How to Reset Your HP Sprocket Studio Plus
There are two reset methods:
HARDWARE RESET
If the printer is unresponsive or won't connect to your mobile device, perform a hardware reset. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and power on the printer.
FACTORY RESET
A factory reset restores the printer to its default settings. This is useful if you are gifting the printer or if your mobile device is lost and privacy settings need to be cleared. Ensure your printer firmware is updated before performing a factory reset.
To initiate a factory reset:
- Connect the printer to a wall outlet.
- Hold the power button for approximately 7 seconds. The power LED will turn off after 3 seconds, but continue holding until the LED light starts to flash.
- Release the power button while the LEDs are blinking. The factory reset is now complete.
Note: After a factory reset, you may need to 'forget' the printer in your mobile device's Bluetooth settings and then re-pair it through the Sprocket app.
Caring for HP Sprocket Studio Plus
- Clean fingerprints, dust, and dirt with a dry microfiber cloth.
- Keep the paper path door closed when the printer is not in use to prevent dust and debris entry.
- Update the printer firmware regularly. Connect your mobile device to the internet, open the Sprocket app, turn on the printer, and connect it. Follow on-screen prompts if a firmware update is available. Ensure the printer is plugged into a wall outlet during updates.
- Keep your Sprocket app updated. Enable automatic updates or check your app store for the latest version.
Paper Jam Solution
- If a paper jam occurs, restart the printer. The printer should detect the jam and attempt to eject the paper.
- If the paper does not eject, turn off the printer. Gently pull out the jammed paper. Check for any paper scraps remaining in the printer.
- If paper scraps are found, restart the printer and remove any remaining scraps.
