The Brighter Choice
SUNCO SELECTABLE CCT PRODUCTS
Best Practices and Install Guide
IMPORTANT: Although you can slide the switch when the light bulb is illuminated, the j-box or bulb could be hot to the touch. Sunco recommends you change the color temperature only when the light switch is turned off and after the product has cooled down.
EASY CCT SELECTION
Use the slider switch on the side of the junction box or light bulb to select color temperature options by aligning with the arrow. Each selection will change the light quality.
CCT Options:
- 2700K: Soft White (Orange light appearance, Calming, Relaxing, Inviting, Vintage ambiance)
- 3000K: Warm White (Yellow light appearance, Calming, Friendly, Inviting ambiance)
- 3500K: Warm White (Yellow light appearance, Clarity, Friendly, Welcoming ambiance)
- 4000K: Cool White (White light appearance, Bright, Clean, Precise, Vibrant ambiance)
- 5000K: Daylight (Blue light appearance, Crisp, Invigorating ambiance)
Note: Selectable CCT products offer 3-5 color temperature options, so your product may vary from the images shown here.
For the switch on the j-box, make your selection during the installation process to lock in the color temperature you prefer for each space.
BEST PRACTICES
- Use indoors in damp or dry conditions.
- Use outdoors only in protected or covered areas (such as in a recessed can under a covered balcony or on a porch) where condensation might occur, but rain or flowing water will not come into contact with the bulb or fixture.
- Dim lights (100%-10%) to adjust the light quality in addition to selecting the desired white light color temperature.
- Make groups of downlights or bulbs the same color temperature to create uniform, consistent lighting when used in the same room.
ABOUT SELECTABLE WHITE LIGHT
The term CCT refers to Correlated Color Temperature. It is a way to measure a light's warmth or coolness, not its physical temperature. Tuning a light allows you to change the warm vs. cool quality of a light to create the kind of white light you want and need in any room. Absolute color temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin (K). It allows you to describe light quality. The lower the color temperature, the warmer the look; the higher the color temperature, the cooler the look. Our Selectable CCT products include 3-5 color temperature choices shown in the chart below. See technical specifications for specifics.
