Tuning [⏭️]: Advance to the next track or seek radio stations.
  3. Volume Control / Settings / Confirm [3]: Adjust volume, navigate settings menus, and confirm selections.
  4. IR Receiver [4]: For the remote control.
  5. LCD Display [5]: Shows information about the current operation.
  6. USB Port [6]: For connecting USB storage devices.
  7. Receive / End Call / Voice Assistant / Radio Band [7 ?]: Answer/end calls, activate voice assistant, or switch radio bands (FM1, FM2, FM3).
  8. Display Info / Display Off [8]: Change display information or turn off the display.
  9. Previous Track / Rewind / Radio Tuning [9 ⏮️]: Go back to the previous track or seek radio stations.
  10. Microphone [10]: For hands-free calls.

Remote Control

The remote control provides access to most unit functions:

  1. Power / Source: Turn the unit on/off or select the audio source.
  2. Volume Up [VOL+]: Increase volume.
  3. Radio Band / Answer Call [BAND/SEL]: Select radio band or answer incoming calls.
  4. Previous Track / Rewind / Radio Tuning [⏮️]: Go back to the previous track, rewind, or seek radio stations.
  5. Source Select: Choose the audio source.
  6. Next Track / Fast Forward / Radio Tuning [⏭️]: Advance to the next track, fast forward, or seek radio stations.
  7. Mute [MUTE]: Temporarily silence the audio output.
  8. Volume Down [VOL-]: Decrease volume.
  9. Preset 1 / Pause [INT]: Select preset 1 or pause playback.
  10. Preset 2 / Track Scan [RPT]: Select preset 2 or enable track scanning.
  11. Preset 3 / Repeat Mode: Select preset 3 or set repeat playback mode.
  12. Preset 4 / Shuffle Mode: Select preset 4 or set random playback mode.
  13. Preset 5 / Skip Back 10 Tracks: Select preset 5 or go back 10 tracks.
  14. Preset 6 / Skip Forward 10 Tracks: Select preset 6 or go forward 10 tracks.
  15. Radio Reception Mode (Mono/Stereo): Select mono or stereo reception.
  16. Tone Compensation (LOUD): Enable loudness compensation.
  17. Scan / AMS: Scan for stations or activate Automatic Memory Scan.
  18. Source Select: Choose the audio source.
  19. EQ Preset: Select an equalizer preset.
  20. Tuner Sensitivity (LOC): Adjust tuner sensitivity.

Remote Control Usage:

  • Point the remote control's emitter towards the unit's sensor.
  • The effective angle for signal reception is approximately 30 degrees.
  • The distance between the remote and the unit's sensor should be less than 5 meters.
  • A weak battery may cause the remote control to malfunction.
  • Keep batteries out of reach of children.

Remote Control Battery Replacement

The remote control comes with a CR-2025 lithium battery, protected by a plastic tab. Remove this tab before use.

  1. When the battery loses its charge, replace it as shown in the diagram.
  2. Press and hold the lock tab (arrow 1) and pull out the battery tray (arrow 2).
  3. Replace the old battery with a new one, observing correct polarity (ensure [+] is on top).
  4. Insert the battery tray back into the remote control.

Basic Operations

Power On/Off

Press any button to turn the unit on. Press and hold the (1) ?/SRC button to turn it off.

Volume Control

Rotate the volume knob (3) to set the desired volume level.

Source Selection

Press the (1) ?/SRC button to cycle through sources: Radio ➔ USB ➔ AUX in ➔ Bluetooth.

Mute

Press button (11) ? to mute the audio.

Menu Settings

Press the volume knob (3) and rotate it to select a menu section: AUDIO (Sound Settings), DISPLAY (Display Settings), TUNER (Radio Settings), BLUETOOTH, SYSTEM (System Settings). Press the volume knob (3) again to enter the selected section.

Audio Settings

EQ Setting (Equalizer)

The unit features 6 preset EQ memory slots. You can customize settings using the "Custom" (User) option or choose from 14 preset sound profiles.

To quickly recall a preset, double-press one of the buttons 1-6.

  • Custom: Manual 20-band equalizer adjustment (from -9 dB to +9 dB). Frequencies available: 32 / 63 / 125 / 160 / 250 / 315 / 500 / 630 / 800 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.6 / 2.5 / 3.15 / 5 / 6.3 / 8 / 10 / 12.5 / 16 kHz.
  • EQ Reset: Resets equalizer settings to default.

Presets:

Flat, Classic, Rock, Pop, Easy, Top 40, JAZZ, Vocal, Country, Super Bass, Natural, Electric, Powerful, Dynamic.

Bass Boost

Enable and adjust bass boost for low frequencies (2 levels).

Loudness

Enable and adjust loudness compensation (2 levels).

Subwoofer Settings

Select L.P.F. (Low Pass Filter) cutoff frequency: 80 / 120 / 160 Hz.

Adjust subwoofer level: Off / 0 to -12 dB.

Fader

Adjust the relative volume between front and rear speakers.

Balance

Adjust the relative volume between left and right channels.

Volume Limit

Set the maximum possible volume level (3 - 62).

Power Up Volume

Set the initial volume level when the receiver is turned on (1 - 62). For correct operation, the Red power wire must be connected to the ACC ignition switch.

Display Settings

Color Select

Adjust the RGB backlight color.

  • All Zone: Select color for both zones simultaneously.
  • Zone 1, Zone 2: Select color for each zone independently.
  • Reset: Restore default color settings.

Dimmer

Adjust backlight dimming (On/Off or select two dimming levels). For correct operation, the Orange wire (A6) must be connected to the +12V circuit of the parking lights.

Tuner (Radio) Settings

Local Seek

Enable/disable local seek tuning.

Stereo Set

Enable/disable stereo reception.

Regional

Select broadcast region (Europe, USA, Asia, Russia).

Band Selection

Press button (7) BND to select the broadcast band: FM1, FM2, FM3.

Saving and Recalling Radio Stations

Press and hold one of the numeric buttons (1-6) to save the current station to memory. Press one of the numeric buttons (1-6) to recall a saved station.

Up to 6 stations can be saved in each band.

Automatic Station Search

Press button (9) ⏮️ or (2) ⏭️ for quick station search.

Automatic Station Search and Save

Press and hold button (13) for more than 2 seconds. The unit will perform a quick search and automatically save 18 FM stations with strong signals.

Manual Station Search

Press and hold button (9) ⏮️ or (2) ⏭️ for more than 2 seconds to enter manual tuning mode. Press button (9) ⏮️ or (2) ⏭️ to step through frequencies.

USB

Connect a USB storage device to the front panel USB port. Playback of MP3 and FLAC files will start automatically. The USB port also supports charging mobile devices (1A charging current).

Note: A wide variety of software is available for encoding FLAC, MP3, and WAV files. Low playback quality or noise may occur depending on the encoding status and file format. In some cases, playback may not be possible.

Track Selection

Press button (9) ⏮️ or (2) ⏭️ to go to the previous or next track.

Fast Forward/Rewind

Press and hold button (9) ⏮️ or (2) ⏭️ to fast forward or rewind.

Playback / Pause

Press button (19) ▶️/⏸️ to pause playback. Press again to resume.

Track Scan

Press button (20) INT to play the first 10 seconds of each track. Press again to stop scanning.

Repeat Playback

Press button (17) to select repeat mode:

  • RPT FLD - Repeat playback of all files in the current folder.
  • RPT ALL - Repeat playback of all files on the device.
  • RPT ONE - Repeat playback of the current file.

Random Playback

Press button (18) to enable random playback mode. Press again to disable.

Folder and Track Navigation

Press button (16) ◀️ or (15) ▶️ to switch to the previous or next folder. Press and hold button (16) ◀️ or (15) ▶️ to skip back or forward 10 tracks.

Bluetooth

Phone Pairing

Pair your phone with the receiver:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  2. Find "STORM-545BT" in the list of available Bluetooth devices and connect. The PIN code for authorization is: 1234.
  3. Upon successful connection, the "BT" indicator on the receiver's display will stop flashing and remain solid.
  4. Audio signals (music and calls) from your mobile device will be transmitted to the car speakers.

Outgoing Calls

Dial the number on your phone. The call will be made via hands-free.

Incoming Calls

When an incoming call arrives, the caller's number will be displayed on the receiver. Press button (7) ? to accept the call via hands-free.

Ending Calls

To reject an incoming call or end a conversation, press and hold button (7) ?.

Call Last Dialed Number

Press and hold button (7) on the receiver to call the last number from your phone's call history. Press button (7) on the receiver to activate Siri.

Switching Between Phone and Hands-Free

During a call, press button (7) to transfer the audio signal between hands-free mode and your phone.

Volume Adjustment

Rotate the volume knob while on a call to adjust the volume level. Press button (11) ? to mute the sound.

Bluetooth Music (A2DP)

The receiver supports A2DP Bluetooth audio streaming. After successfully pairing your mobile device, you can play music from your phone through the car's audio system.

To switch tracks, press buttons (9) ⏮️ or (2) ⏭️. To stop playback, press button (19) ▶️/⏸️.

AUX IN

You can connect an external audio source via the 3.5mm jack on the front panel using an AURA AUX cable (sold separately).

Reset Settings

Remove the front panel. Press the reset button for 10 seconds to reset all settings except sound settings.

Smartphone Application

Most unit settings are available through the AurA Audio mobile application for Android and iOS.

You can control the receiver from your smartphone:

  1. Install the AurA app from Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the receiver via Bluetooth.
  3. Launch the AurA app to control the receiver.

Steering Wheel Control (SWC) Programming

This function is available only in vehicles with resistive steering wheel controls where the common button wire is connected to the vehicle's chassis ground.

For correct operation, connect the factory remote control wires to the ISO connector (section A).

SWC Wiring

The chassis ground wire (WHEEL GND) of the steering wheel remote control should be connected to the Black GND wire (A8). The signal wires WHEEL KEY A and WHEEL KEY B should be connected to wires A1 (Brown/Black) and A2 (Brown) respectively.

The operating voltage range for connected remote control buttons is 0.3V to 3.3V. The minimum difference between button operating voltages should be at least 0.3V; otherwise, buttons may be registered as one.

WARNING: The manufacturer does not guarantee correct operation with all car models and is not responsible for problems arising from incorrect connection to the vehicle's wiring.

For correct connection of the factory resistive remote control, consult your vehicle's official dealer or a certified installation center.

Programming Procedure

  1. Navigate to SYSTEM (SYSTEM) menu.
  2. Enter the SWC section and select one of the two memory banks (SWC 1 or SWC 2).
  3. Go to ENABLE and select YES.
  4. Press the "Back" button and select PROGRAM. The message "PRESS KEY 1" will flash on the display.

Follow these steps:

  1. Press the button on the steering wheel you wish to assign a function to. The message "CHOOSE KEY 1" will flash on the display.
  2. Select one of the unit's buttons to assign its function. Upon successful assignment, the message "PRESS KEY 2" will flash on the display.
  3. Repeat steps 1-2 for as many buttons as you need to assign functions to.
  4. Press the rotary knob on the front panel to save the settings. The message "SAVED x KEYS" will appear, and the unit will return to the SWC menu.

Note: A total of 9 functions can be programmed. To disable programmed buttons, go to the SWC menu, select ENABLE, and set it to NO.

The manufacturer guarantees the high quality and reliability of its products, provided the operating instructions are followed. The warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase. It covers defects arising from faulty materials or manufacturing.

Warranty obligations are fulfilled within the Russian Federation by the manufacturer, authorized organizations, authorized dealers, and service centers listed on the manufacturer's website.

The product is not subject to warranty repair if it shows the following signs:

  1. Entry of water or other liquids into the product.
  2. Incorrectly completed warranty card or its absence.
  3. Unqualified installation (connecting the product with inadequate wire cross-section, placement in a location hindering cooling).
  4. Interference with the product's construction.

In case of disputes not covered by the above list, the Authorized Service Center will make the decision after technical expertise.

The warranty does not cover parts with a limited service life (batteries, fuses, etc.). The warranty is void if the product is used for industrial purposes.
