Battery Setup

1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear housing of the clock.

2. Gently press down and slide off the battery compartment door in the direction indicated by the molded arrow.

3. Insert 2 fresh 1.5V AA alkaline batteries, aligning the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals with the polarity markings inside the battery bay.

4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks closed.

5. Confirm that the LCD screen activates immediately upon battery insertion.

Time and Calendar Configuration

Follow these steps to manually set the current time, year, month, and date. Ensure you complete the adjustments in an uninterrupted sequence, as the clock will exit setting mode if left idle.

1. Press the MODE button until the time setting digits begin to flash on the display.

2. Press UP or DOWN to set the correct hour digit, observing the AM/PM indicator if in 12-hour format.

3. Press MODE to confirm the hour; the minute digits will begin flashing.

4. Press UP or DOWN to adjust the minutes.

Alarm Setup and Operation

The Acctim 15869 Alta features independent dual alarms (AL1 and AL2) designed for couples or multiple wake-up schedules. Both alarms feature a crescendo chime that gradually increases in volume.

1. Press AL1 to enter setting mode for Alarm 1; the alarm time digits will begin flashing.

2. Use UP or DOWN to adjust the desired alarm hour.

3. Press AL1 again to switch to minutes, and adjust using UP or DOWN.

4. Press AL1 to confirm the alarm time. The Alarm 1 indicator icon will appear on the display, signifying that the alarm is armed.

5. Repeat the same procedure using the AL2 button to configure a second independent wake-up time.

6. To arm or disarm an alarm during normal operation, press the respective AL1 or AL2 button once to toggle its status on or off.

7. When the crescendo alarm sounds, press the top SNOOZE / LIGHT bar to temporarily silence the chime and initiate snooze mode.

8. To silence the alarm until the following day, press the respective alarm button (AL1 or AL2) instead of the snooze bar.

Display Backlight and Snooze Function

In normal operating mode, pressing the top SNOOZE / LIGHT button momentarily illuminates the reflection display. This provides high-contrast, glare-free readability in darkened rooms without staying permanently illuminated, conserving battery power.

Troubleshooting and System Reset

1. Unresponsive Controls or Frozen Digits: Model 15869 does not have an external pinhole reset button. To perform a system reset, slide open the rear compartment and remove both AA batteries.

2. Wait 1 to 2 minutes to allow internal capacitors to fully discharge.
