Warning! Remove any labels from the soleplate before heating up the iron (depending on model).

Warning! Before using your iron with the steam function for the first time, it is recommended to operate it in a horizontal position for a few moments, away from your linen, by pressing the Shot of Steam button a few times. During the first few uses, a harmless odour and smoke may be given off. This has no effect on the use of the iron and will disappear quickly.

What water to use?

The appliance is designed to function with untreated tap water. Regular operation of the Self-Clean function is necessary to eliminate hard water deposits. If your water is very hard, you can mix tap water with store-bought distilled or demineralised water in a 50%-50% proportion.

Types of water not to use

Avoid using water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners, pure distilled or demineralised water, or rain water. Do not use boiled, filtered, or bottled water.

I- STEAM IRONING

Filling the water tank

Diagrams illustrating the water tank filling process:

  • Unplug the iron.
  • Set steam control to DRY [A].
  • Tilt iron slightly, soleplate downwards [D].
  • Turn stopper anticlockwise to open [B] (it lifts automatically).
  • Fill tank to MAX line [D].
  • Close stopper by aligning arrow and turning clockwise until closed padlock symbol [C].
  • Plug in the iron.

Choosing your ironing programme

Your iron has 8 ironing programmes. Each program automatically determines the most suitable temperature and steam flow for the textile type.

Diagram showing the 8 ironing programs (cool, synth. acryl., soie, silk, laine, wool, coton, cotton, lin, linen, jeans) and program selector [E], indicator panel [F], and thermostat indicator [G].

To select the program, use the selector beneath the grip [E]. Pressing left selects low temperature/steam programs; pressing right selects high temperature/steam programs. The selected program appears on the indicator panel [F]. Set steam control to steam. Ironing can start when the thermostat indicator goes out [G].

Recommendations: Fabrics and ironing temperatures

  • Iron fabrics at low temperatures first, then move to higher temperatures.
  • When changing to lower temperature programs, wait for the thermostat light to come on again.
  • For mixed fibres, set the temperature for the most delicate fibre. Test on an inconspicuous area first for delicate fabrics.
  • Use a vented ironing board for best steam penetration.
  • Ensure fabric is flat to avoid steam venting sideways.

Functions

Spray Function

Press the Spray button [H] during ironing to dampen fabric and remove stubborn creases.

For more steam (Shot of Steam Button)

Press the Shot of Steam button [I] from time to time, waiting a few seconds between presses.

Vertical steam ironing

Ideal for removing creases from suits, jackets, skirts, and hanging curtains. Hang garment on a hanger and hold fabric taut. Steam is very hot; never iron a garment while someone is wearing it.

Set iron to program 8 [J]. Hold iron a few centimeters from fabric. Press Shot of Steam button [K] repeatedly, moving iron top to bottom [L].

Integral anti-scale system

This system [M] helps provide better ironing quality with constant steam flow and prolongs the iron's life.

Anti-drip function

Automatic steam selection reduces steam flow at lower temperatures to prevent dripping.

Auto-Stop safety feature (depending on model)

The electronic system cuts off power and the Auto-Stop warning light flashes if the iron is left vertically for over 8 minutes or horizontally for over 30 seconds [N]. To restart, gently move the iron until the warning light stops flashing. Note: When Auto-Stop is active, the thermostat light may be off.

"Thermo-Alert" function (depending on model)

The "Thermo-Alert" light [O] illuminates when a lower temperature program is selected and remains lit while the soleplate is too hot. Ironing can begin when the light goes out.

2- DRY IRONING

Select your ironing program. Set the steam control to DRY [A]. You can start ironing when the thermostat light goes out.

3- CARING FOR YOUR IRON

BE CAREFUL! Unplug your iron and let it cool down before cleaning.

Cleaning the Anti-Calc Valve (Once per month)

Unplug and empty the water tank. To remove the valve, select program 8, press the release button [P], and pull the valve upwards. NEVER TOUCH THE END OF THE VALVE.

Soak the valve in white spirit vinegar or plain lemon juice for 4 hours [Q]. Rinse under running water. Replace the valve. The iron will not function without the anti-calc valve.

Self-Cleaning

To extend the iron's life, use the Self-Cleaning function once a month. Heat the iron with a full tank standing on its heel (program 8). When the thermostat light goes out, unplug and hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Remove the anti-calc valve. Gently shake the iron over the sink until water (with impurities) flows out through the soleplate. Replace the anti-calc valve. Turn the iron back on for 2 minutes on its heel to dry the soleplate. Unplug and wipe the soleplate with a soft cloth when warm.

Recommendation: Self-cleaning helps slow down scaling.

Cleaning the Soleplate

While the soleplate is still warm, clean it with a moist non-metallic pad.

4- STORING YOUR IRON

Unplug the iron and wait for the soleplate to cool down. Empty the water tank and set the steam control to DRY. Wind the cord around the heel. Store the iron upright on its heel.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

  • Do not use if dropped, damaged, or leaking.
  • Place on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Ensure your electrical installation voltage matches the iron (220V-240V). Incorrect voltage can cause irreversible damage and void the warranty.
  • Always plug into an earthed socket. Use a correctly rated (10A) extension lead with an earth connection if needed.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an Approved Service Centre.
  • Never immerse the iron in water.
  • The appliance emits steam that can cause burns.
  • Unplug before filling or emptying the water tank.
  • If the appliance falls, have it checked by a qualified person before reuse; unseen damage can be dangerous.
  • Do not use if dropped and showing visible signs of damage or leaks.
  • The soleplate can be very hot: never touch it, let it cool before storing, never leave unattended when plugged in or hot, keep out of reach of children.
  • Place the iron on its stand on a stable surface.

NEVER DISMANTLE YOUR IRON; ALWAYS CONTACT AN APPROVED SERVICE CENTRE.

This product is designed for domestic use only. Professional or improper use, or failure to comply with instructions, will void the warranty and absolve the manufacturer of responsibility.

Brown streaks come through the holes in the soleplate and stain the linen. You are using chemical descaling agents.
You are using pure distilled/demineralised or softened water.
Fabric fibres have accumulated in the soleplate holes and are burning.
Do not add descaling agents to the water tank.
See "Types of water not to use" section.
Carry out a self-clean.
The soleplate is dirty or brown and can stain the linen. Your linen has not been rinsed sufficiently or you have ironed a new garment before washing it.
You are ironing with an inappropriate program (temperature too high).
You are using starch.
Ensure linen is rinsed thoroughly.
Select the appropriate program.
Clean the soleplate with a non-metallic sponge. Vacuum soleplate holes periodically.
Always spray starch onto the reverse side of the fabric.
There is little or no steam. The water tank is empty.
The anti-calc valve is dirty.
