JBL Control 445C/T
Premium Coverage Series – Two-way 5.25” Coaxial Ceiling Loudspeaker with RBI
Overview
The JBL Control 445C/T is a professional in-ceiling loudspeaker from the Premium Coverage Series, engineered for superior sonic performance, wide bandwidth, and consistent coverage. It is designed for applications requiring high-quality sound reproduction in commercial and professional environments.
The loudspeaker features JBL's exclusive conical Radiation Boundary Integrator® (RBI) technology, which acts as a large waveguide for the tweeter. Low-frequency sound is projected through specially designed apertures in the RBI, ensuring seamless integration of coverage between the coaxially mounted drivers. This design results in extremely consistent sound character with minimal variation across the listening space.
Its wide coverage pattern allows for the use of fewer loudspeakers compared to speakers with less consistent coverage control, while simultaneously providing better area coverage. The system is tuned to pair well with the JBL Control 440CS/T subwoofer for applications requiring enhanced bass response.

Graphical Data Descriptions
Frequency Response & Impedance: A graph displays Sound Pressure Level (SPL) in decibels (dB) on the Y-axis against Frequency in Hertz (Hz) on the X-axis, measured in half-space (mounted in ceiling) at 8 Ω, on-axis. The curve shows a generally flat response from approximately 70 Hz to 20 kHz. A second curve shows Impedance in Ohms (Ω) on the Y-axis against Frequency in Hertz (Hz) on the X-axis. The impedance starts at around 8 Ω, peaks sharply around 260 Hz, and then settles to a minimum of 6.6 Ω at 260 Hz before rising again at higher frequencies.
Beamwidth: A graph illustrates the -6 dB Beamwidth in degrees on the Y-axis against Frequency in Hertz (Hz) on the X-axis. The beamwidth is approximately 120° at lower frequencies (e.g., 100 Hz) and gradually narrows as frequency increases, reaching around 90° at 1 kHz, 80° at 5 kHz, and approximately 70° at 10 kHz, before widening slightly at higher frequencies.
Dimensions: Diagrams show the physical dimensions of the loudspeaker. Key measurements include a total height of 255 mm (10.4 in) and a diameter of 260 mm (10.2 in). The depth from the ceiling tile to the top of the backcan is 240 mm (9.6 in). The required ceiling cutout diameter is 223 mm (8.8 in). The diagrams also illustrate the C-ring and tile rail mounting system and the location of wire entry points.
