1 Safety Notes
Please read this manual carefully and completely before using the device for the first time. The device may only be used by qualified personnel and repaired by PCE Instruments personnel. Damage or injuries caused by non-observance of the manual are excluded from our liability and not covered by our warranty.
- The device must only be used as described in this instruction manual. If used otherwise, this can cause dangerous situations for the user and damage to the meter.
- The instrument may only be used if the environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity, ...) are within the ranges stated in the technical specifications. Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, extreme humidity or moisture.
- Do not expose the device to shocks or strong vibrations.
- The case should only be opened by qualified PCE Instruments personnel.
- Never use the instrument when your hands are wet.
- You must not make any technical changes to the device.
- The appliance should only be cleaned with a damp cloth. Use only pH-neutral cleaner, no abrasives or solvents.
- The device must only be used with accessories from PCE Instruments or equivalent.
- Before each use, inspect the case for visible damage. If any damage is visible, do not use the device.
- Do not use the instrument in explosive atmospheres.
- The measurement range as stated in the specifications must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
- Non-observance of the safety notes can cause damage to the device and injuries to the user.

2 Device Description
2.1 Front Side / CO2 Traffic Light
The front panel features a digital display showing CO2 concentration, temperature, and relative humidity. It includes a traffic light indicator for CO2 levels:
- Green: CO2 good (0 ... 599 ppm)
- Yellow: CO2 OK (600 ... 1199 ppm)
- Red: CO2 poor (1200 ... 9999 ppm)
The display also shows smiley faces indicating the CO2 level's impact on well-being: a happy face for good CO2 levels, a neutral face for moderate levels, and a sad face for poor levels.
The device model displayed is PCE-AC 2000.
2.2 Rear Side
The rear panel contains the following controls and connectors:
- Mode key
- Up key
- Down key
- Alarm key
- °C / °F key [temperature unit switch]
- Socket for power supply

4 Operation
4.1 Power on CO2 Analyser
Connect the mains adaptor to the CO2 analyser via the power supply socket. The analyser will power on automatically. The initialisation time is 7 seconds, during which the meter displays a countdown. After the countdown, the unit is ready for operation.
4.2 Switch Unit
Press the °C / °F key to switch the temperature unit between degrees Celsius (°C) and degrees Fahrenheit (°F).
4.3 Set Alarm
Press the mode key to enter the alarm setting mode. Use the Up and Down keys to adjust the alarm value. Press the mode key again to save the setting.
Note: The factory default alarm value is 1200 ppm.

6 Disposal
For the disposal of batteries in the EU, Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament applies. Due to contained pollutants, batteries must not be disposed of as household waste. They must be given to designated collection points.
In compliance with EU Directive 2012/19/EU, PCE Instruments takes back devices for re-use or recycling through certified companies.
For countries outside the EU, batteries and devices should be disposed of in accordance with local waste regulations.
