JBL Commercial Solutions Series CSR Series Remote Control User Guide

This guide provides information on the JBL CSR series remote controls, including the CSR-V, CSR-2SV, and CSR-3SV models.

Product Overview

The JBL Commercial CSR series remote controls (CSR-V, CSR-2SV, and CSR-3SV) utilize analog DC voltage for logic control of source selection and volume. They connect via Cat 5 cable with RJ-45 connectors, supporting lengths up to 1000 feet (305 m). These controls allow for remote source selection and volume adjustment on compatible CSM mixers.

Using the Remote Control

Source Selection

The Source Selection control functions only when the Source Selector knob on the mixer for that zone is set to “REMOTE”. When active, the green LED below the Source switch (labelled ACTIVE) on the remote control will light up. If the LED is not lit, the remote source control is not operational.

Volume Control

The LEVEL control on the mixer is always operational. The remote control functions as an attenuator only.

To set the remote control volume:

  1. Turn the remote control LEVEL knob to maximum (full clockwise).
  2. Set the mixer's volume control to the highest level needed for the system.
  3. Turn the remote control LEVEL knob down to a comfortable operating level. The remote control's volume will now be limited by this setting, preventing it from exceeding the maximum set on the mixer.

Trouble-shooting

Problem 1: The green LED on the remote control below the Source switch (labelled ACTIVE) can not be lit.

Problem 2: Malfunction between the remote control and the mixer occurs.

Solution: Check the cable and pins using the following definitions:
