Global Shutter Sync Shooting (only available in iT30Pro)
When used with a global shutter camera, the iT30Pro S supports synchronization across the entire shutter speed range. Compared to traditional High-speed Sync (HSS), global shutter synchronization delivers more effective flash exposure.
- When flash is used in TTL mode. Compared to a non-global shutter camera, with a global shutter camera, the HSS flash time is shorter (about 2-5 milliseconds), the recycle time is faster, and the camera can take more shots.
- When flash is used in M (manual) flash mode and you want to use single pulse flash (not HSS) in high-speed shutter (with a shutter speed faster than 1/600), you can adjust the camera’s flash delay time to match the exposure time, so that you can shoot with a more appropriate amount of light. Compared to HSS mode, this mode has a better flash index with the same power.

- On: Adjusts the flash timing manually (0 microseconds to 1000 microseconds).
- Off: Does not adjust the flash timing (the flash will fire in non-single pulse flash when the shut-ter speed is 1/600).
How to Match the Flash and the Shutter
High-speed shutter single-pulse flash requires very strict time alignment. As shown in the figure, the shutter needs to be turned on at the optimal light effect of the flash.
- A: Amount of flash light
- B: Time
- C: Shutter speed
- D: Amount of flash light in 1/128 power F: Exposed amount of flash light
- G: Flash starting timing
Matching method is as follows:
- Set the flash to M mode, then enter the camera menu.
- Locate the camera flash timing settings, enable ADJ, and enter the parameters. Parameter values vary by camera and flash model.
The table below uses the iT30Pro S + A9MIII combination as an example(For other global shutter cameras, the alignment time must be determined through real-time debugging. ):
| Flash Status Parameter | Value |
| Wireless OFF | Approx. 140 μs |
| Wireless ON | Approx. 540 μs |
- Set the camera shutter speed to 1/80000s and the flash power to 1/128. (Higher shutter speeds and lower power levels require higher alignment precision; if this combination works, other combinations will generally be applicable.)
- When the shutter speed is fast and the power is high (where flash duration is significantly longer than shutter time), delay the timing to align with the peak flash output.
- If the flash is not synchronized, fine-tune the ADJ parameters until optimal exposure is achieved,
- If you set the camera’s shutter speed to faster than 1/10000 and take a picture, the brightness and color may vary.
- For camera equipped with a global shutter image sensor, the HSS icon will not be displayed on the panel regardless of whether the high-speed sync setting is [ON] or [OFF].
- When the flash is connected to the camera using a sync cord, the camera shoots with a traditional high-speed sync instead of using the global shutter sync, so the distance that the flash’s light can reach is shortened.
Sync Triggering
The interface specification is φ2.5 mm. Insert a sync cord or trigger plug here into the sync cord jack, the flash will be fired synchronously with the camera shutter.
Over-Temperature Protection
- To prevent the flash head from overheating and damage, do not exceed the specified limit of rapid consecutive flashes at 1/1 Full Power.
- If continuous flashing persists beyond the number indicated in the table, Over-Temperature Protection may activate, extending the Recycle Time to over 10 seconds. Should this occur, allow the flash to cool for approximately 10 minutes before resuming operation.
- When the over-temperature protection is started, <
> is shown on the display.

Troubleshooting
- The flash does not fire: Ensure the flash is securely mounted on the camera hot shoe and the electrical contacts are properly connected. If contacts are dirty, clean them with a dry, lint-free cloth. If the < > or < > indicator does not appear in the camera viewfinder, wait for the flash to recycle. Check the battery level and charge/replace immediately if low.
- Underexposure or overexposure in High-Speed Sync mode: In HSS, the effective flash range is reduced—make sure the subject is within the effective flash range shown on the screen. If the subject is too dark or bright, adjust Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC).
- Wireless not triggering: If the 2.4G environment is disturbed (e.g., 2.4G Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth), change the channel (add 10+ channels) and use a less disturbed channel, or turn off other 2.4G equipment. If the flash has not completed recycling, lower the flash power; if in TTL, try switching to M. If sender and receiver are too close, enable the close-distance wireless mode (refer to the trigger manual). If battery is low, charge it. If firmware is outdated on the flash/camera, upgrade firmware.
- Over-temperature protection: If continuous firing exceeds the limit, over-temperature protection may activate and extend recycle time. Allow the flash to cool for approximately 10 minutes, then resume. When activated, the display shows the < > symbol.
- Firmware upgrade issues: Power off the device, press and hold the < SET > button, connect via the included USB‑C cable to a computer, then upgrade using the Godox G3 software and the latest firmware file.
