Charging

Connect the included Micro-USB cable(s) to the charging port (8) on the walkie talkies and to a USB power adapter. The indicator light (2) will turn orange while charging and change to blue when the walkie talkies are fully charged. The battery symbol on the display flashes when the battery level is low.

Basic Operation

Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power/Menu button (11) to turn the walkie talkies on or off.

Making Calls and Adjusting Volume

Adjust the volume by pressing the Volume buttons (9, 10). The volume level is displayed on the screen (5). To initiate a call or transmit a call tone, press and hold the Call button (7). To speak, press and hold the PTT button (3) and talk into the microphone (4). Release the PTT button when finished. If another device is set to the same channel and CTCSS code, it will receive the call automatically when the PTT button (3) is pressed.

Changing Channel and CTCSS Code

Use the Channel +/- buttons (6, 7) to select a channel. To change the CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) code, press the Menu button (11) until "QT" appears on the display. The CTCSS code will flash. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to select the desired CTCSS code. Press and hold the Volume buttons to scroll through codes quickly. Press the Menu button to confirm the selection. To disable CTCSS, select "OFF". Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Squelch Level Adjustment

Press the Menu button (11) until "Sq" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to adjust the squelch level. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Call Tones

The devices offer 10 different call tones. Press the Menu button (11) until "CA" flashes on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to cycle through the available call tones. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Roger Beep

After releasing the PTT button (3), a beep can confirm the end of transmission. To enable or disable the Roger beep, press the Menu button (11) until "ro" appears on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to toggle between ON and OFF. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Advanced Features

VOX (Voice Operated Exchange)

The VOX feature allows voice activation of the walkie talkies. To activate VOX, press the Menu button (11) until "iVOX" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to adjust the VOX sensitivity (9 levels). Levels 1-3 are recommended for noisy environments, and 7-9 for quiet environments. Press the Menu button to confirm. To disable VOX, select "OFF" during sensitivity adjustment. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Key Tone

The device can beep with each button press. To disable the key tone, press the Menu button (11) until "bp" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) the key tone. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Whisper Function

When the whisper function is enabled, the walkie talkie transmits a high sound level even when whispering. Press the Menu button (11) until "UI" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the whisper function on or off. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Voice Compander and Scrambler

The voice compander reduces background noise for clearer long-distance communication. The scrambler function encrypts audio, so only walkie talkies with the same scrambler ID will receive clear audio; others will hear noise. Press the Menu button (11) until "OP" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to activate or deactivate these functions. Selecting "OFF" deactivates both. Selecting "SC" activates the scrambler. Selecting "CO" activates the compander. Confirm your selection with the Menu button. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Voice Scrambler ID

If the voice scrambler function is active, you must set a scrambler ID. Press the Menu button (11) until "SC" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to set the scrambler ID. Ensure both units use the same ID for communication.

Headset Function

If using a headset, enable the headset function. Press the Menu button (11) until "EP" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the function on or off. Confirm with the Menu button. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Monitor Function

The monitor function allows listening to weak signals that might otherwise be missed. Press the Menu button (11) until "no" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the function on or off. Confirm with the Menu button. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.

Dual Watch

The Dual Watch function enables monitoring of two channels simultaneously. Press the Menu button (11) until "CH" is displayed. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to enable/disable the function or set an additional channel to monitor. When active, the device scans both channels and stops on an active one. Scanning pauses for 10 seconds after releasing the PTT button (3) when transmitting.

Flashlight

Press and hold the Channel + /Flashlight button (6) to turn the flashlight on or off.

Lock Function

Press and hold the Volume + button (10) to lock all buttons. A lock icon will appear on the display. Press and hold the Volume + button again to unlock the buttons.

Scanning for Radio Channel

Press and hold the Volume - button (9) to scan for an active channel. Scanning stops automatically when a channel becomes active. Press the PTT button (3) to transmit on the found channel. Press and hold the Volume - button (9) again to exit the scan.

Safety Information

The product contains a non-replaceable rechargeable Li-ion battery. Do not open or disassemble the product.
