Design and function

Use

  • These instructions are provided as a guide only. Always make sure that you have a copy of the appropriate vehicle manufacturer’s service instructions or another appropriate manual that provides the correct. Information needed to correctly execute the work.
  • To avoid damage to vehicle parts and bearing components, the silent block and tools must not be tilted before or during insertion or extraction.
  • When inserting the silent block only use an anti-friction agent approved by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • If necessary, loosen or remove any attached parts.
  • Please ensure that separate parts are secured to prevent them from falling off!
  • The spindle must be adequately lubricated before each use.

Perform preparatory work on the vehicle (unscrew stabilizer screws)!

Removal

  • Insert the threaded bush 4925-66 into the installation/removal 4925-61 disc.
  • Insert the pre-assembled installation/removal disc 4925-61 onto the upper silent block.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-3
  • Screw the threaded spindle 4925-67 through the bearing with the installation/removal disc 4925-61.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-4
  • Then screw the housing 4925-58 and housing cover 4925-59 with the spindle nut 4925-11 onto the threaded spindle 4925-67.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-5
  • Actuate the spindle nut 4925-11 using a ratcheting combination wrench 606-24, while at the same time holding up the threaded spindle 4925-67 using a double box-end wrench 630-10×11, until the silent block is completely exposed.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-6

Installation of the upper silent block

  • Clamp the vice adapter 4925-60 in a vice and fit the housing cover 4925-59 and the housing 4925-58.
  • Insert the upper silent block as shown in the Illustration.
    ATTENTION: Note installation position!
  • Screw in the threaded spindle 4925-67 and place the spacer ring 4925-62 on top of it. Then place the installation/removal disc 4925-61 over it.
  • Then place on the distance pipe 4925-64 and screw on the spindle nut 4925-11.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-9
  • Actuate the spindle nut 4925-11 using a ratcheting combination wrench 606-24, while at the same time holding up the threaded spindle 4925-67 using a double box-end wrench 630-10×11.
    ATTENTION: Insert the upper silent block first only until the installation/removal disc 4925-61 is approximately 3 mm below the edge of the housing.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-10

  • Turn over installation/removal disc 4925-61 and screw on distance pipe 4925-64 and spindle nut 4925-11. HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-12
  • Actuate the spindle nut 4925-11 using a ratcheting combination wrench 606-24, while at the same time holding up the threaded spindle 4925-67 using a double box-end wrench 630-10×11 and insert the upper silent block completely into the housing 4925-58.

Insert the upper silent block into the unit support

  • Insert the centering disc 4925-63 in the bearing mount of the unit support.
  • Then place the housing 4925-58 with the pre-centered upper silent block, the installation/removal disc 4925-61, and the distance pipe 4925-64 onto the unit support and screw the spindle 4925-67 into the centering disc.
  • Screw on the spindle nut 4925-11 until a frictional connection is made.

  • Actuate the spindle nut 4925-11 using a ratcheting combination wrench 606-24, while at the same time holding up the threaded spindle 4925-67 using a double box-end wrench 630-10×11, until the housing 4925-58 can be removed.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-15

  • Turn the spindle nut 4925-11 back and place the wedge 4925- 65 (label side up) into the recess of the installation/removal disc 4925-61.

  • Insert the upper silent block by actuating the spindle nut 4925-11 using the ratcheting combination wrench 606-24 until the upper edge of the upper silent block is located approx 5 mm behind the lateral opening of the unit carrier while at the same time holding the threaded spindle 4925-67 using the double box-end wrench 630-10×11.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-19

Installation of the lower silent block

  • Insert lower silent block as illustrated.

  • Position the spacer ring 4925-62.

  • Screw in the threaded spindle 4925-67 using the attached distance pipe 4925-64.
  • Screw on the spindle nut 4925-11 until a frictional connection is made.
  • Actuate the spindle nut 4925-11 using a ratcheting combination wrench 606-24, while at the same time holding up the threaded spindle 4925-67 using a double box-end wrench 630-10×11.

Insert the lower silent block into the unit support

  • Screw spindle 4925-67 into the centering disc.HAZET-WERK-HZ4925251011-Silent-Block-Tool-Set-fig-29
  • Place the housing 4925-58 with the pre-centered lower silent block, the installation/removal disc 4925-61, and the distance pipe 4925-64 onto the unit support and then screw on the spindle nut 4925-11 until a frictional connection is made.

  • Actuate the spindle nut 4925-11 using a ratcheting combination wrench 606-24, while at the same time holding up the threaded spindle 4925-67 using a double box-end wrench 630-10×11, until the housing 4925-58 can be removed.

Maintenance and care

  • Always keep the device clean.
  • Do not use degreasing agents or water, to avoid corrosion
  • Only specialized personnel must perform inspection and repair tasks.

  • Unsuitable or defective spare parts may cause damage, malfunction, or total failure of the device.

Storage
The device has to be stored according to the following conditions:

  • Do not store the device outdoors.
  • Keep the device in a dry and dust-free place.
  • Do not expose the device to liquids and/or aggressive substances.
  • Storage temperature: -10 up to +45°C.
  • Relative air humidity: max. 60%.

Disposal

  • For disposal, clean the device and disassemble it according to the regulations for work safety and environmental protection. Components can be recycled.
  • Metal components can be scrapped.
