QUICK START GUIDE
U4MIDI WC is the world’s first USB MIDI interface that you can expand with wireless Bluetooth MIDI. It can operate as a plug-and-play USB client MIDI interface for any Mac or Windows computer equipped with USB, as well as iOS devices (via the Apple USB Camera Connection Kit) or Android devices (via USB OTG cable). The device includes 1x USB-C client port, 2x MIDI IN and 2x MIDI OUT via standard 5-pin MIDI ports, along with an optional expansion slot for WIDI Core, a bidirectional Bluetooth MIDI module. It supports up to 48 MIDI channels.
The U4MIDI WC comes bundled with the free UxMIDI Tool software (for macOS, iOS, Windows and Android). This software serves multiple functions, including firmware upgrade, and setting up MIDI merging, splitting, routing, mapping and filtering. All settings are automatically stored in the interface for easy standalone use without a computer. It can be powered by standard USB power (from a bus or power bank) and DC 9V power supply (with positive polarity on the outside and negative polarity on the inside, need to be purchased separately).
INSTRUCTIONS
- Use a USB cable to connect the U4MIDI WC’s USB-C port to the USB port of your computer, the LED indicator will illuminate, and the computer will automatically detect the device.
- Connect the MIDI IN port(s) of the U4MIDI WC to the MIDI OUT or THRU of your MIDI device(s) using a 5-pin MIDI cable. Then, connect the MIDI OUT port(s) of this device to the MIDI IN of your MIDI device(s).
- Open the music software on your computer, set the MIDI input and output ports to U4MIDI WC on the MIDI settings page (two virtual USB ports can be used at the same time). The music software can exchange MIDI messages with connected devices.
