Device Connection

USB Connection
Plug the cable into the USB port to connect to Windows/Mac. The device will be recognized automatically. When connected, STARRYPAD MINI will charge at the same time; (Red light: charging, Green light: charging complete)

Wireless Connection

• Windows:
  1. Download the BT MIDI Connector software from the official website (scan the QR code).
• macOS:
  1. Open Audio MIDI Setup.
  2. Navigate to Window > Show MIDI Studio (command ⌘ + 2).
  3. In the MIDI Studio window, click the Configure Bluetooth button in the toolbar.
  4. Select the STARRYPAD MINI in the list of devices, then click Connect.

Wireless Adapter
Plug wireless adapter B into Windows/Mac. When the indicator stops blinking, the connection is established.

MIDI Connection

• WIRELESS CONNECTION: Use the five-pin wireless MIDI adapter A to connect to a synthesizer or other MIDI IN-enabled device; [Note: If the five-pin wireless adapter is connected, STARRYPAD MINI will not be able to connect to other host computers]
• (Note: If the five-pin wireless adapter is connected, STARRYPAD MINI will not be able to connect to other host computers)

Note:

• Wireless Adapters A and B are not included in the package and must be purchased separately.
• Low battery indicator: When the device is low on battery, the PAD16 will start flashing.

Function Introduction

Power and Connection

• Switch: turn device on/off
• Power Indicator: Red light when charging, green light when fully charged.
• USB-C Port: for wired connection and simultaneous charging

Pads
Sixteen velocity-sensitive RGB pads featuring after touch. These pads support multiple types of MIDI messages, from MIDI Note and MIDI CC to MIDI Program Change. Note: You can edit each pad using the MIDI Suite software.

Presets 1-4
Press and hold the pad corresponding to presets 1-4, then turn on the device, you will enter the corresponding preset, by default:

• Preset 1’s 16 drum pads are pre-mapped to Ableton Live’s Drum Rack,
• Preset 2 is pre-mapped to FL Studio’s FPC drums,
• Preset 3 comes pre-mapped to Garage Band’s Native Drums,
• Preset 4 predefines PAD 9-16 for use as control buttons.

Using the Pads as Control Buttons
Apart from sending MIDI messages, the pads on the STARRYPAD MINI can also function as the control buttons. Use our MIDI Suite software to define the behavior of each pad. Then save your presets for quick access next time. Supported controls include:

• Note Repeat: trigger for the internal note repeat effect.
• Rate +/-: adjust the clock division of the note repeat.
• Swing +/-: adjust the swing setting of the note repeat.
• Pad Bank +/-: select the octave of the pads.
• Latch: lock the note repeat effect.

Connection Guide
Our device is a class compliant device, which means no drivers are required when using a USB cable. MIDI-enabled software will automatically recognize the device.

Windows Wireless Connection
Download and install the BT MIDI Connector from the QR code below to use our device wirelessly (requires Windows 10 or later).

macOS

1. Open Audio MIDI Setup.
2. Navigate to Window > Show MIDI Studio (command ⌘ + 2).
3. In the MIDI Studio window, click the Configure Bluetooth button in the toolbar.
4. Select the STARRYPAD MINI in the list of devices, then click Connect.

iOS/Android Wireless Connection
For iOS/Android devices, software that supports BLE MIDI is required. Connect the STARRYPAD MINI in GarageBand, FL Studio Mobile or Cubasis LE.

Safety Precautions and Precautions for Use
Please read the following carefully before handling and using it, especially for children who need to be guided by their guardians when using it.

Warning

• This product only uses the equipped Type-C cable to connect to a computer or mobile phone, and the rated voltage is 5V.
• Do not use in a humid environment and avoid placing the product in a place with high temperature or pressure.
• Check the cable regularly and keep the plug clean to make sure there is no damage.
• This product does not contain self-repairable parts, if there is an abnormality, please stop using it immediately and contact the dealer or after-sales service.
