H4MIDI WC
QUICK START GUIDE
H4MIDI WC Advanced USB Host MIDI Interface
H4MIDI WC is the world’s first USB dual-role MIDI interface that you can expand with wireless Bluetooth MIDI. It can function as a standalone USB HOST to connect plug-and-play USB MIDI clients and MIDI devices for bidirectional MIDI transmission. Simultaneously, it can also operate as a plug-and-play USB client MIDI interface for any Mac or Windows computer equipped with USB, as well as iOS devices (via Apple USB Camera Connection Kit) or Android devices (via USB OTG cable).
The device includes 1x USB-A HOST port (supports up to 8-in-8-out HOST ports via an optional USB hub), 1x USBC client port, 2x MIDI IN and 2x MIDI OUT via standard 5pin MIDI ports, along with an optional expansion slot for WIDI Core, a bidirectional Bluetooth MIDI module.
It supports up to 128 MIDI channels.
The H4MIDI WC comes bundled with the free HxMIDI Tools software (for macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android).
This software serves multiple functions, including firmware upgrades, and setting up MIDI merging, splitting, routing, mapping, and filtering. All settings are automatically stored in the interface for easy standalone use without a computer. It can be powered by standard USB power (from a bus or power bank) and DC 9V power (with positive polarity on the outside and negative polarity on the inside, which must be purchased separately).
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Use a USB cable to connect the H4MIDI WC’s USB-A port to a plug-and-play (USB MIDI class compliant) USB MIDI device.
- Connect the MIDI IN port(s) of the H4MIDI WC to the MIDI OUT or THRU of your MIDI device(s) using a 5-pin MIDI cable. Then, connect the MIDI OUT port(s) of this device to the MIDI IN of your MIDI device(s).
- Utilize a standard USB power supply to connect to the H4MIDI WC’s USB-C port, or use a DC 9V power supply to connect to the DC jack. The LED indicator will illuminate, indicating connectivity, enabling MIDI message exchange between connected USB and MIDI devices.
