The connector panel includes:
- HDMI port: Use to connect Sonos Arc to your TV.
- Join button: Press to connect during setup.
- Ethernet port: Use an Ethernet cable to connect to a router, computer, or network-attached storage (NAS) device (optional).
- AC power (mains) input: Use only the supplied power cord. Inserting a third-party power cord firmly until it is flush with the speaker is required.
Select a location
You can wall mount Arc below your TV or place it in or on a TV stand.
TV stand placement
- Place horizontally on a stable and level surface.
- Keep 4" (102mm) space (minimum) between the top of the soundbar and the bottom of your TV if placing below the TV.
- Do not place vertically or on its side.
- Ensure the touch controls are facing up.
Wall mount
You can secure the soundbar to a wall with a compatible wall mount. The custom-designed Sonos Arc Wall Mount is recommended (sold separately). See sonos.com for details.
Connect the cables
Before you start: Disconnect existing home theater or surround sound equipment from your TV. Connect any external devices, like a cable box or DVD player, directly to your TV. Turn your TV on.
- Connect the power cord and plug in the soundbar. Use only the supplied power cord.
- Connect the HDMI cable (included) to the soundbar's HDMI port.
- Connect the HDMI cable to your TV:
- TV with ARC/eARC port: If your TV has an HDMI ARC (or eARC) port, connect the HDMI cable to it. The ARC port may be labeled ARC, eARC, or ARC/eARC. Connecting to a standard HDMI port will result in no sound.
- Optical adapter (if needed): If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC or eARC port, use the optical adapter. Remove the protective cap from the adapter, attach it to the HDMI cable, and connect it to your TV's optical digital OUT port (a "D" shaped port). Ensure correct alignment to avoid damage.

Use your voice to control your Sonos system with any voice-enabled Sonos product. You can play and control content, and adjust volume.
- Sonos Voice Control: Offers hands-free control with privacy. It's ready to use and can be added during setup. More information available.

Note: Voice control availability may vary by country and is dependent on Sonos and voice service launches.
Microphone on/off
The microphone is used for voice control and features like Trueplay tuning. Press the microphone button to toggle it on or off. The microphone LED light indicates its status.
- When the microphone light is on: Voice control is active and ready to respond if a voice service is set up. Microphone-dependent features like Trueplay are available.
- When the microphone light is off: Voice control is off. Microphone-dependent features like Trueplay are unavailable.
Note: Even with the microphone off, you can still use voice commands by pressing and holding the microphone button (without a wake word). Voice control deactivates upon release.
Trueplay™
Trueplay tuning measures room acoustics to fine-tune your Sonos speaker for optimal sound, regardless of placement. It works on iOS mobile devices (iOS 8 or later) by having you move around the room while holding your device.
- Navigate to System, then select the room you want to tune.
- Choose Trueplay Tuning to begin.
Auto Trueplay
Portable Sonos products (like Sonos Roam and Move) offer automatic tuning. Auto Trueplay uses the speaker's microphone to detect the environment and make periodic adjustments for great sound. To enable Auto Trueplay for a portable speaker, go to System and select the speaker.
Product settings
Customize your Sonos products via the Sonos app. Go to System and select a product.
Setting | Description |
