Warning

  • Failure to properly lock the Bowens Mount in place may cause damage to the ClickBox and light.
  • Failure to confirm that the ClickBox is securely assembled may place unnecessary stress on the ribs and cause permanent damage to the ClickBox.
  • Failure to secure your light to the ClickBox could result in damage to your equipment.
  • The ClickBox is heat-rated for up to 300W COB/LED lights or 400Ws strobes.

Assembly & Mounting

Attaching the Bowens Mount to the ClickBox Adapter Ring

  1. Locate the ClickBox Adapter Ring, Bowens Mount, and three mounting screws.
  2. Remove the Bowens Mount from its nested position inside the ClickBox Adapter Ring.
  3. Position the Bowens Mount so that its flat face rests within the recessed well in the center section of the ClickBox Adapter Ring.
  4. Once the ClickBox Adapter Ring and the Bowens Mount are properly aligned, attach and tighten all three mounting screws to secure the Bowens Mount to the Adapter Ring. Do not overtighten.

Attaching the Softbox to the ClickBox Adapter Ring

  1. Locate the softbox material and the ClickBox Adapter Ring.
  2. Ensure the locking rod receivers are in the collapsed position.
  3. Take a rod attached to the softbox material and insert it fully into a locking rod receiver.
  4. Once the rod is fully seated, stretch the elastic band on the softbox and loop it around the hook on the locking rod receiver, ensuring it’s securely fastened.
  5. Moving clockwise, repeat the process for each rod until all are attached and secured.

Note: The 1×3 and 2×3 ClickBoxes use one or two locking hooks instead of locking rod receivers. Attach the elastic bands from the softbox to these hooks to ensure a tight seal around the base of the light.

ClickBox Assembly

  1. Face the front of the ClickBox downward while grasping the black Adapter Ring.
  2. While firmly holding the Adapter Ring, select a single rib and pull it back until it clicks into position.
  3. Going clockwise, continue to click each rib into place.
  4. Attach the included front diffusion panel to the front of the ClickBox.

Attaching the ClickBox to a Light (Bowens Mount)

  1. Place your light source onto a light stand, boom, or mounting arm.
  2. Align the Bowens Mount with the front of your light and secure the ClickBox. Refer to your light’s user manual for compatibility or mounting instructions.

Removing, Collapsing, and Storing the ClickBox

  1. Allow the light to cool for 5 minutes before removing the ClickBox.
  2. Press or slide the release tab on your light, firmly grasp the ClickBox and rotate the ClickBox to remove.
  3. With the face of the ClickBox facing downward and holding the Adapter Ring, use your thumbs to simultaneously press two adjacent quick-release buttons on the Adapter Ring to release two sections of ribs. Finish collapsing the modifier by simultaneously pressing the remaining two quick-release buttons. The release of rib tension may produce a loud sound that some users find startling. This sound is normal and does not indicate damage.
  4. Once collapsed, store at room temperature.
