Front View Click to enlarge.		After the cable modem successfully registers on the network, the Power, DS, US, Online, and LAN indicators illuminate continuously to indicate that the cable modem is online and fully operational.

Back View Click to enlarge.		The DLink DCM301 has the following ports available on the back of the modem. ETHERNET – Connects to the Ethernet port on your computer. RESET – Resets the cable modem. RF – Connects to the cable wall outlet. POWER – Connects the cable modem to the power adapter. ON / OFF – Press to turn the modem off or on. The RESET button is for maintenance purposes only.

MAC Address Click to enlarge.		MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F). A MAC address is unique. The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the manufacturer of the device.

The lights indicate the current status of your modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

POWER	Off	No power. Verify that the power supply and electrical outlet connections are secure. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.
DS (Downstream)	Solid Green	None
DS (Downstream)	Blinking Green	Modem establishing a connection from the Internet to the computer
US (Upstream)	Solid Green	None
	Blinking Green	Modem trying to connect to service – looking for upstream
	Off	Modem establishing a connection from the computer to the Internet
ONLINE	Solid Green	None.
ONLINE	Off	No connection.
ETHERNET 1-4	Solid Green	None. A device is connected to the Ethernet port.
	Blinking Green	None. A device is connected to the Ethernet port and data is being sent to or from the modem.
	Off	No connection.
WIRELESS LINK	Solid Green	None. The Wireless Access Point is operational.
	Blinking Green	None. Data is being transferred over the wireless connection.
	Off	The wireless access point has been disabled by the user.
TEL 1 TEL 2	Solid Green	None. Indicates service is enabled
TEL 1 TEL 2	Blinking Green	None. Line 1 or Line 2 is in use.
BATTERY	Solid Green	None. The battery is charged.
	Blinking Green	Battery charge is low.
	Off	No battery in the unit.
