Quick Guide

Thank you for purchasing a Yamaha TransAcoustic guitar. A TransAcoustic Guitar is a new type of acoustic guitar that allows you to enjoy acoustic guitar sound with additional effect sounds resonating from the body as you play. With this product, you can also enjoy playing loop phrases recorded in the built-in looper and playing Bluetooth audio.

Controls

Controller

The controller features knobs for Delay, Reverb, and Chorus effects. A Loop button is also present.

Power

Power On/Off: Press and hold the Power button ?. The Power LED will illuminate. The Ring LED indicates the battery level ?.

Tuner

Tuner On: Press and hold the Delay button. The tuner indicator will show pitch status: 'Pitch is flat' (♭), 'Pitch is in tune' (♩), or '#Pitch is sharp' (#).

Tuner Off: Press the Delay button.

Looper

To use the Looper:

  1. Press the Looper button to turn it on. The LED will light up.
  2. Press the Reverb button to enter recording standby.
  3. Start playing your guitar. The REC indicator will show recording is in progress.
  4. Record your guitar playing.
  5. Tap the Tap sensor to stop recording.
  6. Tap the Looper button to play the recorded track. ▶️
  7. Turn the Looper button to adjust the volume of the recorded track.
  8. Play the guitar along with the recorded track.
  9. Press the Chorus button to stop playback.
  10. Hold the Chorus button to delete the recorded track.

Looper: Overdub

To overdub a loop:

  1. Press the Reverb button to start the recorded track.
  2. Press the Reverb button again to begin overdubbing.
  3. Play the guitar along with the recorded track.
  4. Press the Reverb button to play the overdubbed track.
  5. Press the Chorus button to stop playback.

Effects

The guitar features built-in effects: Delay, Reverb, and Chorus.

Effect Control: The Dry/Wet control adjusts the effect level. Turn fully left for no effect (Dry) and turn right to increase the effect sound (Wet).

The TAG Remote app allows detailed parameter control for each effect. Refer to the User Guide for more details.

Bluetooth Pairing

To pair with a Bluetooth device:

  1. Press and hold the Looper button to enter pairing mode. The Ring LED will light up.
  2. On your device, select the model name "TA3".
  3. The Power LED will light blue, indicating pairing is complete.
  4. Select music on your smart device.
  5. Play music from the guitar.

To disconnect pairing: Press and hold the Looper button.

Power Supply/Power Adapter

  • Do not expose the power cord to heat, bend it, or place heavy objects on it.
  • Do not touch the product or power plug during storms.
  • Use only the correct voltage specified for the product.
  • Always use the supplied power adapter.
  • Periodically check the power plug for dust.
  • Connect the power plug to a visible and reachable outlet.
  • Do not plug into a piggybacked outlet.
  • When unplugging, hold the plug, not the cord.
  • Unplug the product when not in use for a long time.

General Safety

  • Do Not Disassemble: Do not disassemble or modify the product. Request service from a Yamaha dealer.
  • Connection: Read and follow the manuals of connected devices.
  • Water Caution: Do not use in humid locations or where water may splash. If liquid enters, it may cause fire or electric shock. Do not connect/disconnect the plug with wet hands.
  • Fire Caution: Do not use fire near the product.
  • Wireless Equipment: Do not use near restricted medical equipment or pacemakers/defibrillators.
  • Lithium-ion Battery: Follow battery handling instructions. Use specified charger and temperature. Do not touch leaked liquid. Do not charge when wet. Do not crush or incinerate the battery. Do not expose to extreme heat.

Installation & Handling

  • Installation: Do not place in unstable or vibrating locations. Disconnect cables before moving.
  • Connection: Turn off all power before connecting/disconnecting devices. Lower volume before powering on/off.
  • Unusual Occurrences: If the product emits odor, smoke, or if damaged, unplug and seek service.
  • Handling: Do not insert hands into the sound hole. Ensure straps are secure. Handle gently. Keep face away when changing strings. Loosen pegs before cutting strings. Trim excess string ends. Do not put weight on the unit or apply excessive force. Avoid high volume for extended periods. Unplug before cleaning.

Notice

  • Charging: The built-in lithium-ion battery is consumable. Charge periodically if stored long-term. Battery life decreases over time. The battery cannot be removed by the user. Dispose of responsibly.
  • Handling: Avoid use near other electrical appliances to prevent noise. Use Airplane mode on smart devices when connected. Always turn off power after use. Minimal current flows even when off. Unplug when not in use for extended periods. Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, extreme temperatures, dust, or vibration. Condensation may form and cause malfunctions. Wipe off water droplets. No warranty for improper use.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents.
  • Data Storage: Some data is auto-saved but may be lost due to malfunction. Yamaha is not liable for data loss.
